Regulation of bacterial transcription by alternative sigma factors.
Benda, Martin ; Krásný, Libor (advisor) ; Roučová, Kristina (referee)
An important feature of bacteria is their ability to respond to various environmental conditions by regulation of transcription. This thesis is focused on regulation of transcription initiation by different sigma factors. Sigma factor is a specific subunit of RNA polymerase, which ensures correct recognition of promotor sequences. During exponential growth phase under ideal conditions, the cell transcribes most of the genes under the control of the so-called housekeeping sigma factor. In the transition to stationary phase, during sporulation or upon exposure to different stresses, many genes are activated and transcribed under the control of alternative sigma factors. This work presents a list of these alternative sigma factors of Bacillus subtilis, focusing on conditions under which the individual sigma factor is used, methods of activation and repression of these factors and on regulons controled by these sigma factors.
Technological process of the end flow part
Benda, Martin ; Sedlák, Josef (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
The aim of this work is to create the technological process for the manufacturing the end flow part in EXCALIBUR ARMY spol. s r.o. The first part of the thesis focuses on structural and technological analysis of the component part. In the second part, two different production technologies are proposed. One on conventional machines and the another on the CNC turning center. At the end of work. The production times for these procedures are calculated, followed by a technical-economical evaluation in which the two proposed processes are compared.

Problematika návykový látek u žáků středních škol
Benda, Martin
Abstract This thesis deals with the awareness of high school students about substance abuse and the risks associated with the abuse of these substances. In the theoretical part I will try to map the situation regarding the current state of drug use in high schools. I will mention a few reasons why high school students with substance use begin and what dangers may bring such use. Readers will get to know terms such as drug addiction and what brings risks. Next, I will briefly describe addictive substances and specific effects of addictive substances among high school students. The end of the theoretical part will be devoted to primary prevention, minimal preventive programs in high schools, a description of school prevention education and prevention strategies. The practical part of the thesis is devoted to the detection of an anonymous questionnaire, which was presented to pupils at selected high school (vocational schools and high schools, SČMSD Znojmo). The research includes a survey with students of the first and third year of apprenticeship. The results of the survey are processed into tables and graphs, and then further discussed. The aim of the survey is to find out how high school pupils are familiar with the risks that drug use can bring and what is the role of these substances in the lives of adolescents. The results can also serve as supplemental information for school counselors, school prevention for at pursued school.
