Temperature measurement of an asynchronous motor
Bartoň, Petr ; Deeb, Ramia (referee) ; Janda, Marcel (advisor)
In this thesis there are described methods which are used in order to measure a temperature in electric machines. Whereas there is an influence of magnetic field and mechanical effects in the electric machines it is possible to use only limited number of methods for measuring temperature. These methods can be divided into two basic groups. The first group is being called "contact measurement" and while the second one is "non-contact measurement". Contact measurements are performed by usage of resistant sensors or thermocouples. On the other hand, non-contact measurements are performed by pyrometers and thermal imager cameras. Theoretical values of warming are determined by the FEMM which operates on the basis of the finite element method. In the practical part there are compared several methods whereby asynchronous engine was measured at various loads. Measured values are compared with theoretical values.
Thermal analysis of synchronous machine
Bartoň, Petr ; Hájek, Vítězslav (referee) ; Janda, Marcel (advisor)
The master’s thesis deals with analysis of warming and cooling of synchronous machine. The warming is caused by the machine’s losses resulting from the conversion of electrical energy into mechanical energy. There then can be achieved high values of temperature on the machine, which can lead to destruction of the machine. The transient thermal analysis, working on the finite element program Ansys Workbench, is used for thermal analysis. As an appropriate instrument, which serves for flow calculation, a module CFX in the program Ansys Workbench may be used. In the practical part the model for unhampered alternator with current in the field winding only was measured and after that, the measured values were compared with the results of transient thermal analysis. Speed and progress of air flow through machine were analyzed with CFX module.
Illegal markets: Curse or blessing
Rygl, Petr ; Šťastný, Daniel (advisor) ; Bartoň, Petr (referee)
Despite of common understanding of illegal markets pejoratively is their existence an argument that participants have certain benefits of exchange and potentially the welfare for the entire society. This thesis deals with what degree to impacts of existence of black markets really negative, how the public perceive it and otherwise what degree to impacts are positive. The first part is interested in determination of standard (to design a test) of social (un)profitableness from existence of particular illegal market. The second part deals with empirical description of separate market in concrete ekonomy. In the end of the thesis will be valuation of the knowledge from the first part applied to the sekond part and we will be able to answer the question, if the where all these illegal market will be legal, would be contribution for society or not.
Provisions of Czech republic to reduction of incidence fo crisis on Czech republic
Kopáček, Jiří ; Mirvald, Michal (advisor) ; Bartoň, Petr (referee)
The aim of my bachelor thesis is to analyse anti-crisis provisions of National economic council of government (NERV). I confront the provisions with reality and try to find out, if the provisions are effective or not for now. Proposed provisions, which I devote in the thesis are concerned in changes in payment of insurance of employee and tax liability of firms. The thesis is devided into three main parts. In the first part I shortly devote to causes of financial and economic crisis and consequent establishment of government advisory authority -- NERV. Main topic in this part is change in payment of insurance of employee. To find out of effect of these provisions I use correlation analysis. In the second part I am engaged in change of tax rate of corporation tax. I use theories of economists of supply side (Arthur Laffer). The biggest attention I pay to Laffer curve, which I demonstrate for Czech republic. Final third part of thesis represents effect thereinbefore mentioned provisions on employment in CR, which I then compare with employment in EU.
Is Tomáš Sedláček right? Is consumption a drug?
Sedlák, Jiří ; Bartoň, Petr (advisor) ; Hudík, Marek (referee)
Main goal of the thesis is to either confirm or deny a statement that consumption has become a drug for human kind. The term of consumption is defined at the beginning along with main aspects that influence it. Consequently, I try to explain what excessive consumption is and why it should come up. The thesis is also aimed at investigation of addiction to consumption and Murphy and Becker's theory of rational addiction (1988) is presented. Based on this theory and exception of inflation in the future, I try to investigate whether people of Czech Republic are addicted to consumption of food and non-alcoholic beverages, and consequently based on a few factors influencing consumption, behavior of consumers in the Czech Republic on the milk and butter market is analyzed. Last part of the thesis contains consideration of correlation between happiness and bigger consumption. The conclusion contains my answer whether consumption is a drug or not.
Tax competition and publicly provided goods: The example of Switzerland
Los, Jakub ; Bartoň, Petr (advisor) ; Rod, Aleš (referee)
The main aim of this paper is to assess the impact of tax competition on the functioning of the public sector in the real economy. In particular it follows up the public finances and the impact of tax competition on the amount and structure of publicly provided goods and services. The paper is based on the economic theory of tax competition and fiscal federalism, taking into account the arguments both against and in favor of tax competition. It examines tax competition in a particular example of Switzerland and shows how tax competition works here. The paper analyzes tax competition in Swiss cantons and shows that the tax burden in the canton is dependent on the tax burden in the neighboring cantons. It also deals with the influence of tax competition on the structure of publicly provided goods in Switzerland and takes into account also the phenomenon of commuting and the consumption of publicly provided goods in cantons different from the canton where the tax is collected. The paper also examines the impact of commuting on the structure and level of public expenditure in Swiss cantons.
Analysis stowaways in Prague public transport
Jarolímová, Monika ; Bartoň, Petr (advisor) ; Babin, Jan (referee)
This bachelor thesis is examinig whether it is worth it for Prague public transport's passengers to travel without a valid ticket and will address the factors that affect making decisions to buy a ticket. In particular the amount of recourse for a ride without the ticket, the probability of being caught by an inspector, the price of the short-term tickets and the implementation of SMS fare. My research is based on the dates in the time period from August 2005 to April 2012. The theoretical part is based on Crime Economics and on the Tsebelis's game theoretical model. After estimating the model using the ordinary least squares method, it was proved that the probability of being caught by an inspector has a greater impact on the number of free riders than the amount of the fine.
The analysis of influence of reimbursement regulatory fee in regional hospitals on the length of stay.
Junga, Přemysl ; Bolcha, Peter (advisor) ; Bartoň, Petr (referee)
The thesis analyses the influence of reimbursement regulatory fee for hospitalization which was introduced in regional hospitals in 2009 in Czech Republic. The difference in difference analysis was used to research the possible relationship between reimbursement of the fee and length of hospitalization in acute care hospitals and in after-care facilities. In acute care the influence was 0,5-1 % of the length and in after-care facilities between 8-12 %. This relationship may be biased because of introduction of DRG system which may decrease the length of stay and may be differently distributed between treatment and control group.
Profitability analysis of 3D in movies
Tesař, Tomáš ; Svoboda, Miroslav (advisor) ; Bartoň, Petr (referee)
The main hypothesis of this dissertation says that movies which are shown in cinemas in 2D and also 3D version have greater box office than movies which are shown only in 2D version. The model with two simultaneous equations was constructed to confirm or reject this hypothesis. Data set includes movies which had wide release between January 2009 and December 2011 in the USA. The results show that 3D has no influence in the first week but there are negative significant effect on the number of screens, which could be connected with insufficient capacity of technologically equipped screens, and positive significant effect on revenues in the next nine weeks. The model includes other important and significant factors influencing revenues and the thesis compares these results with recent literature dealing with this topic.
Increase the Great Sports Events Sick Leave?
Štefánik, Adam ; Lahvička, Jiří (advisor) ; Bartoň, Petr (referee)
In case that watching sports yields more benefits than costs of the activity, employees are tempted to find a way to avoid work and watch sports. The thesis looks into influence of the most watched sport events on amount of sickness rate among employees in the Czech Republic using daily data from 2004 to 2010. Gender-specific regression analysis proved relevant impact of summer Olympic Games 2004 and 2008 on rising of men and women sickness rate. During these Olympic Games by more than 16 percent of men and 17 percent of women started to receive sick pay compared with other days. On the contrary, the impact on sickness rate was not proved in case of observed football championships and winter Olympic Games 2006 and 2010.
