Impact of Communication Parameters on Energy Consumption of Zigbee Devices
Popelka, Jan ; Červenka, Vladimír (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
This thesis deals with the energy research and design a simple wireless sensor networks. The data modules with ZigBee wireless communication technology. The main feature of wireless sensor networks is the minimal energy devices at low cost and maximum data reliability. Furthermore, the work describes firmware for communicating nodes with the ability to change parameters of data transmission and thus affect the energy consumption node. Calculations of energy consumption, compared with measured results and discharge characteristics of the battery packs are included in the final chapters of this work.
Light Weight Mesh Experiments
Nováček, Richard ; Botta, Miroslav (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
Semestral thesis deals new technology Lightweight Mesh and its implementation on a laboratory task to the subject of wireless sensor networks and the creation of appropriate documentation, which will serve as a basis to students. Also included is the use of serial communication, timer and ADC in Atmel Studio.
Design of unicast and multicast models in NS2
Votava, Martin ; Burget, Radim (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
This work is focused on Network Simulator 2 - tool used for simulating network implementations. Focal point of this work is simulating of unicast and multicast routing. This work also describes protocols used on transport layer, such TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) and UDP (User Datagram Protocol). Last but not least work includes laboratory part in which reader is able to verify reached knowledge in Unicast and Multicast simulation.
Research into GPS system used for Wireless Sensor Node Localization
Juračka, Jan ; Číž, Radim (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
Theme of the thesis is research and possibility of using GPS system from localization in wireless sensor network. Paper deals with the accuracy and energy consumption of GPS localization. Thesis also solve using of localization in local anchor system. Theoretical part describes IEEE 802.15.4 standard, capability of used nodes and describe ways how to use RSSI value to resolve location
Research of Localization Algorithms in Wireless Sensor Networks
Holešinský, Pavel ; Morávek, Patrik (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on research of localization algorithms. Each developed localization algorithms are generally application specific. Because of application requirements diversity, many variants of localization algorithms exist. In case of finding appropriate localization algorithm for concrete application usability, existence of real condition simulation environment is useful. Development of this simulation environment was made simultaneously with both localization algorithms. At first, survey of available localization technic was performed and their summary was listed. Further work was aimed on research of two localization algorithms. Both of them use triangulation mechanism to determine unknown node position. This mechanism is based on measurement of distance to three reference points with known position. It would seem that both algorithms are similar, but simulation shows their difference and presents their suitability for diverse conditions.
Web Application for Monitoring of Elecric Energy Consumption
Režný, Jan ; Koutný, Martin (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
Bachelor thesis called „Web Application for Monitoring of Elecric Energy Consumption“ focuses on receiving, processing and visualization of measured values from wireless sensor network, which is measuring the consumption of electrical devices. The aim is to create a applications for data receiving and proccessing and application which can manage connected power meters, user-defined devices and its association, export measured data and display reports, graphs and statistics obtained from these measured values.
Data network for smart grid energy
Durkoš, Michal ; Šimek, Milan (referee) ; Mišurec, Jiří (advisor)
Electric grid as we now it has been without significant change for a long time. Along with the human population grows demand for electricity, which leads to need to create more energy. Bigger interest is in ecology and use of renewable sources, although these do not have constant output which often stresses the grid. These problems are to be solved by smart grids. Smart grids are capable of adjusting energy generation to immediate demand including renewable sources to compensate energy fluctuations in grid. They provide demand response and other applications interesting for end users. Smart grids are combination of achievements in energy, informatics and communication technology. Communication, which is key part of smart grids, has to met certain requirements and can be executed by various technologies. There are described various communication technologies and a design concept of data communication in this paper.
Packet Analyser for UWB based on 15.4a standard
Leixner, Martin ; Šimek, Milan (referee) ; Mráz, Ľubomír (advisor)
The aim of this work is study the standard for wireless sensor networks IEEE 802.15.4a. Design and implementation of a packet analyzer for ultra wideband technology com- pliant with IEEE 802.15.4a standard. Integrate packet analyzer to inspection software Wireshark and implement dissector for view packets. Finally, analyze and evaluate the parameters of the proposed packet analyzer.
Application for Network Monitoring and Management for ISP
Kmoníček, Tomáš ; Kouřil, Jiří (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
The objective of this master‘s thesis is to develop an ISP application for service monitoring and management. A fully functioning monitoring software has been developed, which allows the administrator to check the round-trip time and the packet loss in the entire network. Another function of the application is obtaining information from network devices by the SNMP protocol (e.g. packet and byte count etc.). The software uses the information to create hour, day, week or year graphs. All graphs and statistics are visualised at the administration webpages. For the purpose of client administration, a clients database has been developed. This part of the application contains functions of payment administration, IP addresses, contacts etc. Both parts of the web pages have been developed using PHP and AJAX, which makes the application similar to standard desktop applications. The testing application has been developed using Python and the entire application has been designed for modules, which can be later used for the development of other functions.
Wireless model 802.11 in NS2
Botta, Miroslav ; Kubánková, Anna (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
Theme of this work is simple wireless simulation Network Simulation 2 tool. The work consists of more parts. In the first section is basic theory about Wi-Fi networks, they types and standards and describes how useful can it be in practical life. In the second section there is a short annotation for programming in TCL language and possibilities of NS2 for simulating wireless networks. In the end there is a complex simulation of this network. In the third part there are two complex tasks where the information’s are drawn from the previous two parts.
