Mapping of application of menus for clients with hepatitis C in selected therapeutic communities for drug users in the Czech Republic

BACKGROUND: Studies which were realized in the Czech Republic and also abroad found that hepatitis C is spreading among injection drug users. Literature wrote how would a person with HCV should eat in addition to development and pharmacotherapy of this disease. Literature recommends which food stuff is good for HCV person, how to prepare meal. Foreign studies have shown that nutrition counseling is good for whole process of treatment for addicted people. AIMS: The main aim of this research was to find if therapeutic communities for drug users had a special menu for clients with HCV. It was important to know how to enable the special boarding, which processes and food stuff were used. Subsequently menus of each community were evaluated in terms of supply energy, proteins, carbohydrates, fat and fieber. METHODS: The process of obtaining the data was conducted via email and telephone communications with each of the therapeutic community. The base of the research was one week menu from each community. Menus were evaluated in terms of nutritional composition. Food stuff were finally entered into the program Kalorické tabulky, which assed the amount of the basic nutrients in the meals. Communication, parental control, and gender differences in parenting styles and their effect on alcohol use among sixth grade students involved in the project Unplugged

BACKGROUND: Foreign studies shown, that parenting style and specific aspects of parenting has effect to children in alcohol consumption. In family style, with minimum alcohol consumption were children from families who enforced authoritative parenting style, also in families where parents communicate with children, give them clear boundaries and control them. AIMS: The aim of the research part of the thesis is to investigate the relationship between communication style, selected aspects of parenting style (such as control and following rules) in the family and alcohol use among children. Another theme of the thesis is also to determine the differences between girls and boys in the prevalence of alcohol use, depending on the researched communication aspects and parenting style. METHODS: To obtain the data was used the questionnaire European Family Empowerment Questionnaire (Sumnal, Calafat, 2010). The questionnaire was translated to Czech language. Bachelor thesis deals with comorbidity of eating disorders in therapy among clients addicted to stimulants. The thesis is focused on the topic of substance abuse, because of their increased anorectic effect, as a method to weight loss. The goal of the practical part of this thesis was to evaluate the percentage of clients addicted to stimulants exhibiting signs of eating disorders. A secondary goal was to determine the incidence of the characteristics of individual diseases in this group and to evaluate which of them will appear in the sample more frequently. Obtain answers to research questions was carried out using a questionnaire survey conducted in the Psychiatric Hospital Červený Dvůr for six months. The topic of the thesis focuses on nutrition for people recovering from alcohol addiction.The theoretical part of the thesis is to detect excessive use of sugar abstinent women in a psychiatric hospital and common characteristics depending on the seasoning.This section will be described alcohol, its production, its effects and impact on human health. Also described are the mechanisms of physical and psychological dependence on sugar. The harmfulness of sugar on the human body and the effect on his health. Differences in eating habits and frequency of food received by clients of therapeutic communities before and after the initiation of treatment of addiction

This thesis focuses on the eating habits of drug users. The aim of the study is to compare changes in eating habits among clients in therapeutic communities before entering into treatment with the subsequent state of eating habits in the first month of treatment and in the third month of treatment. Data were obtained in therapeutic communities completing food frequency questionnaires, which monitor the weight of clients and consumption of major food groups - grains, vegetables, fruits, dairy products, meat, eggs, legumes, sweets and tea. Questionnaires were administered immediately after entering treatment, to obtain retrospective information on eating habits before treatment. Clients completed the questionnaire after the first and third months of addiction treatment. Based on the analysis data obtained from the questionnaires, it was found that the average weight among treatment clients grows. Larger increases were recorded for the clients, women by an average of 2 points on a scale of BMI. The data show that consumption of commodities, cereals, fruit, dairy products and sweets among the periods before treatment, in the first month of treatment and in the third month of treatment decreased. The level of parental control in relation to leisure activity choices and alcohol consumption among sixth grade students taking part in the Unplugged project

The bachelor thesis titled The level of parental control in relation to leisure activity choices and alcohol consumption among sixth grade students taking part in the Unplugged project studies the influence of individual parenting methods on leisure activity choices of children with respect to their alcohol consumption. The thesis aims to determine applicable findings for parenting methods and leisure activity choices, so that the risk of alcohol intake among children can be reduced. In the theoretical part of the thesis, Baumrind's parenting topology is introduced. Next, current knowledge of alcohol consumption and leisure activity choices among adolescents is summed up. At the end of the theoretical part of the thesis, findings of past works on the relationship of alcohol consumption and leisure activities are presented. The practical part of the thesis applies statistical methods for analysis of variance to the pupil data gathered within the Unplugged project so as to verify the hypotheses given. The total of five hypotheses are verified regarding the influence of parenting methods on leisure activity choices of children or regarding the influence of leisure activity choices of children on their alcohol consumption.
