People with no religious affiliation as workers of diaconia - Current situation in Catholic and Protestant traditions

The thesis named "People with no religious affiliation as workers of diaconia - Current situation in Catholic and Protestant traditions" deals with stances of chosen Churches and diaconal organizations towards the employment of workers who are not members of any Church or not religiously defined. At the beginning the thesis deals with a definition of basic terms and their Biblical origins, then the thesis shortly describes important milestones in history of diaconia with closer look at the implementers. The main part of the thesis presents specific attitudes of the Roman Catholic Church, Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren and their diaconial organizations to cooperating with non denominational people and their employment. This part also presents these attitudes in the light of documents of Second Vatican Council. A chapter about spirituality and religiosity of the present time brings up a topic of the current situation in the field of employment of non denominational people in chosen church organization and fields which may appear problematic. Finally, the thesis concludes with opinions of current Czech and world theologians about what employment of non denominational people in Church organization might mean and where it might lead. Holistic Medicine as a Phenomenon Now Days Time

This thesis focuses on the comprehensive approach to human health. She attempts to shed more light on this topic, to document current circumstances related to the psychosomatic medicine and the so called holistic medicine, and to clarify the manner of understanding these concepts nowadays. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis constitutes a rough summary of the comprehensive approach to human treatment, a view of fundamental theories of psychosomatic medicine and its current position in the Czech health system. The thesis also includes an outline of applied terms which are connected to the comprehensive approach to human treatment, especially in the specialized literature. The practical part of this diploma thesis monitors the way in which the media use the terms of holistic medicine and psychosomatic medicine. Further, a general understanding of these concepts is demonstrated by the means of a questionnaire survey on a sample of 454 respondents. Moreover, the practical part is completed by interviews with two specialists of the Czech psychosomatic scene. The first part of the thesis explains the history and present state of connection between social and health areas but mainly deals with the position of medical social worker who connects both areas and who cares about discharge planning. Working Conditions and Health Promoion of Professionals in Elderly Care

The dissertation brings sociological and socio-psychological view on working conditions and health promotion of professionals working in the field of long-term care and examines the impact of these conditions on their well-being. Its overall objective is to map the current work conditions and work situation of this working group in the Czech Republic and draw attention to an area that is not adequately reflected. Specific objective is the verification of the model Effort Reward Imbalance and the concept of wellbeing on the population studied. The side effect is to provide the results of the conducted applied research to the management of participating organizations for practical purposes. The work is divided into theoretical and empirical part. Theoretical background characterizes basic concepts; health promotion and long-term care. The central theoretical and methodological tools used in the applied research are then described: socio-psychological concept well-being and model Effort Reward Imbalance (ERI). The model, which was introduced by contemporary German sociologist J. Siegrist, presents a key resource of mapping stress in the workplace. Bereavement Care in Hospital

The topic of this Bachelor thesis is the bereavement care in hospitals, with focus on the situations that arise when a patient is expected to die. Firstly, the thesis explains the process of grieving and its phases. Then it looks at principles of self-help and support from non-professional and professional care services. Emphasizing the valuable function of a funeral in the process of dealing with loss of a close person. Secondly, the role of the hospital is explained, including the procedure of treatment of the dead body and the corresponding laws and settled practices. The thesis explains how the patient's death is communicated to the bereaved ones whilst still in hospital. Finally, a survey research was conducted in the Ústřední Vojenská Nemocnice hospital in Prague, with the goal of finding out the services offered to bereaved people. Reflection of Quality of Life perspective in the process of deinstitutionalisation

Quality of Life of residential social services user during the process of transformation is the topic of the thesis. First part comprehends theory about the Quality of Life term. It describes development of QoL terminology and meaning, distinguishing them from other terms used in the similar contexts and presenting different approaches and aspects of QoL. Process of transformation and deinstitutionalisation of social services is described in second part, theoretical background and foundation in international agreements included. Closer attention is given to the process of transformation of organisation called Vyšší Hrádek, p. s. s., on whose service users is the topic of Quality of Life in next chapter applied. Last part of the thesis is dedicated to the topic of Quality of Life of people with development disabilities in the context of deinstitutionalisation. Specifics of Quality of Life of people with development disabilities evaluation are summarised there and based on examples of real service users are proposed criterias and approach to evaluation of changes in Quality of Life before and after the transformation. Social Work in a Medical Department with a Geriatric Patient

The bachelor thesis introduces the role of medical-social worker/social worker during the process of planned release of geriatric senior from medical department. It results from demographic prognosis that the number of seniors in higher age will grow up constantly. Therefore the connection between social and medical area is important to ensure a quality and dignified style of life. The subject of geriatrics specialized in ill senior as a person with biological, psychological and social peculiarities. Health and social worker, who is a member of geriatric team, assists in ensuring this style of life by planning the process of release from medical department to senior's natural environment. The worker involves in this process senior's family and he applies his knowledge of social services, attitudes and methods of social work.
