Risk of Thromboembolic Disease in Women

In the theoretical part of my thesis I define the illness, venous thromboembolic disease. The theoretical principles are used to determine the risks of the disease onset in women, primarily focused on the risk related to the hormonal contraception usage and the hormone replacement therapy. Attention is paid to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the DVT as well. In the following chapters the readers will be apprised with the treatment procedures, primarily from the nursing care perspective. The theoretical part of the thesis will be concluded with the casuistry of patient who suffers the thromboembolic disease and who was in my personal nursing care. The empirical part of my thesis is aimed on the qualitative and related quantitative research, which will be carry out by the help of the questionnaire. The questionnaire is based on the outcoume of the data analysis (casuistry) gained at the Clinic of Cardiology, FN Motol. The questionnaire is distributed and determined for wide group of women from non-medical environment (layman). The results of my research are giving the respons on the thesis's goals and hypotheses. Automated external defibrillators in theory and practice

The bachelor thesis deals with the treatment and importance of location Automated external defibrillators in the particular units of Integrated Rescue System. In the theoretical part I describe basic anatomy and physiology of heart, patophysiology of selected cardiac arrhythmias. The largest part is devoted to Automated external defibrillators. In the several parts I explain philosophy of defibrillators, description of instruments, indication and contraindication of use, correctly use of defibrillators, the pros and cons their use in basic life support. In this bachelor thesis I write history of defibrillation and Automated external defibrillators. I mention studies, which were performed on this topic. In the practical part the quantitative method was used in the form of anonymous questionnaires. The survey was conducted at the particular units of Integrated Rescue System.
The Specifics of Nursing Care for Patients after Resection of the Tongue on Oral Suregery Department

This thesis deal swith the specifics of nursing care for patiens with a resected tongue in the oral surgery department. The objectives of this work include focusing on the basics of care for patiens after a tongue resection and the most common problems nurses may encounter hen caring for these patients. The work consists of two parts: the theoretical and empirici parts. The theoretical part describes the field of dentistry and oral surgery, anatomy and physiology of the oral cavity. It also deals with orofacial surgery and the actual tongue resection procedure with a focus on nursing care for patiens after wards. In other chapters of the theoretical part we can read about the most common nursing problems in patiens after a tongue resection. In addition, the twelve patterns of health in Marjory Gordon's nursing model will be described for the empirical section. The empirical part is devoted to the research investigation. The thesis describes the metodology and organization of the research investigation. This was a qualitative research, the method of data collection was to create three case reports or case studies with follow discussion. Intra Aortic Balloon Counterpulsation from the Perspektive of Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit of Cardiac Surgery

The thesis is focused on the intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation (IABP) from the perspective of nurses in the cardiac intensive care. It consists of two parts. Theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part will deal with the intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation, including basic anatomy of the heart and blood vessels, the principle of IABC, its indications, contraindications, technology IABC and specific nursing care of patients with established IABC. The empirical part is treated as quantitative research, which is used for the data collection method anonymous questionnaire. The aim of the thesis is to determine nurses' knowledge of IABC in the cardiac intensive care and subsequent drafting of guidance for postoperative cardiac surgery department KARIM University, Prague. In this section are also included important questions and answers from the perspective of the specified variables obtained from the questionnaire and subsequent actions arising in practice. Knowledge of nurses about methods of treatment of the leg ulcer

The topic of this thesis is "Knowledge of nurses about methods of treatment of the leg ulcer". The purpose of this thesis was to document current methods of treatment of the leg ulcer and to evaluate nurse's knowledge of this area. The thesis is divided into two sections - a theoretical and an empirical one. The theoretical section is devoted to the leg ulcer as a term and its causes, then it concerns wound healing and factors, which it is influenced by. It also describes the currently used methods of treatment of the leg ulcer and other chronic wounds. The empirical section is based on a quantitative research performed as a questionnaire study, which has been carried out in medical and surgical wards in three teaching hospitals in Prague. The goal of this research was to determine nurse's knowledge of chronic wounds, the leg ulcer, its risk factors and prevention, of wound healing, compression therapy and to find out, in which ways nurses get access to information on wound healing and treatment of the leg ulcer. This goal was met. The findings of the research are summarized in the conclusion of the thesis. Nursing Care in Patient with Acute Myocardial Infarction

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to identify the characteristics of prehospital and hospital care of patients with acute myocardial infarction. The theoretical part of the thesis summerizes clinical symptoms, diagnostical procedures and treatment of such patients. There is mentioned the importance of preventive steps, also. The differences in prehospital and hospital nursing care of acutelly ill patient are examined in detail. The practical part of the thesis uses data of Pilsen Region Rescue Service and analyzes the incidence of acute myocardial infarction in this area. Furthermore, two case studies discuss the appropriateness of nursing care. Nursing care of a patient with non-invasive ventilatory support

This diploma thesis deals with a non-invasive ventilatory support method and its use in commercial practice. The intention was to find out what theoretical basis nurses have in the mentioned issue, to characterize the most common indications, contraindications and particularly complications emerging at patients connected to a non-invasive ventilatory support. In the theoretical part there are found chapters about anatomy and physiology of airways and about a principle of an artificial pulmonary ventilation. A non-invasive ventilatory support represents a detailed chapter. The main part focuses on nursing care and monitoring of a patient connected to a non-invasive ventilatory support. I mainly deal with hygiene of airways, rehabilitation and breathing physiotherapy, positioning and the motion regime. Care for physical state of a patient connected to a ventilation and an issue of worsened communication during implementation of a non-invasive ventilatory support cannot be committed. The empirical part contains mainly anonymous questionnaire research leading to evaluation of given aims and hypothesis of work. Public awareness of the issue of donating bone marrow

The primary aim of this diploma thesis was to draw attention to the issue of bone marrow donation. The thesis focuses on the level of public awareness and people's significant doubts regarding bone marrow donation, as these doubts and apprehensions might be the main reason restraining them from entering the bone marrow donor register. The theoretical part provides a comprehensive summary of findings in this area. Substantial part addresses particular types of the hematopoietic cells taking process and the following donor treatment. The empirical part of this diploma thesis constitutes of a quantitative research, in which hundereds of respondents have been reached through an electronic questionnaire. Within exactly 10 days, 576 of them filed for the survey, 496 of them were valid and processed. The outcome of the research reflects strong need for raising factual public awareness in the area of hematopoietic cells donation, especially in respect to current donation methods. 79,51 % of respondents had no knowledge of peripheral blood stem cell (PBSC) donation method. 50,26 % of them admitted fear of the bone marrow donation procedure itself.
