The Self-care plan as an instrument for managing acute crises in the lives of social workers

9 Abstract Exploring self-care has become a discourse which has skyrocketed as a result of Covid-19 pandemic. Although self-care is gradually becoming an ethical imperative that should be available to all social workers in the performance of their profession, in the Czech Republic self-care has not yet been reflected in the Code of Ethics for Social Work. The presented work explores the issue of insufficient preparation of social workers for self-care. In the theoretical part, I define the key terms, self-care plan, social worker and crisis situation. In this part I also deal with managing crisis situations, maladaptive coping and the consequences of providing social services to clients. Subsequently, I focus on the impact of crisis situations on the mental and physical health of social workers. At the end of the theoretical part, I present a manual for creating a self-care plan and describe the resources and techniques that can be the key to a social worker's greater resilience. In the conclusion of the theoretical part, I describe the studies of self-care that have beeen conducted to date. The influence of activation activities to adaptation of seniors in institutional care

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of adaptation of seniors to residential social services and, as part of a research investigation, examining the influence of activation activities on this process from the point of view of facility staff. Using the active method of the semi-structured process of successful care, the author concludes that active activities largely belong to the client's adaptation to the new institutional environment. The output of the work is then a methodological list designed for the needs of facility workers who implement adaptation groups.

Ukrainian refugee coordinators and setting the boundaries of their work

This thesis focuses on describing the nature and content of a newly emerging specific position, namely the Ukrainian coordinator. It aims to provide a deeper understanding of her role in the process of receiving and integrating Ukrainian refugees. The theoretical part of the thesis is set within the context of field social work and intercultural work, with an emphasis on setting professional boundaries within helping professions. The empirical part presents an analysis of 15 semi-structured interviews with Ukrainian coordinators. Kinship foster care in the context of contemporary times

In my master thesis, I focus on the topic "Kinship foster care in the context of contemporary times", and I concentrate on foster care provided by grandparents. The thesis aimed to explore the impact of recent legislative and economic changes on the quality and well-being of grandparent foster carers. In the theoretical part, I focused on the current legislative framework and financing of foster care, highlighting the specificities of the situation of grandparents as foster parents. The practical part includes semi-structured interviews with foster grandparents, conducted directly in their home environment, which revealed how legislative and financial changes affect their daily life and stability. These findings offer valuable insights into the challenges that foster grandparents face and provide important suggestions for future research and policy decision-making in foster care.

Ukrainian migration to the Czech Republic: challenges and successes of integration in times of war

The thesis deals with the migration of Ukrainians to the Czech Republic and analyses the problems and successes in the process of their integration into Czech society during the period of the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine. The aim of the thesis is to provide a detailed overview of the migration of Ukrainians to the Czech Republic and to describe the challenges faced by the migrants. The thesis examines various aspects of integration and inclusion, including social, cultural, legal and economic. The main focus is on issues such as adaptation to the new environment, employment, education, support for migrants and socialization in the Czech Republic. Emphasis is also placed on the positive aspects of migration and integration as well as on issues related to barriers to integration. The work includes successful integration practices, models of support and best practices that can be used to further improve the situation of Ukrainian migrants in the Czech Republic. In the research part, the results of qualitative research obtained with the help of a questionnaire are presented. This thesis will serve as material for further discussion and development of policies and measures that will lead to effective integration of Ukrainian citizens into Czech society.
