Visualization of Detected Objects from Drone in Microsoft HoloLens 2
Object Detector for Robotic Workplace
Kneslík, Martin ; Bambušek, Daniel (referee) ; Materna, Zdeněk (advisor)
The main goal of this thesis was to create an algorithm for detection and tracking of colored cubes using the Kinect Azure depth camera and integrate this algorithm into the ARCOR2 system. The solution uses color filtering of the input image, the DBSCAN algorithm for finding clusters in the pointcloud, and RANSAC for plane detection. The detection is evaluated on a custom dataset with an accuracy of 91%. The user of the ARCOR2 system can use the results of this work in a demonstration workstation in the robotics lab, where robots will manipulate the colored cubes detected by the algorithm.
From a Dumb Boiler to a Smart One Using a Smart Socket
Grünwald, Adam ; Kapinus, Michal (referee) ; Materna, Zdeněk (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to extend a smart home by a smart boiler created from a dumb one with help of a smart plug and two temperature sensors for measuring values in a boiler. This smart boiler will be able to adapt to the household's schedule of using hot water using a learning algorithm, which uses historical data of hot water consumption measured on the boiler. Heating to higher temperature is happening before expected consumption or on request, which is represented as a special event in Google Calendar. The boiler can be either turned off with help of Google Calendar, which can be used when the whole family goes on holiday and it isn't needed to heat the water in the boiler. Programs for collecting and evaluating data, managing the heating of boiler, the database, and service showing statistics, run on a laptop in a local network. The main benefit of the thesis is creating a device, which can adapt boiler to smart home and reduce electricity costs on hot water heating by more than 30 %, which on 80 l boiler represents savings of more than 130 Euro per year.
System with Model Servos
Švec, Radek ; Materna, Zdeněk (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this thesis was to study the ways of controlling hobby servos, and then to design and create small machine with hobby servos. The created machine is a six-legged walking robot - hexapod with 18 servos for movement. This robot can be remotely controlled using a mobile application for Android. Main control unit of the robot is ESP32 development board. The resulting hexapod is able to walk in all directions and rotate on spot with different walking gaits. It can also change its ground clearance and walking speed. The result of this thesis is a compact walking robot with basic functions, which is suitable for extensions, eg. adding a camera or measuring sensors.
From a Dumb Boiler to a Smart One Using a Smart Socket
Mitura, Jacek ; Zemčík, Pavel (referee) ; Materna, Zdeněk (advisor)
Nowadays, the world of smart devices is growing very fast. Nevertheless, it remains difficult to acquire smart device for water heating applications. The usual reasons complicating this fact include the lack of the possibility of connection to the central control unit, or the need to replace the entire boiler with a new smart model. In both cases, the additional disadvantage is the higher price of such a solution. Therefore, the aim of this bachelor's thesis is to create a comprehensive and affordable solution, ensuring the conversion of an existing boiler to smart using a smart socket and a central server controlling the household. The solution uses a daily consumption forecast based on an exponential moving average to save electricity.
User Interface for Ground Vehicle Control in Outdoor Environment
Pavlenko, Peter ; Materna, Zdeněk (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis includes design and technical aspects of GUI specific focused on remote control of ground robot in outside enviroment. The theoretical part deals with creating applications for the android platform and it takes a closer look at method of controlling the robot using the Robot Operating System. Main part of this thesis is the design and the implementation of application capable of navigation and control the robot. In conclusion you can find the testing done to verify validity of this graphic user interface.
3D Model Reconstruction and Camera Localization
Vahalík, Tomáš ; Materna, Zdeněk (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
This thesis focuses on reconstruction of 3D environment model from a set of photographs followed by camera localization. It describes basic principles and techniques used to create environmental models and techniques for camera pose estimation from 2D camera points to 3D model points. It also examines the influence of parameters on the quality of reconstruction and the possibilities of localization. It compares the quality of the descriptors in the process of creation of the model and based on localization it allows to implement augmented reality.
Home Automation Based on Arduino/WeMos/RPi Platform
Bubeníček, Daniel ; Materna, Zdeněk (referee) ; Kapinus, Michal (advisor)
This thesis deals with design and implementation of home automation system based on Arduino, WeMos and Raspberry Pi platforms. Twelve modules for home automation were designed, which can be easily built on these platforms. The implemented prototype allows to control heating system and LED light, track temperature and humidity, detect newly connected Wi-Fi devices, human motion, door opening, create custom automation rules etc. The system uses pre-existing household equipment. The new hardware used in prototype cost only 1.600 CZK.
Positionable Stand for a Surveillance Camera
Materna, Zdeněk ; Macho, Tomáš (referee) ; Kučera, Pavel (advisor)
Thesis deals with design of control for surveillance camera positionable stand over Ethernet. It describes the selected hardware solution based on development kit with ARM microprocessor and connected board with additional electronics. Thesis also discusses software solution using the Linux operating system, created using Buildroot package and modified for real-time control.
Intelligent Security Camera Based on Raspberry Pi
Vinarčík, Peter ; Španěl, Michal (referee) ; Materna, Zdeněk (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to create Pan-Tilt-Zoom security camera which will be constructed from Raspberry Pi and camera module. Camera tries to be compliant with ONVIF standard. Software of this camera is implemented in Python and partially in Node.js. Camera module captures 200 degrees field of view. Captured image is transferred as simulation of Pan-Tilt-Zoom camera with the help of computer vision - library OpenCV for Python. The resulting image will be possible to control and watch in network video recorder called Shinobi.
