The role of the evil and the good sister in Perrault's fairy tales

v anglickém jazyce This bachelor's thesis deals with ways of conception of the role of evil and kind sister in the fairy tales written by well-known French author Charles Perrault. These ways are compared with methods of current writer Patrick Chamoiseau. The goal of this thesis is to show the identical traits by using analytical and subsequent comparative method. These identical features were revealed on the basis of work with fairytale texts Cendrillon ou La petite pantoufle en verre, Les fées and La Barbe Bleue in Czech translation Popelka aneb Skleněný střevíček, Víly and Modrovous. These attributes become the main criterions of comparison of achieved results with elements which can be found in a fairy tale called La plus belle est à l'en-bas de la baille in Czech translation Nejhezčí je pod žlabem. This study aspires to answer the question if it is possible to declare these three mentioned fairy tales written by Charles Perrault as a possible source of inspiration how to understand characters of kind and evil sister in work of Patrick Chamoiseau. About brigands and bandits. Elaboration of a textual tradition.

The aim of this thesis is to introduce the phenomenon of brigandage, its origins, but also its development in time and space, and above all in the context of textual tradition. Robbery is examined from a literary scientific perspective, emphasizing its belonging to both the real and the fictional universe. Representatives of this phenomenon, both from the French and the Czech environment, are not neglected in the research. The tales and legends related to these selected heroes are then subjected to a comparative analysis, which takes the optics of Vladimir J. Propp's fairy tale morphology and does not forget the study of motifs by Adam Votruba. At the same time, selected motifs and themes, are also identified in this work. The detailed analysis aims to determine whether the brigand stories are completely individual and unique or whether they are just certain variations on an identical theme and thus a kind of regional updating of a single model. At the same time, the thesis focuses on the reflection of the brigand theme in culture, specifically in literature, film, music and visual arts, without neglecting its overlap with contemporary times. Using RWCT methods in French language teaching

This work focuses on using methods of the Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking (RWCT) program in teaching French as a foreign language. The goal is to create a French lesson using these methods and to test it in practice. The first chapter is dedicated to the development of critical thinking in the school environment and describes selected RWCT methods. The second chapter connects critical thinking with current trends in teaching French, especially with the action-oriented approach. The third chapter focuses on how the development of critical thinking is anchored in curricular documents and on the expected level of students' language skills. In the fourth chapter, we use all these insights to prepare a lesson for upper primary school students. The fifth chapter reflects on the actual course of the tested teaching unit and feedback from students, adding further recommendations. We found that although the use of RWCT methods in foreign language teaching is not directly supported by curricular documents, nothing prevents teachers from proceeding this way. French gallantry

5 ABSTRACT This bachelor's thesis deals with the phenomenon called "French gallantry" of the 17th century and its various aspects, including etymology, its impact on a certain degree of women's emancipation, preciosity, contemporary manners, salons, gallant love and eroticism, as well as its demise associated with the advent of the French Revolution. The thesis examines the origin of the term "gallantry" whose main significance lies in courteous behaviour towards women and each other. Emphasis is placed on the role gallantry played in women's emancipation, helping them gain social recognition. Inextricably linked to this are salons, the environments that promoted the intellectual exchange of ideas. The thesis also delves into an analysis of gallant literature of the 17th century focusing on themes of love and eroticism, and how they were portrayed in works of the time. The pre-Romantic period put an end to this social phenomenon, focusing on a completely different proclamation of feelings. This thesis aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of French gallantry, using a literary approach based on the analysis texts and works from the period. The Anticolonial Novels Published in the 50th of Last Century in ParisObjectivation, Thingification and Identity Emptiness of Sub-Saharan Character

The 1950s were marked by the anticolonial novel movement inspired by social realism. The decade saw the appearance of sub-Saharan novelists who became pillars, of sub-Saharan literatures written in French, later considered classics. These authors were all published in Paris, like their predecessors. In their novels, they describe the daily situation in the French colonies in Africa. They represent the first generation of sub-Saharan writers who, in a complex and systematic way, depicted the relations between colonizers and the colonized, relations disturbed and misbalanced by the strict and categorical practice of domination by the Occident. The prominent authors of this crucial period are: the Congolese Jean Malonga (1907-1985), the Ivoirians Bernard Binlin Dadié (1916-2019) and Aké Loba (1927-2012), the Senegalese Ousmane Socé Diop (1911-1973), Ousmane Sembène (1923-2007) and Cheikh Hamidou Kane (1928), the Guinean Camara Laye (1928-1980), two Cameroonians Ferdinand Oyono (1929- 2010) and Mongo Beti (1932-2001). These authors, who I explore in my paper, do not belong, as we can see, to the same generation, but their first novels were written and published in the decade before decolonization (except Ambiguous Adventure by Cheikh Hamidou Kane, which was not published until 1961). Czech talls in French

The folk tales of Karel Jaromír Erben and Božena Němcová are an integral part of Czech culture and tradition. Erben and Němcová's fairy tales have been translated into many world languages, including French. Thanks to these translations, awareness of the Czech language and local culture is spread worldwide. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to determine which fairy tales by Erben and Němcová have been translated into French and to provide examples of some publishing houses that have published Czech fairy tales in French, as well as the availability and reception of these fairy tales by readers. At the end of the work, French translations are compared to their Czech originals, with a focus on a more detailed comparison of the original French fairy tale La Belle aux cheveux d'or by Madame d'Aulnoy with the Czech version by Karel Jaromír Erben of Goldilocks. Based on the comparison of selected literary texts, it is found that the French translations do not differ from the Czech originals in any significant way, with fairy tale motifs and intentions remaining preserved, but characteristics of characters may change, as is the case with La Belle aux cheveux d'or.
