Reconstruction of the cultural center Ronov nad Doubravou

The aim of the thesis was to create documentation for building permit and a part of building design documentation, based on architectural study prepared insubject named AG34 – Architectural Design Studio IV. Main content of the study was reconstruction of the cultural house next to the main hall. Building contains dancing hall, restauration and high garret. Basic idea of the project was to deconstruct latest part of the buildings from courtyard. Today in year 2020 the spaces are small for new function and are not valuace. Thats why the latest parts will be break down. Building plot is located on Chittussi square. The original house is now standing between townhall and family house. At immediate proximity is located also resturations, school and church. Plot is quite flat and horizontal. Part of the project is also landfield inside courtyard, where also kids from school are playing.

Reconstruction of the town spa in Malé Svatoňovice

The aim of the bachelor thesis was to prepare a documentation for building permits and a part of the documentation for the building construction on the basis of an architectural study, developed in the „AG35 – Monuments Restoration Studio“ module. The topic of the studio work was to think about the appropriate use of a listed building in the historic center of the village of Malé Svatoňovice and to create an architectural study. I have proposed the following concept. The building should serve as a municipal house, so I have concentrated the corresponding functions here: the municipal office, the ceremonial hall, the museum, doctors labs, cosmetics, the pharmacy and finally the spa, which had a long tradition here. When restoring an object, I proceed synthetically. I examine the quality and preservation of individual layers. Then I highlight the best of each one. If some layer have not been preserved, but still have had its qualities, I remind it in a new language. I think it was Tadao Ando who said, "If the genius loci is to be legible, it must be revived and provoked by inventive inputs." I combine modern with historical using timelessness.

Reconstruction of the Pohorelec at the JAMU Stage Design Studio

The aim of the Bachelor thesis was to renew and rebuild the building of the former Supreme state prosecutor to the place for The Stage design of Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno and The Rectorate od Janáček Academy. The building is located on the corner of the busy streets Jánská, Kobližná and Pohořelec where it forms a rather drab end point of these streets. The object was built in the post World war II period and carries features of late functionalism. The building has been abandoned since 90s. The ground floor was used for commerce, the underground floor for technical equipment of the building and other upper floors were purely administrative. The building has one underground floor and seven above-ground floors. In the ground floor were designed a public café and exhibition spaces. On the second to the fourth floor there are administrative places for the Janáček Academy Rectorate. On the fifth to the seventh floor the are spaces for students of the Stage design. In the new eight floor there is a background for the Light design. The main focus of the work was to restore life and create a functional and aestetically friendly environment. This was achieved by changing the internal layout where some dividing structures were removed, including the vertical connections of the floors and finally the use of glass partitions.The layout is now more open, lighter and airy. A main element of the reconstruction is the extension of the next floor, which has increased the space for students and employees and confirmed the unclear verticality of the building. The entire extension has more dominant look, but with natural respect to the surrounding buildings. The superstructure fasade consists of pre-installed electroluminescent panels with a holographic foil. This foil produces rainbow effects on the facade and reflects light, relieving the mass. Reconstruction of the town spa in Male Svatonovice

The bachelor's thesis follows up on the architectural study created by me in the third year of the academic year 2019/2020 within the subject AG035 - Studio of Architectural Creation V - Restoration of Monuments. The content of this bachelor's thesis is the elaboration of a study to the level of documentation for a building permit and part of the documentation for the construction. The solved building was built in the first half of the 18th century. In 1930, a fire broke out in the village, including the town spa. The whole truss burned down, leaving only the perimeter walls. After 6 years of reconstruction, the building reopened to the public. There was a spa, hotel and inn. At present, there are doctors' surgeries, social flats, the Čapek Brothers Museum, public toilets, and a ceremonial hall. The main intention was to restore the late Baroque appearance of the building. The biggest construction intervention will be the removal of the third floor and the removal of the false mansard roof. It will be replaced by a hipped roof with a residential attic, as it was originally. Removing the existing roof structure will reduce the number of storyes, but the height of the building will remain almost the same. The new roof shape is hipped with a purlin truss system. All the original brickwork of the load-bearing interior and perimeter walls will be preserved. More modern extensions from the rear of the building and the internal partition will also be removed. The layout will be adjusted according to the function of the part of the building. Division of functional parts into city spas and short-term accommodation, Museum of the Čapek Brothers, ceremonial hall and part reserved for doctors. The external expression of the building dates back to the late Baroque period, according to historical photographs and postcards. Reconstruction of a rural house in Prasklice

The subject of the bachelor's thesis is the renovation of a rural house in Prasklice. The project is based on the subject AG033 - Studio of Architectural Creation - Restoration of Monuments. Returning to the original appearance and character of the second half of the 19th century are a priority for design and restoration. The building was built after 1850 and served as a country estate. The object from the beginning of its creation served as a background with an agriculturally economical character. The object changed over time, each time it was a functional adjustment, so that the object could better serve its economical lot. Early additions and necessary renovations have affected the current appearance of the building. Viewed from the main street, the right part of the building serves as a museum and is in the spirit of village housing from the second half of the 19th century.century. Additional functions are the storage of old finds, teaching pupils and the population in the economy and its structure. The right part has 6 key rooms, each of which will have its purpose, which will repeat the previous way of living (kitchen, living room, bedroom, hallway, pigsty and barn). The pigsty will be returned to its original state, and the next barn will be returned to its former period by offering various things from the past. The left part of the building has a rather commercial character. It includes a room for rent for any activity, a waiting room, a nurse's office and a doctor's office. This solution will serve both for visits of ordinary villagers, and for the elderly of the newly built object of the nursing home, which needs its doctor. Behind the office there is a restaurant, which has its own food preparation room and can accept 20 visitors. In the core of the left part there is a sanitary facility, which can serve both for offices and for visitors to the restaurant, and is created in accordance with the standards for barrier-free use of structure

Restoration of the Hell inn in Tišnov

The subject of the bachelor's thesis is the preparation of documentation for building permits and part of the documentation for the construction on the basis of an architectural study, developed in the course AG35 - Restoration of Monuments Studio. The topic of this work was to find a suitable concept of a new functional use with regard to the historical nature of the monument and its technical condition. The design also included the new construction of a housing for the owners and the solution of all surrounding areas. The result was an architectural study with an emphasis on viability and feasibility. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is a gentle restoration of the building with an emphasis on its revitalization with newly incorporated functions and original expressive elements. The operation of the tasting cellar in the preserved Gothic cellar has returned to the inn. The cultural and social heart of the building became craft workshops with a shop selling handmade products and a multifunctional hall. The operation was supplemented by an accommodation unit for the building manager, this operation also includes a new extension, adjacent to the west wing, which housed the operation of a temporary warehouse on the 1st floor and the bathroom of the administrator on the 2nd floor. Last but not least, the attic of the building with a reconstructed truss was revived. This part works as a mobile and multipurpose space, which can be adapted to current needs for children's camps, as well as for lectures and reading. One of the significant characteristic elements of this work are atypical roof windows copying the curvature of the mansard roof. These windows visually connect outdoor life on the street and occasions in the attic. This expressive element is complemented by dark metal accents of the restored exterior gallery, steel frame edging of the window, illusory entrance gate and new extension.

Reconstruction of baroque granary in Bohutice

The subject of this bachelor thesis is reconstruction and adaptation with an emphasis on preservation of its original character (change of completed construction) former agricultural building in the village Bohutice, which is relatively rich in cultural monuments. The project is based on the subject AG033 Studio of Architectural Design III - Restoration of Monuments. The Baroque granary was built in the 18th century. It was originally built on the outskirts of the village to store and dry cereals. Later there was a change in the use of the granary and its subsequent construction changes and modifications. The last one in the Baroque granary was an interest in a company that planned to carve valuable wooden structures carrying floors and sell them to Italy. Thanks to the intervention of the present owner, Mr. Pavel Štefek, who applied for the declaration of the granary as an immovable cultural monument, the construction of the granary was preserved and the granaries fell to the new owner. This is a mixed building. On the first floor, there is primarily a café with facilities and a flexible classroom. On the second floor, there is a multifunctional hall with facilities and the third floor contains space for short-term living. One of the most significant elements of the design is the extension of the baroque granary, which is located on the north side of the parcel due to the limited size of the granary plot. From the beginning of the design, the intention was to preserve the genius loci of the place and the baroque granary, so the shape of the extension exactly follows the shape of the baroque granary, a simple block with a gabled roof. Only material solutions were differentiated due to different periods of two units, namely the original granaries and extensions. The building is thus divided into two main units. Restoration of the baroque rectory in Sebranice

The subject of this work is the restoration of the baroque rectory in Sebranice near Boskovice. The site is located in the center of the village and has good transport links due to the location on the main street of this village. The solved object is a two-storey building with a rectangular floor plan. The rectory building dates from the 18th century and is listed as an immovable cultural monument, which influences the methods of its restoration. The aim of the work was to prepare documentation for the building permit and part of the documentation for the construction on the basis of a previously prepared architectural study. During the renovation, the rectory was converted into a puppet museum at the request of the owners. Part of the building is dedicated to the short-term accommodation of the owners and a caretaker's apartment was also designed on the 1st floor. The arrangement of the outdoor space allows the use of the building for social purposes. In my proposal, i tried to be gentle and keep the rectory in the most authentic form. Demolition work and construction interventions were minimized. On the contrary, the original elements or their replicas were restored. An important point of the concept was to support the unique spirit of the place – genius loci. The different appearance of the south facade was enhanced by the use of a different color of plaster. This facade was not historically representative and in my design it is also part of a private space. Its different appearance helps to create two spaces with different functions - a representative public park and a private orchard.

Reconstruction of the Pohorelec at the JAMU Stage Design Studio

The aim of the bachelor thesis was to produce project documentation for building permission and part of the detail building documentation. The project was based on an architectural study made during the course AG34 Architectural Design Studio. The topic of the study was reconstruction and finding a new function for a building in the Brno city centre, Pohořelec street. The object is located in the historical centre of Brno close to Malinovské náměstí. Despite it is not a protected monument, but it is part of the Urban Conservation Area Brno. Particular emphasis was placed on preserving its original appearance and historical elements. The building dates from the post-war period and is built in a functionalist style. The building was redesigned for the purpose of the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno. It will become the headquarters of the Rectorate and Stage Design Studio. In the ground floor, there is a café with a small refreshment. The essence of the whole design is to preserve the original appearance while adapting the new function and maximizing the space. Therefore, the interventions in the building envelope are minimal and a main part of the changes are in the interior of the building.

Restoration of the chateau and manor house in Vážany nad Litavou

The topic of the bachelor’s thesis is the restoration of the chateau and manor courtyard in Vážany nad Litavou. Its goal was to prepare documentation for the building permit and parts of the documentation for the construction based on an architectural study which was made in the subject AG033 - Restoration of Monuments Studio. The chateau with the manor courtyard is located in the southern part of the municipality in the immediate vicinity of the centre and is counted among the oldest buildings in the village. Its construction began in the second part of the 16th century, the oldest surviving structures date back to the Renaissance period. The design puts emphasis on the preservation of the historical and architectural essence and the current character of the building in the most coherent form. The quality and state of repair of individual layers were examined. Part of the restoration concept also covered the reflection about the appropriate use of the discussed building. The building should serve as the municipal authority connected to the library and should also provide facilities for organizations and associations that function in the village (Community centre, Primary Art School Slavkov, breeders, hunters, etc.). The new function of the building responds to the existing unsatisfactory space of the library and the municipal office, which are currently located in a terraced house. The municipality was forced to solve this insufficient space by extensions to the house’s yard. Furthermore, the design responds to the needs of the residents who would welcome more events and activities for children and youth in the village. Thanks to the location of the building in the village centre and this new functional use, a new central public space for all events in the municipality would be created in Vážany nad Litavou.
