Production and use of specialized substrates and organic fertilizers in agriculture: Methodology for practice
Šimon, Tomáš ; Usťak, Sergej ; Váňa, Vojtěch
The aim of the methodology is to provide to farmers, agricultural advisors, gardeners, producers and users of organic fertilizers and cultivation substrates, research workers and agricultural educators and all other interested parties, the basic information on the possibilities to use specialized substrates and organic fertilizers in agriculture. Its application in practice can ensure environmentally acceptable and economically efficient fertilization of agricultural crops. In the introduction, the methodology provides a basic overview of literary information about the concerned issue. Furthermore, the methodology describes the results obtained during the research project, which can be used in practice and provides agrochemical, agronomic and economic assessment. Part of the methodology is the assessment of agrochemical efficiency of fertilizer application at the cultivation of selected agricultural crops. There are described application methods and effects on soil and plants. Finally, it provides a summary of the results achieved and general recommendations for practice.

Farming practices for efficient use of nitrogen and reduction of its losses: Certified methodology for practice
Klír, Jan ; Haberle, Jan ; Růžek, Pavel ; Šimon, Tomáš ; Svoboda, Pavel
The methodology describes the main risks of nitrogen losses and recommended practices for their reduction. Practically applicable methods for the evaluation of the nitrate leaching risk depending on the soil, crop, root range, croping system, irrigation and weather conditions are described in detail. Consequently, suitable soil treatments and fertilization are proposed to improve the utilization of the nitrogen and uniformity of the water soaking.

Alternative phosphorus nutrition of plants
Mikanová, Olga ; Šimon, Tomáš
The methodology summarizes the basic information on applicability of phosphorus solubilizing bacteria for inoculation of field crops. Specific procedures of isolation, screening, selection and maintaining of bacterial strains are described. The technology of inoculant production, and application techniques are involved. The methodology offers the use of inoculants as an alternative plant nutrition. Results of practical experiments show that P-solubilizing bacteria increase the utilization of phosphorus. Plant growth promoting microorganisms in the inoculant also support the root system and consequently uptake of all nutrients by plants.
