Complex chromosomal aberrations in bone marrow cells of adult patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS): frequency, mechanism of origin and clinical significance.
Rochlová, Kristina ; Zemanová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Novotná, Drahuše (referee)
Complex chromosomal aberrations occurs are described in approximately 20 % of patients with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and are associated with a poor prognosis. Nevertheless, the mechanism and possible causes responsible for the emergence of these aberrations are not fully understood. There are two models describing the emergence of these aberrations, namely shattering of single chromosomes or their parts during the so-called cellular crisis (chromothripsis) and/or progressive accumulation of chromosomal aberrations during the course of the disease (clonal evolution). Using combination of cytogenomic methods we examined 61 samples of bone marrow from adult patients with MDS and a complex karyotype. Unbalanced aberrations with loss of genetical material were found in most cases. Chromosomes 5, 7 and 12 were most frequently involved in rearrangements. Clonal development, chromothripsis and both mechanism was detected in 26, 12 and 14 patients, respectively. Patients with deleted chromosome 5 included in complex karyotype had the shortest overall survival. The cause of emergence of complex aberrations did not affect survival. Cytogenomic analysis of complex aberrations allows detection of balanced and unbalanced changes and identification of important processes of tumorigenesis such as clonal...
Kvalita služeb v zábavních tematických parcích
Novotná, Daniela
Novotná, D. Service quality at amusement and theme parks. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2020. This diploma thesis deals with the most important key service quality factors at amusement and theme parks in the Czech Republic from the point view of visitors. Poor posture in school-age children and possibilities of physiotherapeutical influence
NOVOTNÁ, Dominika
This bachelor's thesis deals with poor posture of school-age children and the possibilities of physiotherapeutic influence. Poor posture is becoming more and more topical and number of children with poor posture is increasing. One of the most common causes is the inappropriate lifestyle of today's children, when children spend most of the day sitting at school and then at home at the computer or television. The bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the anatomy of the musculoskeletal system, more precisely the spine, pelvis and legs. The next chapter describes correct and defective posture, how defective posture can be investigated and factors influencing poor posture. The last chapter of the theoretical part contains the characteristics of school age. The main goal of this bachelor's thesis is to design our own exercise unit for school-age children with poor posture, which is then used for exercise with three probands with poor posture. This exercise unit was processed into an educational brochure and attached to the bachelor's thesis. A partial goal of the work is the analysis of the most common causes of poor posture of children and another partial goal is to propose prevention of this problem. The practical part was carried out in the form of qualitative research. The research includes three school-age probands with whom the therapy was done according to my proposed exercise unit. The practical part contains anamnesis, initial kinesiological analysis and descriptions of individual therapies. The therapies took place from the beginning of February 2020 to the middle of April 2020, when a joint therapy took place every week and the rest of the week the probands had to train at home according to the exercise brochure and exercises they learned on the therapy. All patients have improved, so research shows that therapy for children with poor posture is beneficial, but probands must continue the learned exercise to improve their posture significantly. This work can be used as an educational material for children and parents, or in the clinical practice of physiotherapists.
Using the CLIL method for preparation of selected topics from Human Physiology at lower-secondary level
NOVOTNÁ, Denisa
Diploma thesis deals with the use of the CLIL method in biology lessons and its using for preparation of selected topics from Human Biology at lower-secondary level. The aim of the thesis was to study Czech and foreign literature which is concentrated on CLIL method and its integration into the Biology teaching, further was described the characteristics of this teaching method and were included the concrete examples of using this method in teaching lessons. The main aim of the thesis was to design and verify two teaching units in the field of Human Biology teaching at lower-secondary level. Within each teaching unit students solved a practical task from Biology, and they also acquired knowledge and vocabulary related to a concrete topic. Based on the verification of teaching units in practice was developed methodical recommendations for teachers interested in introducing the CLIL method into their lessons. The analysis of the pupil's worksheets showed that pupils were able to do most of the tasks on their own however certain activities caused problems to them and therefore was needed more guidance from the teacher. The instructions of some activities were necessary to repeat several times due to elimination of possible mistakes in pupil's worksheets. Observing the experimental teaching it was found out that the majority of students did not have difficulty to communicate in English about issues related to selected biological topics and the foreign language was not an obstacle for them in understanding the content of the subject. The important information was told in the mother tongue because of the less language-skilled pupils.
