Assessing Adaptation Measures in a Selected 4th Order Watershed
Plevková, Miroslava ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav
The aim of this study is to propose and evaluate adaptation measures within the selected 4th order watershed (4-15-03-104). The primary goal of these proposed measures is to stabilize the water regime in the landscape and manage extreme hydrological phenomena, as well as to mitigate erosion risks in the territory. This approach aims to create a harmonious landscape aligning with the fundamental principles of sustainable development. Prior to the proposal, the territory underwent a detailed analysis based on available data and field reconnaissance. The research compares two variants with the current state of the landscape. Variant 1 utilizes historical maps as a foundation, while variant 2 incorporates measures designed to optimize the landscape in response to ongoing climate change.
Threats to Chosen Locality by Surface Runoff, Water Erosion, and Surface Water Pollutants
Buršík, Lukáš ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav ; Sobotková, Veronika ; Kulihová, Martina ; Pavlíková, Marcela
This paper aims to provide information about threats to a chosen locality in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic, specifically focusing on surface runoff and water erosion. The geographic information system ArcGIS Pro was primarily used for the analysis. This paper also deals with contamination of surface water by pollutants which are produced by an agricultural company in the locality. For this reason, water samples were taken from a stream and subsequently analysed in a chemical laboratory. In terms of soils erosion proneness, it was discovered that most of the area consists of unthreatened soils. Regarding the chemical analysis of surface water, it was found that the results obtained are affected by the season of the sampling (wet or dry) in terms of water volume in the stream.

Aim of this study is to identify the pathways of concentrated surface runoff with assistance of digital terrain model in the river basin of Svratka and evaluate quantity and type of endangered grounds.
The design study of biotechnical erosion and flood control measures in the catchment of Jičínka river
Škrabal, Tomáš ; Ing.Kateřina Vašinová, PhD., (referee) ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav (advisor)
The main subject of this diploma thesis is a study of a suggestion of environmentally friendly adjustments in the basin of Jičínka, working as preventive protection against floods. The study contains a research of the stated area using the method of CN-curves in the hydrological model DesQ-MaxQ and the principle of Wischmeier-Smith's equation, in modicication of ArcGIS programme. Based on the analysis, the work suggests an improvement of erosive and drain ratios and then an assessment of effectiveness of the protection. We get the assessment of the effectiveness by comparing the condition of the erosive wash and the surface drain before and after implementation of our measures. The work also sets its goal in calculating the financial returnability of the investition indicatively.
Using the Erosion Potential Method in the Czech Republic
Hloušek, Jakub ; Larišová, Lucie (referee) ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav (advisor)
The aim of this thesis was the evaluation of the loss of soil for the area of interest, located in the north-western part of the Němčického basin, in the district of Blansko. The calculation was made using two methods, namely erosion potential method (EPM), commonly used in Serbia and the Wischmeier-Smith universal soil loss equation (USLE), used in Czech Republic. Finally, both of these methods were compared with each other. Both methods use a different method of calculation. USLE method utilizes the universal equation for calculating the long-term average soil loss per year (G), the EPM method utilizes equation for specific average annual soil loss (Wsp, Wy). The calculation was performed with both methods in program ArcGIS while the USLE method was also supplemented with calculation of the factor (LS) with USLE2D program. When comparing the soil loss each of evaluated areas, the EPM achieved higher values of soil loss in the most of them. In contrast to the USLE method, the EPM the total loss of the soil from the evaluated areas also accounted the soil loss from forest areas. In terms of accuracy of the achieved real world results, it was determined that the conditions in the Czech Republic are more suitable for the USLE method and not only due to more accurate data input, but also because with EPM there is no factor that would better reflect the topographic factor and conditions of surface runoff in the territory.
Sustainable production capabilities of territory, depending on climatic drought.
Skůpová, Jana ; Uhrová,, Jana (referee) ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav (advisor)
In this work, I dealt with the repercussion of drought on agriculture and land in the cadastral Jinošov. For this area, I analyzed the erosion and ratio of outflow. I also conducted a proposal of adaptation measures against erosion and water retention in the area. In conclusion, I analyzed withholding data and assessed the retention before and after the proposal of adaptation measures. The result of my work is finding that rainfall is inadequate and largely come out of the growing season, that despite all the measures fail to create on the necessary retention for the correct functioning of the landscape. Therefore it is necessary to solve water supply from other areas where is sufficient supply of water.
Analysis of erosion and runoff conditions in a selected catchment areas
Pavliš, Jaroslav ; Uhrová,, Jana (referee) ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav (advisor)
The subjekt of this Bachelor thes is was to develop ananalytic alanalysis of erosion and run off conditions in certain sub-basins. The analysis is performed in the area of interest, which consist soft he cadastral areas of Lubná u Poličky, Sebranice u Litomyšle, Kamenec u Poličky, Polička (Střítež), Lezník and Široký Důl. Erosion run off and run off conditions were analyzed on the basis of a total of 16 variants including the use off ivecomputational algorithms for factor L and S, culent state, chmate chase affecting factor R and K, and variol agrotechnical and organizational measures affecting factor ca P. For presentation of map and computational The ArcGIS program was used for the results of erosion and the Desq program was used for run off conditions, where the mutual data processing was enabled by the USLE 2D program. These results can then determine possible protective anti-erosion measures against property damage, which would be part of a comprehensive landscaping.
The effect of changes of rain erosivity factor on the proposal of soil and water conservation measures in the selected watershed
Vlčanová, Veronika ; PhD, Ing František Pavlík, (referee) ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav (advisor)
The subject of the diploma thesis was the evaluation of erosion and drainage conditions in the cadastral area of Čejkovice in the Morava basin and the subsequent proposal of protective measures. The erosion analysis and the subsequent design of the protective measures were carried out in four variants depending on the increasing R factor. In conclusion, the scope of individual protective measures for each variant was evaluated.
The design of complex soil conservation measures in given watershed as a concept of Complex Land Consolidation in cadaster Sedlnice
Dohnal, David ; Pavlík, Ing František (referee) ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav (advisor)
The aim was to evaluate the erosion and drainage conditions in cadastre Sedlnice. To propose land erosion and water management measures to optimize land erosion and improve runoff conditions of the landscape.
Evaluating the effectiveness of complex protection measures in cadastral area Jerlochovice in Husí potok Watershed
Matoušek, Petr ; Sobotková, Veronika (referee) ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav (advisor)
A subject of this Thesis is the design of the complex system of measures of soil conservation in given catchment area, which will serve as a concept of complex land consolidation in cadaster Jerlochovice. Based on the analysis and the land survey, a feasible solution was designed using the hydrological and erosive tools of ArcGIS. For the identification of areas endangered by erosion and for the identification of runoff conditions, the Universal Soil Loss Equation of Wischmeier-Smith was used (in grid modification). Based on the calculated values, the suitable technical and agrotechnical measures of soil erosion control were designed. Each component was designed for the values of Qn from the model DesQ. Subsequently the efectivity of the designed measures was evaluated by the comparison of results of erosive and runoff conditions before and after the aplication of the soil and water conservation measures.
