Texture analysis of tumor in lung CT data

The aim of this work is the revelation of the possibility of the use of texture analysis methods to detection and segmentation tumor tissue in patient’s lungs and classification viable areas of tumor tissue. The main assumption includes the possibility that there are differences of textural properties between tumor and surrounding tissues and changes of these features during development and treatment of this disease. The work deals with the creation of vector of texture features which is composed of some methods of texture analysis and then processed by methods of cluster analysis in programming environment Matlab®.
Tracking of Axonal Bundles in Diffusion MRI Brain Images

The aim of this work is to design tracking algorithm which will be able to track brain axonal bundles in diffusion weighted MRI data. Estimation of anisotropic diffusion profile inside voxels was performed by diffusion tensor imaging model (DTI). Tracing is based on the 4th order Runge-Kutta method. Algorithm is implemented in the MATLAB computing environment and is tested on real data biological phantom.
Indication of the microplates position

This work deals with designing and constructing device which can indicate position of the microplates. This includes hardware design, block chart and utility software. Next important section deals with software design of graphical user interfaces and how to control the microcontroller. The final product is a hardware tool that uses array of 96 two-color LED to indicate the position in microplate. This product will be operated at Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University in Brno.
Software for Image Processing of Infrared Thermograms of the Lower Limbs of Diabetic Patients

The aim of this paper is to present a software that deals with the automatic processing of the thermal images of the soles of the lower limbs. This software allows to judge some important temperature details, which can help a lot during the clinical diagnosing of the diabetic foot disease or the other foot problems, such as neuropathic arthropathy or charcot arthropathy. In this paper, it is possible to find a description of the algorithm of the software as well as a presentation of the results of the analyzed thermal images.
Simulation of synthetic diffusion tensor data

First there is the Gaussian diffusion tensor model with the most important equations introduced. The other part of this work deals with the software and its current state of development. The software calculates diffusion tensor data from diffusion tensor and acquisition parameters successfully. User can add noise to simulated data and then estimate diffusion tensor in reverse. Original and estimated diffusion tensors are displayed, compared and their deviation in space determined.
Plasmide DNA Isolation from Bacteria and Transfection to HEK293 Cell Line

Isolation DNA is a one of the basic methods in molecular biology. There are several methods of DNA amplification and isolation. In this paper phenol-chloroform extraction of three plasmid types is used: Channelrhodopsin-2, ASAP and KIR. Seven plasmids were isolated in total. These plasmids are then validated using gel electrophoresis. Successfully isolated plasmids are then transfected to HEK293 and taken on confocal microscope 24 hours after transfection.
Removing Methods of Power Line Interference In ECG Signals

The paper deal with the efficiency of digital linear filtration of 12 types FIR and IIR filters used for removing power line interference from ECG signals. For testing was used database of CSE signals, containing 3750 ECG. Comparing of methods was programed in Matlab, the language of technical computing.
Finger Vein Biometric System

The aim of this paper is hardware realization and testing of a simple system for biometric user authentication based on finger veins detection. Proposed biometric system is cheap and able to achieve matching accuracy (EER) of 8,96 % for a testing group of 12 people. Crosscorrelation of vein patterns is used for comparison of extracted features with templates. This approach gives interesting results.
RFID Signal Analyzer Using SDR Principles Based on USB DVB-T Receiver

This work deals with the implementation of a vector signal analyzer based on a USB DVB-T receiver. Development of the analyzer is focused on its future use in RFID applications operating in UHF band. In order to fulfil the requirement for a low cost product, the whole project is based on an affordable USB DVB-T receiver. The Software Defined Radio approach is used for transforming USB DVB-T receiver into signal analyzer.
Metodika odstraňování vrstev korozních produktů z povrchu kovových předmětů pomocí nízkotlakého plazmatu

Metodika řeší aplikaci nízkotlakého plazmatu pro šetrnější odstraňování vrstev korozních produktů z kovových archeologických nálezů. Jedná se o tzv. „suchou metodu“, to znamená, že samotný předmět není ovlivněn vodou ani rozpouštědly. Aplikace vede k částečné až úplné desalinaci povrchu předmětu a zejména výrazné snížení koncentrace chloridů. Výhodou je aplikovatelnost současně na větší počty předmětů. Aplikací postupu lze dosáhnout i výrazného zrychlení procesu odstraňování korozních vrstev za aplikace nižší síly. Metodu je možné použít i na ošetření předmětů zhotovených z mědi a jejích slitin, kdy je třeba zachovat i vrstvu ušlechtilé patiny. V tomto případě je ale nezbytné pečlivé zvážení aplikace zkušeným konzervátorem, protože je obtížné jasně odlišit neušlechtilou a ušlechtilou patinovou vrstvu.
