Rights of national minorities in the Czechoslovak Republic and their application Abstract This thesis deals with the rights of national minorities in the Czechoslovak Republic. The introduction is devoted to a brief outline of the situation before the establishment of Czechoslovakia and also the situation just after its establishment and the adoption of a new state by minorities. The core of the work is the analysis of national regulation, especially the constitutional level and language law, as well as the analysis of international law, from which the national regulation was derived greatly. The thesis is also devoted to outlining the functioning of the international system for the protection of minorities within the League of Nations and its establishment. An important part for understanding the issue of the rights of national minorities is to compare their protection in several European countries that had the same international obligations to protect minorities as the Czechoslovak Republic, namely Hungary, Poland and Romania.
