94 THESIS TITLE LAND CONSOLIDATION AND ITS RELATIONSHIP TO ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION RESUME The aim of my thesis is a partial analysis of the relationship amongst land consolidation process, reinstatement of private property after 1990, environment and private property constitutional protection. The process of land consolidation is a special tool, which helps to create preconditions for rational land keeping. The special legal statutes (mainly law No. 139/2002 Sb.) that regulate the land consolidation in the Czech Republic, creates a framework for these operations. The thesis includes a land consolidation historical overview, which is the key to the understanding of the land consolidation consequences for private property and relating landscape changes. The next chapter depicts the land consolidation importance, in the process of post communist private land property transformation in the 1990's. This further outlines the most important changes of the new land consolidation law, which came into force on 1st January 2003 (statute no. 139/2002 Sb.).
