Communication disorders in relation to school maturity and the child's preparation for first grade

The thesis deals with the topic of communication disorders in relation to school maturity and the child's preparation for first grade. The theoretical part is devoted to the theoretical definition of the issue of school maturity and readiness, with an emphasis on communication skills and the impact of impaired communication skills on first grade education. It also focuses on the possibilities of developing a child's communication skills before entering first grade. One of the chapters focuses on Elkonin's stimulating language skills training program. The practical part of the thesis is conducted by qualitative method of investigation through semi-structured interviews with a clinical speech therapist, a special educator - speech therapist and a speech therapy assistant. The practical part explores the developmental opportunities for the child with impaired communication skills and the benefits of the Elkonin programme for training language skills for impaired communication skills in preparation for the start of compulsory schooling. Options of development of partial functions of pre-school children Abstract This thesis is focused on issue of the development of partial functions in preschool age and mapping of the course of development of partial functions in kindergartens in Karlovy Vary Region and Prague. The task of the theoretical part is to define the notions of partial functions and partial functions deficits and to explain their relationship to specific learning disabilities. It describes the characteristics of preschool age and options of development of partial functions in its course. It includes basic information about school maturity, pedagogical- psychological diagnostics of children in kindergartens. It mentions also the child's enrollment in the first grade of primary school and school attendance delay. The aim of practical part is to map the access of kindergarten teachers to options of development of partial functions in Karlovy Vary Region and Prague, comparing the survey results obtained in these two regions and supplement obtained data with the information gathered from the interview. Art therapy with children before entering elementary school

This thesis is focused on Art Therapy with children before entering elementary school. These children had been granted deferred schooling and at the time of this study attended a preparatory year of elementary school. The theoretical part is dealing with a child on the edge of preschool and school age. In the first chapter there are described the concepts of school readiness and maturity, postponement of school attendance and its solution in the form of a preparatory year of primary school. It is also mentioned, what should be the care of children with postponed school, how it looks and develops creative expression of preschool children and children in younger school age. The work is devoted to Art Therapy with children. At the beginning of the practical part there are defined several goals. Further description is mentioned art therapy work with children in pre-school age. Then they described the methods and forms of work, the following summary of specific knowledge of art therapy activities with children before entering elementary school. An important part of the practical are the cases of two children from preparatory classes and their ongoing obtained artistic production. At the end of each case study is a summary of art therapy work with a particular child - its artistic expression and shift in it, after the case of changes in art production.
Working with children with delayed schooling

Bachelor thesis titled Working with children with delayed schooling deals with children who remain in kindergarten a year longer due to delay school. The work introduces the developmental characteristics of children. It explains concepts such as school readiness, school readiness, school immaturity.. The last area of the theoretical concerns Framework educational program for pre-school educaion. In the practical part introduces the results of the survey. The work investigates whether and how teachers work with children delayed schooling and make sure that the child is an individual education plan. It was rurther investigated with whom cooperates kindergaten in the diagnosis of the child.

Thesis "Child with school attendance delay" covers problems connected with school attendance delay of children of preschool age. The thesis is devided into theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part consists of five chapters in which preschool age is mentioned and somatic, motoric and cognitive development of child described. This part also focuses on development of drawing, speaking and emotional experiences of preschool age children including their socialization. In the meantime it defines terms of school maturity, preparedness for school and school immaturity. Theoretical part is finished with a chapter about school attendance delay of preschool age children. Practical part is based on results of a test of Predictive reading battery, questionnaire research and personal diagnostic research. Then through analysis of statistic dates of Moravske Budejovice the most frequent month in which school attendance delayed children were borned is assesed, number of delays and number of boys and girls here is compared for the last six months. These results are compared with school attendance delays in Vysocina region and in The Czech Republic.
