Digitally controlled triangle-, square- and harmonic wave generator
Bradáč, Lubomír ; Koton, Jaroslav (referee) ; Vrba, Kamil (advisor)
Feasible solutions of digitally controlled triangle-, square- and harmonic wave generators are described in this bachelor´s thesis. There is general description of wave generators at the beginning. We can divide the wave generators to two groups. The first group of them are Arbitrary Waveform Generators and the next group is presenting Arbitrary Function Generators which are working with Direct Digital Synthesis. There are descriptions of their features, possibility of using, advantages and disadvantages in bachelor´s thesis. Of consequence part there are plug-in cards which are used as functional generators and multifunction cards. Their principal characteristics are described in relevant chapter. The most important part of this bachelor´s thesis is suggestion of digitally controlled triangle-, square- and harmonic wave generator which make use microcontroller of company ATMEL. You can find the process of execution, description its features and controlling program in the last chapter. All of measured results are saved in compact disc which is part of bachelor´s thesis.
Frequency Synthesizers
Lapčík, Josef ; Špaček, Jiří (referee) ; Dřínovský, Jiří (advisor)
This diploma thesis concerns with analysis and dividing of frequency synthesizers and design of DDS, PLL synthesizers. Base types of frequency synthesizers are described including differences between methods of their operation. Base circuits of both – DDS and PLL synthesizers and other important circuits are described in details at design part of this thesis. Design of DDS and PLL synthesizer is described in particular sections. Both synthesizers are directly realized and stand-alone control applications are created. PLL synthesizer is also ready to control thru Agilent VEE program environment. Particular example application is designed in Agilent VEE. This application is used as basis of attached lab project.
Precise Frequency Generator - DDS
Kratochvíl, Petr ; Vágner, Petr (referee) ; Baran, Ondřej (advisor)
This work deals with frequency generators based on the direct digital synthesis method DDS. Basic principles and attributes of the frequency generator DDS are explained. The text describes parameters influencing and defining a quality of the generated signal. The list of available integrated circuits realizing the direct digital synthesis is mentioned. A construction of the DDS generator with a device AD9954 and the generator control are described. At the end of the work, the function and parameters of the designed generator are verified.
Communication Systems with Digital Modulations
Spáčil, Jan ; Kubánek, David (referee) ; Číž, Radim (advisor)
The purpose of this semestral project is to explain the basic issues of simple digital modulations through the creation of simple digital modulations using direct digital synthesis. It begins with a short review of digital modulation theory and the theory about direct digital synthesis. All the technical documentation is attached, including schematics and boards of functional modulator.
Signal generator for analog measurement approach
Gottwald, Petr ; Bohrn, Marek (referee) ; Fujcik, Lukáš (advisor)
The purpose of this bachelor thesis is the design of Xilinx XC3S200A FPGA-based, digital function generator for generating of sine waves, triangular waves and rectangular waves for evaluation of analog circuit characteristics. In the theoretical section of the thesis, basics of spectral analysis, digital-to-analog conversion and three most often used methods for digital signal synthesis (DDS, PWM, sigma-delta) are discussed. In the practical section of the thesis, DDS generator blocks are designed and described in VHDL language. The generator is intended to be fully controllable from PC computer via USB interface. PC control application was also designed. Analog circuits needed for output signal conditioning were designed and simulated. Simulation results are compared with measurement results in the final section of this thesis.
Laboratory current source with direct digital synthesis
Pěčonka, David ; Hejtmánek, Tomáš (referee) ; Mikulka, Jan (advisor)
The work deals with the design of a laboratory generator with a current output for supplying elements with a maximum impedance in units of k. The text itself discusses the designs of individual parts of the device and the choice of suitable components for their implementation. The sub-chapters deal with the design process of the power supply and digital parts are followed by the mechanical construction of the source, which ends with the verification of the expected properties of the designed and constructed source. The result of the work is a source with a current output of up to ±10 mA with the possibility of parameterization of the frequency, amplitude and shape of the signal using control elements and also digitally using the universal serial bus. The signal is generated using a direct digital synthesis (DDS) system. The generator itself is supplied by a rechargeable battery.
