Roles and Positions of Expatriats in Selected Organisations

The master's thesis investigates the employment of foreigners in the Czech Republic, work, personal, and family life of expatriats, community life and other influence over the integration of expatriats. In the theoretical part there are drawn up basic theoretical attitudes to these problems. In the practical part you can find the results of the interviews realized with expatriats. On the basis of the results the analysis of quality data was realized and the changes were suggested. They are aimed to make easy and streamline cooperation of all parties concerned.

Diplomová práce má za cíl navrhnout koncept účinné přípravy expatriotů na jejich působení v České republice. K dosažení tohoto cíle byla zvolena kombinace studia relevantních teoretických rámců a provedení vlastního výzkumu v podobě dotazníkového šetření o délce 35 otázek. Dotazník byl předložen expatriotům působícím v České republice. Navržený koncept lze uplatnit na přípravu expatriotů vyslaných mezinárodními firmami a expatriotů, kteří mají záměr působit v ČR z vlastní iniciativy.
The Imigrants and their Adaptation in the Czech Republic after 1989

and key words Content of this bachelor thesis is based on a written professional case study of an immigrant group, concentrated on expatriates in the Czech Republic after the year 1989. It is an elaboration of data and detailed analysis of immigrants called expatriates, in other words immigrants in our country. Work is conceived on read literature, fieldwork and with the support of lectures at the Institute of Ethnology at the Faculty of Arts of Charlese University in Prague. The project deals mainly with issues of migration, immigration and its development from the year 1989 till today's date. Therefore it is retrospective view on a given subject and reflects the situation in our country. Offers theoretical framework, definitions and explanations of significant aspects in the area of international migration to the Czech Republic and its development.
Acculturation of Expatriates in the Czech Cultural Environment

Acculturation of the sample of expatriate senior managers - sojourners working in the Czech Republic was studied using structured longitudinal survey. Quantitative analysis of the survey data was supported by qualitative analysis. For comparison, the process o acculturation was also investigated in the sample o immigrant senior managers to Australia. Major aim of this research was, apart from gaining theoretical knowledge, an attempt to better understand the process of cultural adaptation of sojourners - senior managers responsible for the transfer of management know-how to companies in the Czech Republic in order to improve their competitive advantage. The success of adaptation of sojourners - senior managers in the Czech Republic was studied using indicators of adaptation success (Reflective Effect Indicators-REI) including Goldberg's General Health Questionnaire (GHQ) and satisfaction scales. Research was longitudinal, the first interview was conducted about six months, and the second interview was conducted about eighteen months after arrival of investigated subjects into the new cultural environment. Analysis of foreign clients’ service level on the Czech banking market

This Thesis deals with the analysis of foreign clients' service level on the Czech banking market. The main aim is to evaluate the level of foreign clients' service at selected branches and specialised centres of five largest domestic banks, using the method of Mystery Shopping. Evaluation is enhanced by a survey which questions the satisfaction of foreigners with current banking services and their interest regarding specialised centres. Based on the results of the analysis the final recommendations are provided to banks and three determined hypotheses are confirmed or disproved. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part is focused on general specifications of the basic concepts and legislative regulations which have an essential influence on foreign clients on the Czech market, the evolution in the number of foreigners in the Czech Republic, the Czech banking market including profiles of domestic banks and the definition of marketing research. The practical part includes preparation and implementation of research at the bank branches, a survey among foreigners, research outcomes and subsequent recommendations to banks.
