Using Business Intelligence Tools to Support Decision Making Processes

This bachelor thesis deals with the evaluation of the current state of the use of Business Intelligence tools in a selected company operating in the transport and logistics sector. Based on the theoretical background and the identified room for improvement, a proposal is formulated for the implementation and integration of Microsoft Power BI into the company's internal processes, in order to streamline decision-making processes.

This thesis deals with the analysis of the company's database system and the subsequent database design based on the analysis. The company whose database is being designed is engaged in the installation and servicing of garage doors and operators. The first part of the thesis deals with the theoretical background and introduces the issues of the database. The following chapter analyses the current status of the database in the selected company. The third part builds on the second and contains the actual database design for this company.

Proposal of Part of Information System as a Support for Managerial Tasks

The goal of this bachelor thesis is to create a proposal for a part of company's information system. Based on the current state analysis of the company's information system and the SWOT analysis, the requirements for the new information system were defined. Using data and functional modeling, the design of a partial part of the information system for solving managerial tasks is presented in order to unify the analyzes and outputs performed by sales representatives, to increase their work efficiency and facilitate the manager's control over the performance of his co-workers.

The diploma thesis focuses on design of the information system for the department of medical transport service, which is part of the hospital. This thesis describes the theoretical knowledge necessary for analysis and custom design, is also concerned with the analysis of the current state of processes and information system. Last but not least, based on the analysis and the requirements lays down suggestions for improvement of the information system and design of optimal information system, that effectively supports the processes and enables its users to work more efficiently.

Data storage architecture for manufacturing processes

The aim of the thesis is to develop a concept of an information system for collecting and processing data from an industrial process, which will be a part of a complex monitoring system as a whole chain from the sensor to the information system. The thesis briefly describes decision making process of a HMI device selection – Weintek cMT-SVR-100 visualization server, which is able to transfer data acquired from PLC’s via Modbus TCP over Ethernet to a remote MySQL database in the internet. Its main properties and output data structure was described. The thesis presents data and process model of the database and a web application design as a user interface. The web app allows users to access the system via general web browser at any platform and/or device. The thesis also presents testing of the system and its results.

The aim of the study is to create system analysis, create process and data model, to solve the problematics of the documented entities lifecycles, solve problems of system access, including user roles. Then to implement the system, debug it and verify it's functionality.

Database Design for a Small Company

This bachelor thesis describes the design of relational database for a small company engaged in sales and authorized repairs of sensitive electronic devices. Main target of the database solution will be the support and increase of process efficiency focused mainly on device maintenance and its planning within the company. Thesis is composed of three consecutive parts. First part defines theoretical foundations needed for understanding the issue of data modeling. The second part deals with the analysis of a current state of the company. Data model, design of which is the matter of third part of this thesis, will be built on the outcome of analysis of the company and its internal processes. Thesis then contains evaluation and expected benefits for the company.
