Racism and its Narrative Representation in Art

The diploma thesis deals with theme of racism and its narrative representation in art. It consists of three main parts. The first part of thesis defines racism and explains essential themes and concepts which bear on racism. It also briefly points out the historical development of racism. In the second part thesis deals with the narratology as theory of narrative. It explains what the story is and shows the main parts of each story - event, character, environment. In the third and last part of thesis, it focuses on analysis of selected film and literary stories where is rasism the important topic. It focuses on the way of picture the racism in narrative structure and its impact on characters and human society. That part describes storyline or characters related to racism.
Sexuality as a storylinig element in the present television soap operas

A diploma thesis deals with sexuality as a storylining element in Czech soap operas. The sample contains long-running relational series that were broadcasted by television stations in October-November 2013. Specifically, there were series Cesty domů 2, Gympl s (r)učením omezeným, Ulice and Ordinace v růžové zahradě 2. There were used quantitative content analysis to detection the frequency of sexuality and qualitative narrative analysis to explore the context and way for create the plot. The categories of behavior and conversation containing elements of sexuality were analyzed in the study. During the preparation of the categories, I was inspired by research "How much sex is there in soap operas on British TV?" that was realized by Rami Al - Sayed and Barrie Gunter in 2012. I analyzed the elements of sexuality that create the storyline during the research. I examined the particular scenes where did appear the correlation of story to the previous and following events and debates . I focused on the explicit and implicit exposure of sexuality in the series. If there was an aspect of sexuality without storylining function I tried to find the reason for the occurrence in the series. The Prose Fiction of Miloš Urban within the Frame of Key Narrative Categories

(in English): The bachelor's diploma thesis deals with the prose fiction of Miloš Urban and aims at a complex interpretation of his work with the help of the key narratives categories. The text of the thesis is based on textual analysis and application of established narrative concepts and categories. Therefore, it covers the categories of the plot, protagonists, space, time and the narrator; each category is first specified in its general terms and then applied to the analysis of specific texts.
