Vietnamese cultural standards and their impact on the life of Vietnamese in the Czech Republic

The dissertation focuses on Vietnamese culture from the perspective of the Hofstede´s model of cultural dimensions and also describes its development and the factors that shaped it. Emphasis is laid on Vietnamese business etiquette, which includes previously discovered evidence of a Vietnamese way of thinking and acting. Attention is also paid to the characteristics of the Vietnamese minority in the Czech Republic, the static data related to this minority and evaluation of its integration. The goal of the research is to reveal the cultural differences between Vietnamese and Czech society and describe the influence of the Czech environment on original cultural values and habits of members of the Vietnamese minority in the Czech Republic.
Cultural and business specifics - Japan

The bachelor thesis is dealing with cultural and business specifics of Japan. The introduction approaches country from geographic, demographic, political and cultural perspective. In the next chapter the author describes the Japanese market not only in economic terms, but attention is also paid to cultural aspects of the Japanese market and its current trends. Consequently it is characterized the process of business dealing and business etiquette in Japan. The second part classifies the cultural differences between Japan and Czech Republic using Hofstede's dimensions. The knowledge derived from them was compared with the results of my own research. Research was conducted through a questionnaire that aimed to compare and analyze changes in attitude and behavior of the Japanese for the last decades.
Specifics of Entrepreneurial Environment, Business and Cultural Customs of the region Rhone-Alpes

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to analyse the entrepreneurial environment and outline specifics of business negotiation and cultural customs of the French region Rhône-Alpes and also to verify the theory that the region is suitable for entrance of Czech entrepreneurs. The paper could serve as a comprehensive guide for potencial investors, entrepreneurs and business representatives. The body of the thesis is divided into seven chapters. The introductory chapter provides basic characteristics of the region from the administrative, geographic, demographic and historic point of view. The second chapter analyses economical environment, industry, agriculture, infrastructure, tourism and foreign trade of the region. The content of the third chapter is evalution of technological environment that plays a very important role in the region. The fourth chapter is focused on business customs, etiquette and cultural specifics, whose knowledge is essential for successful business cooperation. The fifth chapter evaluates attractiveness of the entrepreneurial environment and names its strengths and weaknesses. The sixth chapter is dedicated to cooperation between the Czech Republic and the region. The last chapter contains questionnaire and results of questionnaire inquiry. The paper is based on Czech and foreign books and internet sources, statistics made by international organizations and is amended by information provided by Mr. Martin Dytrych from the French-Czech Business Chamber and personal experience of entrepreneurs.
Business and cultural differences in Congo

First part of this study is dedicated to basic information about Congo such as geography, history, political and economic situation. Following part is about a cultural specialties. It describes inhabitants, their languages and religions, traditions and customs or also social situation of women and children. Last section is focused on dissimilarities of trade negotiations with Congolese partners and all important points that foreigners should remember.

This bachelor thesis deals with the media effects on the field of business etiquette in Czech Republic. The aim of my thesis is to describe how media influence, what effects they have and how they participate in creating media reality. The thesis also defines and analyses the media effects on business etiquette. In the first part there are defined terms such as etiquette, business etiquette and its basic rules or business ethics. Second part deals with the media effects and influences on individuals and society from theoretical point of view. The last part of the thesis is focused on observing particular effects of media products on etiquette. There is also suggested my own business etiquette-oriented column for a printed periodical.

Business and Cultural Specifics of Burma

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to outline the process of business negotiation in Burma, business etiquette and cultural specifics of the country and also to verify the hypothesis that they are so different from our practices as to prevent citizens of the Czech Republic and Burma from communicating and doing business with each other, or that they distinctively complicate these matters. The paper should serve as a comprehensive guide for future investors, entrepreneurs, business representatives and other people, who want to learn something more about this country. The body of the thesis is divided into four chapters, whereas the introductory chapter provides basic characteristics of the country such as history, geography, demography, administrative division of the country and the current political situation. The second chapter is focused on the economic stuation and business relations between Burma and the Czech Republic with an emphasis on basic conditions of the use of Czech products in the local marketplace. The third chapter is an analysis of business practices and etiquette, and the last chapter concentrates on specific features of Burmese culture, whose knowledge constitutes a basic prerequisite for misunderstanding the nature of the local population and establishment of successful business relations. The paper is based on Czech and foreign books and internet resources, statistics made by international organizations,observations of guide Radka Tkáčiková, personal experience of foreign business representatives operating in Burma and information provided by Ing. Ivan Chválny from the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bangkok.
Comparison of Czech and Russian Deal Etiquette

The thesis focuses on the comparison of Russian and Czech business etiquette. It analyses various situations of the business meeting etiquette, when businessmen are encountered with their international partners. To every situation there are universal rules of business protocol assigned. These rules are completed with the national features of Russian and Czech etiquette. In the thesis, following situations are closely described: the process of greeting and introducing ? etiquette of speech, handshaking and business cards; protocol rules of the course of the meetings including psychological rules of dealing correctly. A brief excursus on the questions of business lunches and the issues of the right choice of presents for the international partner and its presenting follows.
Professional etiquette in business contacts

The goal of this work is to define the professional etiquette from the perspective of business enterprise of two countries the Czech Republic and Spain. In term of surveyed task, the author focused specifically on the communication alternatives verbal {--} personal, telephonic, written and non - verbal forms. Communication serves as a key phenomenon affecting commercial contact between managers. Therefore, the author considers communication as one of the most essential aspects from which the etiquette rules can be perceptible and consequently judged. She described what are the formal rules while using each of the communicative method, marked out their positive and negative features and pointed out to the tiny divergences in understanding and applying of communication rules by the businessmen in mentally distinguished countries. In the final part of her work, the author compared analytically particular mental manifestations of each nationality, which project to the businessmen´s intercultural interference.
Particularities of corporate environment, cultural and business customs of Jamaica

In my bachelor thesis I focus on the analysis of corporate environment, cultural and business customs of Jamaica. I aim at the introduction of this small country to foreign investors in order to help them learn more about its market. My thesis is divided into four parts according to PEST analysis that describes four different sections of business environment. The first chapter involves the basic data about Jamaica including geography, history and population of the country. The second chapter takes into consideration the first part of PEST analysis - legal and political environment of Jamaica. The next section is deducated to the economy of Jamaica and the specific role of direct foreign investments. The core part of my thesis is represented by the fourth chapter that includes information about business etiquette, cultural and social manners, norms and values of Jamaican society analysed by G. Hofstede` s research. The last chapter describes technological environment and compares position of Jamaican research and development with other countries of the world.
