Setting boundaries between social workers and clients in asylum houses
KUCHÁROVÁ, Barbora
The thesis deals with the setting, observance and violation of professional boundaries between a social worker and a client in a shelter for men. It identifies social services in the context of shelters. It also describes the role of a social worker in a shelter and specifies what a professional relationship should look like. It includes the topic of burnout syndrome and mental hygiene. The second part of the thesis is based on semi-structured interviews, which were attended by three social workers working in shelters for men. All respondents perceive setting and adhering to boundaries as very important, although all three do not perform equally in this area. This is due to the fact that each person is an individual being and there is no universal rule in the area of boundaries that can be applied to all workers equally.
The attitude of educators in children's homes at the end of their career
MIŇOVSKÁ VOCŮ, Hana
The aim of the work is to describe how educators at the end of their professional career perceive their work in a children's home. For this purpose, the principles of substitute care, especially the forms of institutional education, were described in the theoretical part. With regard to the target group of female informants, a separate sub-chapter was dedicated to the children's home. Because institutional education cannot fully replace family education, attention was also paid to the risks of institutional education, especially the psychological deprivation that children from orphanages are often exposed to. In the following subchapters, the specifics of the educator's work in a children's home and his risk of stress, which can be one of the many factors of burnout syndrome, were described. Therefore, attention was also paid to prevention. The creative part is processed in the form of a qualitative approach. Data obtained from semi-structured interviews were analyzed and then interpreted through open coding.

Abstract The bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of burnout syndrome in secondary school teachers. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part is divided into several areas. The beginning chapter of the theoretical part clarifies the burnout syndrome and its diagnosis. It then goes on to establish the difference and clarity between depression and stress. The next chapter in the theoretical part is devoted to research focusing on burnout syndrome in secondary school teachers, which was conducted by experts from Masaryk University in Brno. The theoretical part concludes with information and an overview of the professions most threatened by burnout syndrome, followed by a chapter dealing specifically with stress in the teaching profession. The practical part is devoted to a research investigation on stress, burnout and prevention. The aim of the work was to compare the findings with research on teachers that has been conducted in the Czech Republic. For the quantitative research investigation, a self-administered anonymous questionnaire was designed and distributed to the respondents, i.e. pupils of two secondary schools in the Jeseník district. The basic research question of this paper was to find out to what extent teachers are currently affected by stress and how they resist it. The research shows that teachers' stress and burnout are manifested in changes in their behaviour. Teachers perceive these changes as a way of irritability, dissatisfaction and ag-resis. They use regular exercise as prevention and try to spend their free time with family and friends.
