Author: Ivana Moravcová Title: Case report of physiotherapy care for a patient with a diagnosis of subtotal rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament Objective: The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to develop a case study of physiotherapy care for a patient with a diagnosis of subtotal rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament and to process information about the given diagnosis. Methods: The bachelor thesis consists of a theoretical and a special part. The theoretical part contains general information about the knee joint and the given diagnosis, as well as examination and physiotherapy methods and procedures used for the given diagnosis. The special part contains a case study of a patient after a subtotal rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament, which consists of an initial kinesiology analysis, an output kinesiology analysis and 8 therapeutic units. I processed the special part during continuous professional practice, which took place at the Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital. Results: If we compare the results of the entrance and exit examinations, we will see an improvement in most aspects. Among the most important improvements are a subjective reduction of pain and a feeling of distrust in the knee joint, as well as an increase in muscle strength and an improvement in stability. Conclusion:...
The effect of physiotherapeutic intervention on the change in thigh muscle volume after LCA surgery.
Ragulová, Michaela ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Angerová, Yvona (referee) ; Řasová, Kamila (referee)
Title: The effect of physiotherapeutic intervention on the change in thigh muscle volume after LCA surgery Objectives: The aim of this work is to evaluate the effect of targeted physiotherapy intervention in patients after anterior cruciate ligament surgery in relation to thigh muscle volume. Methods: Twenty probands participated in the research. The criteria for the selection of the probands were determined as follows: age, first surgery on the lower limbs and bone tendon bone (BTB) surgical approach. Probands were randomly divided into two groups of ten - research and control. The research group completed eight individual physiotherapy sessions, one of which lasted 45 minutes. In the 10th postoperative week, the probands were given additional device rehabilitation - Imoove. In total, this group completed nine physical therapy sessions over 9 weeks. The control group only had group exercise twice a week for 30 minutes. In total, this group completed eight group sessions over a period of 4 weeks. In addition to individual and group therapy, the probands underwent group exercise in the pool five times, magnetotherapy for the knee joint six times, and laser therapy for the scar six times. The following procedures were used to evaluate the effect of the applied therapy: an Academia50 handheld scanner...
Anterior cruciate ligament rupture in women floorball extraleague players in Czech and Slovak republic - analysis of influences
Boľová, Šárka ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Žáková, Lenka (referee)
Title: Anterior cruciate ligament rupture in women floorball extraleague players in Czech and Slovak republic - analysis of influences Objectives: The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyze the main influences on the anterior cruciate ligament rupture in top-level women floorball players in the Czech and Slovak top leagues, with the main focus on the length of player's active career and average week load, including a comparison of incidences of the injury in both countries. Methods: Data collection was done using an anonymous non-standardized questionnaire in electronic form. The research group included 209 top women floorball players aged 15-35 years. 135 players played in the Czech extraleague and 74 in the Slovak extraleague. All 20 teams registered in the highest women's floorball competitions of both countries during season 2021/2022 took part in the research. Results: The results showed a predominance of non-contact injuries (75 %), repeated anterior cruciate ligament rupture occurred in 42.5 % of cases. The effect of the player's active career length (long-term repetitive tissue microtrauma) on the injury was confirmed. The relationship between the volume of the average week training and match load (short-term loading) and the injury was not confirmed. There was a significant difference in...
Physical therapy procedures in patients following the operation of the anterior cruciate ligament
Pešlová, Kateřina ; Jalovcová, Miroslava (advisor) ; Satrapová, Lenka (referee)
Title: Physical therapy procedures in patients following the operation of the anterior cruciate ligament Objectives: The main objective of this work is to determine the influence of the chosen method of reconstruction and subsequent physiotherapy on the final status of the patient. And also if the group physiotherapy is the ideal therapeutic approach. Methods: In quantitative research the numerical analysis of the data was performed. Comparison of individual groups was performed simply through finding the frequency distribution of individual characters. Evaluated were the basic sets A (patients operated on by Bone - Tendon - Bone method, BTB) and B (patients operated on by hamstring graft method, STG). Both sets were assessed using the input and the output kinesiological analysis. The resulting values of the variables in each category (individual examinations in the input and output kinesiological analysis) were compared with each other. The statistical significance of observed differences was tested using the x2 (chi square) test at the significance level of p < 0.05. Results: It was determined that the selected surgical method (BTB and STG) has an effect on certain parameters evaluated in the input rated kinesiological analysis. These parameters in the majority of examinations performed at the...
Instrumental gait analysis in the ACL patient
Lalaeva, Anna ; Dudová, Agnieszka (advisor) ; Lopot, František (referee)
Title: Instrumental Gait Analysis in the ACL Patient Aim: to present an up to date review on the topic of instrumental analysis of straight ahead gait on a plain surface (both over-ground and on a treadmill) in ACL patients (both deficient and reconstructed). A second aim is to introduce the clinician (especially in the field of physiotherapy/rehabilitation) to the topic of gait analysis and its specific use for the ACL patient. Methods: a systematic review on the topic Results The review answers the questions of what instrumentation, phases of gait and variables is best to use/measure for clinical purposes. It also identifies and discusses three main gait strategies used by ACL patients: quadriceps avoidance, knee stiffening, pivot shift avoidance. Keywords: gait, analysis, walking, clinical, instrumental, anterior cruciate ligament, ACL, deficient, reconstruction, injury
Impact evaluation of a anterior cruciate ligament rupture on postural stabilization by a method postural somatooscillography before and after reconstruction surgery
Traplová, Kristýna ; Rašev, Eugen (advisor) ; Véle, František (referee)
Title: Impact evaluation of a anterior cruciate ligament rupture on postural stabilization by a method postural somatooscillography before and after the reconstruction surgery Objective: Compare measured postural stability values by postural somatooscillography which will be carried out before planned ACL reconstruction surgery rupture, early after the surgery and in a longer time period after rehabilitation. Methods: This thesis has been created as a pilot study using a descriptive and associative form. Research part focuses on measurements done on the Posturomed surface during postural provocation test. Platform movement has been recorded by accelerometer and transferred into Microswing diagnostic system and evaluated using the Postural somatooscillography Posturomed Commander application. Results: After reconstruction surgery is the ability of postural stabilization better than before surgery. Postural stabilization has been improving within the group of probands during all measurements. However, the ability of long-term stabilization is at very low level in comparison to healthy subjects. Postural stabilization of uninjured limb is better than stabilization of injured limb in all research stages. Key words: anterior cruciate ligament, injury, postural stabilization, Posturomed
