Localization by SICK range-finder
Zháňal, Jan ; Věchet, Stanislav (referee) ; Marada, Tomáš (advisor)
Motion and localization are basic attributes of mobile robots in the environment. In this thesis we focus on localization and also mapping environment by one robot (named as well SLAM) which will use laser range-finder SICK. There will be stated a lot about activities related to robot movements’ i.e. odometry, maps and their making. There is Kalman Filter and his use in this document. In the end there will be made model of the SLAM method made by Matlab program.
Search for the meaning of suffering in the life and work of Blessed John Paul II.
Spišák, Róbert ; Ryšková, Mireia (referee) ; Ventura, Václav (referee)
Search for the meaning of suffering in the life and work of bl. John Paul II. During his long pontificate, John Paul II. commented on many current problems, but he perceived the matter of suffering in the most sensitive way. He boldly criticized all that is threatening to a man or brings pain. On the other hand, he strongly emphasized, that life in suffering is meaningful. What brought him to this conclusion? Which life events aided him in this search? How did he develop on his personal spiritual way, where he found meaning in suffering and thus became an authentic teacher in this area? The answers are proposed in this thesis, which is divided into three chapters: From a childhood to a priesthood; From the Priest Ordination to the Roman Pontificate; The Pontificate - the Pope "speaking" and "silent". The author advances chronologically and applies hagiographic-personalistic approach, which takes into account particular life events of a man and takes interest in his spiritual growth. Already in his childhood and an early manhood, Karol Wojtyla was greatly tried by suffering. This is shown in quite a detail in the first chapter. First it is death of his mother and then unexpected death of his brother Edmund. In both cases the most significant issue for Wojtyla is his father's attitude, who is seeking...
Last plague epidemic in the Czech lands, especially in Prague (1713-1714)
Koubová, Markéta ; Foltýn, Dušan (advisor) ; Charvátová, Kateřina (referee)
The main part of the thesis mentions last plague epidemic wave, that hit our country in the years 1713-1714, here I focus specifically on the city of Prague. The Czech lands, Moravia and Silesia are mentioned only briefly to show little differences between lands and their plague rules. I also describe medical facilities and hospitals, where were sick and dying people placed, and personnel which took care of these people. Divine services were important for people at that time, society was very religious and people thought that plague is a divine punishment. Even though society was very religiously based, cities and streets were filthy and full of mud.People in cities had very poor hygienic standards and habits, that helped to faster spreading of the disease. At last, places of final rest for terminally ill people, plague cemeteries are mentioned.

Income to the hospital, needs of the patient and nursing care
ROSOLOVÁ, Tereza
The bachelor thesis Admittance to hospital, patient?s needs and nursing care is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part analyses what needs are and their classification, nursing care and its methods, outpatient and inpatient admittance from the point of view of a patient and from the point of view of nurses. These facts are compared between a surgery and an internal medicine ward. These problems form the central topics of this thesis. The practical part involves qualitative methods, namely the techniques of non standardized interview and observation by means of a record sheet both in patients and nurses specialized in surgery and internal medicine.First we prepared 20 questions focused on our topic, which were applied to 10 respondents, 5 surgical and 5 internal. A half of the questions dealt with patients that were waiting for or had already passed primary admittance to the surgical or internal ward of the České Budějovice Hospital. The second half of the questions was focused on the problems of inpatient admittance, which the patients had passed. 2 of the questions were given to nurses that took care about the patient at both, the admission office and the ward. The aim of the thesis was to find out what information the patients have when they are admitted to hospital. The second aim was to map the time interval between admittance at the admission office and laying the patient on the bed. The third aim was to map what needs were not saturated after admittance of a patient to the ward. The fourth aim was to map what problems nurses met most often in acceptance of a patient to the ward in terms of the nursing care they provided. The research among the respondents has shown that most patients do not have any specific information on admittance. The time interval between admittance at the admission office and laying the patient on the bed seems to be acceptable, although it usually took an hour or more. As for the needs, all the patients except for two had their needs saturated. The problems nurses face at acceptance are mostly with aggressive patients, alcohol influence, poor communication with family, signing a negative discharge, poor communication with admission nurses and communication barriers.
