Computational prediction of operating parameters of cogeneration units
Kašpar, Jakub ; Daxner, Ján (referee) ; Jegla, Zdeněk (advisor)
The focus of this work is on gas-fired combined heat and power (CHP) units with internal combustion engine. The aim is to present and analyse a prediction model with subsequent modification and experimental validation. This is preceded by a proper theoretical introduction to CHP units. First, the role of CHP in the transformation of the contemporary energy sector, which is under increasing demands, is outlined. Next, the types of CHP units are briefly introduced, including their advantages. This is followed by a detailed description of their design together with the factors influencing their operating parameters. For the understanding of the subject, emphasis is placed on the description of analytical relations in the field of thermomechanics and physical chemistry. Furthermore, the modelling of CHP is approached based on knowledge gained during the study and work experience in the field of CHP units. The final adjusted predictive model shows deviations of up to 12 % with respect to the nominal parameters. When validated with experimental data, it shows a deviation of up to 31,1 %. In general, the model is not suitable for accurate prediction of operating parameters. However, it has been successfully validated in determining the trend of the dependence of the operating parameters on the hydrogen concentration in the fuel.
Energy balance of biomass heating plant
Žmolík, Václav ; Šen, Hugo (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
This thesis deals with a design of a biomass heating plant combinating a Rankin-Clausius cyklus and a CHP unit. The CHP unit fuel is a biogas and the boiler fuel is a wooden chip. The adapted CHP unit regenerates feed-water of the R-C cycles. This design is technicaly and economicalty compared with the Rankin-Clausius cycle without feed-water regeneration by the CHP unit.
Kogenerační jednotka mikro výkonu v RD
Pusztai, Radek ; Skalka, Miroslav (referee) ; Ondrůšek, Čestmír (advisor)
Bachelor paper on "Cogenerational unit of micro energy in a single-family house" occupies with analysis of usage and economical effectiveness of cogenerational installation in the single-family house. Results and used material are based on longtime knowledge of leading Czech and world companies and institutions. Paper is structed into two parts.
Using cogeneration unit for heating and electricity production
Ženíšek, Pavel ; Doležalová, Jana (referee) ; Formánek, Marian (advisor)
The final thesis deals with the heating of the hospital building and preparation of the domestic hot water by cogeneration unit. The building will be largely heated by plate radiators. As a heat source is used a cogeneration unit with combustion engine. The project deals with the design dimensioning and connection of these parts.
Heat sources for industrial buildings
Vejnarová, Nikola ; Počinková, Marcela (referee) ; Formánek, Marian (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the design of the new heat source of the existing building. The first part deals with the heat sources and fuels used in the Czech Republic. The second part includes design of three variants of heat sources: gas boilers, cogeneration unit with the electric boilers and cogeneration unit with gas boilers. The individual variations are also evaluated in terms of user comfort, space requirements or economy of operation. The third part includes measurement and evaluation of internal environment of the dining hall.
Alternative use of biomass
Hornoch, Radek ; Radil, Lukáš (referee) ; Bartošík, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis describes the options of the processing biomass on the nobler fuels and their using. In the first part are described the sources of biomass so the option targeted grow crops or use different convenient wastes. The second part contains a description of the technology, how to revise the biomass to synthesis gas, methanol, ethanol, biodiesel and biogas. They are given yields on already mentioned high-grade fuels from individual crops and technologies. The third part deals with device where it is maybe to use nobler forms of fuels. It is going about traditional heating plant with back pressure or condensing extraction turbine, steam heating plant, a cogeneration unit with micro turbine, a cogeneration unit with combustion engine and a cogeneration unit with fuel cells. At the end of the chapter is a comparison of the different devices when using different fuels.
Business Plan of Cogeneration Units Production
Gomola, Lukáš ; Klein, Václav (referee) ; Heralecký, Tomáš (advisor)
The goal of this Diploma thesis is to analyze market for cogeneration plants, make an external and internal analysis of specific company and illustrate the advantages for each production option and subsequent sale or lease of the product. It is also necessary to take in consideration all aspects and risks. The realization of such a vast project is difficult for capital, therefore financial analysis is also performed.
Use of Cogeneration in Family Houses
Pusztai, Radek ; Mastný, Petr (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
In the first part of the thesis is elaborated a general view on the issue of cogeneration - a joint production of heat and electricity. In addition to technical and economic aspects are also mentioned basic modes of operation of cogeneration units. Furthermore, installation conditions in the family house and legislative acts associated with the operation. The next section describes the technical parameters of the unit - TEDOM T7. Subsequently, the work performed calculations of the energy needs of the family house. In the next part there is an economic calculation of the object with reference to other sources of heat.

Biomass utilization for cogeneration small power
Neminář, Štěpán ; Škorpík, Jiří (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
The subject of this thesis is the utilization of biomass for cogeneration units of small power (to 500 kWe). Within the first paragraphs the thesis focuses on technologies which produce more valuable fuels than the solid biomass. This chapter also describes the most recent processes of waste biomass usage. The following section summarizes gaseous and liquid products of this procedure and their feasible use in co-generation. In the last part of this thesis author describes a CHP devices which are used in small electric power production and assesses their advantages and disadvantages. Consequently, some options of their practical usage are highlighted. As a conclusion, these devices are compared and their possible future application is illustrated.
