Tutoring in the context of studies at multi-year grammar schools

1 ABSTRACT TITLE: Tutoring in the context of studies at high schools The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to describe the situation of tutoring at high schools. In the theoretical part, basic concepts regarding tutoring, motivation, self-confidence and stress from exams are defined. To obtain data, I conducted research using the method of group interviews, which was intended for respondents from the first - fourth grade. A total of 4 group interviews were carried out, with a total of 12 pupils, it brought valuable information regarding the students who are tutored and the reasons why they use tutoring. In the practical part, I focus on the analysis of the results. But what this study certainly brought to the attention of the fact that tutoring does not have to be only for less gifted students, it can also be for students who want to learn something more and improve themselves. Despite its limited scope, this study can serve as a starting point for more comprehensive research in this area. Key words Tutoring, motivation for tutoring, entrance exams, stress.

Selected materials for preparation for secondary school entrance exams

The diploma thesis deals with Selected materials for preparation for secondary school entrance exams. The objective of this thesis was to create a workbook with exercises that help pupils with the preparation for the secondary school level entrance exams in Mathematics. The workbook is dedicated primarily to 9th-grade learners, however, teachers can use the exercises for revision lessons in any classroom in lower secondary school. The workbook comprises several thematic units which are introduced by the theoretical overview. Furthermore, the units consist of supplementary exercises with the answer key section.

Specifics of the education of ethnic minorities form the former Soviet Union in the Czech Republic.

This theses focuses on the issue of study of foreigners from formal Soviet Union in the Czech Republic. The goal of this work is to analyse and evaluate steps on the student's journey from initial idea to study in the Czech Republic, through main obstacles that need to be overcome in the process to basic requirements and necessities that need to be fulfilled. These issues were analyzed in eight connected chapters, six theoretical and two practical. Results of the practical part uncover the most problematic areas a foreign student encounters during the study at the college in the Czech Republic. The paper also includes suggested solutions to these problems.

A comparison of the requirements for practical entrance exams for high school sports in the Czech Republic and their design optimization at the University of South Bohemia\\

The main goal of this thesis is the proposal of optimization of practical entrance exams, for study on Faculty of sport at University of South Bohemia. Another goal is the comparison of requirements for practical entrance exams at selected sport universities in Czech republic. By data analysis of entrance exams from past four years at University of South Bohemia author found out, which disciplines are overrated and on the contrary which are underrated, graphs of results frequency were generated by data analysis, descriptive statistics and histograms for each discipline; based on these results, procedure for optimization the scoring system was set. When determining the new recommended values in the tables of Faculty of sport at University of South Bohemia was used descriptive statistics and a histogram. For comparison, author used scoring tables from other universities, which have shown us how different their scoring system is against scoring system at University of South Bohemia.

Application for work simplification of the study officer in entrance exams

This bachelor thesis describes the realization of development of application, which extends the functionality of Integrated study information system on the University of economics in Prague. First part of this thesis is mainly focused on the analytical part of the application. Main topic is the work, practice and experience of a study officer in entrance exams. This part is also focused on the specification of input and output data. And these specifications are used to describe the new functionality requirements of the application. Second part is mainly about the development of the application. The development is seen and described from it experts point of view and also from users point of view. Each algorithm, procedure and function is explained and the solution of problems is well covered. In the users point of view part there is a simple user guide about how to use this application.
