Map of the conquest of the North Pole
Šuhajda, Adam ; Čábelka, Miroslav (advisor) ; Bayer, Tomáš (referee)
The main goal of the thesis is the creation of a wall map dedicated to the conquest of the North Pole. Using cartographic means, the map shows routes of the polar expeditions, the latitudes reached by the expeditions and additional thematic elements. The initial literature search is focused on the development of Arctic exploration and the procedures of individual expeditions. This is further used to define the used expeditions in the final map. A partial aim of the thesis is to analyze selected maps of the Arctic from the Map Collection of the Faculty of Science of Charles University. The last part of the thesis includes the creation of the map itself based on the analysed series. The purpose of the map is to transfer the findings from the research and analysis part to the map sheet and to bring the reader closer to the progress of the conquest of the North Pole. Keywords: North Pole, thematic map, map analysis, Arctic, ArcGIS, polar expedition
Visual representation of BUT buildings from GIS data
Kopčil, Michal ; Hynek, Jiří (referee) ; Tesařová, Alena (advisor)
This thesis aims to develop an interactive web application for smartphones, primarily targeted at students of the Brno University of Technology. The web application, developed using TypeScript with the React library and the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, enables users to search for rooms within BUT facilities and provides details such as floor, building, faculty, and interior photos. The server component is implemented in Python using the Flask framework.
Volumetric and Evaporation Analysis of the Landštejn reservoir
Hánová, Karolína ; Bednář, Martin (referee) ; Marton, Daniel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the volumetric analysis and estimation of evaporation from the water surface of Landštejn reservoir. The main objective is to determine new bathymetric curves of the reservoir based on the most recent bathymetric survey of the bottom and then to estimate the amount of evaporated water for a selected period. To achieve these objectives, ArcGIS tools will be used to create a digital terrain model that will allow accurate calculation of the bathymetric curves through volumetric analysis. The amount of evaporation will be determined using selected empirical formulas and simple balance analysis, taking into account the standard ČSN 75 2405 concerning the water management design of reservoirs and comparison with data from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute. The practical part of the work includes the creation and evaluation of a digital terrain model of the Landštejn reservoir and subsequent estimation of evaporation based on average temperatures and other meteorological data. The results show new bathygraphic curves and provide accurate estimates of the volume of water evaporated from the reservoir over the specified period. This work contributes to a better understanding of the hydrological processes in the Landstejn reservoir area and provides important input for more effective water management planning and management.
Data Interface for Sharing of "City Data"
Fiala, Jan ; Špaňhel, Jakub (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to explore existing solutions of closed and open data sharing, propose options of sharing non-public data, implement selected solution and demonstrate the functionality of the system for sharing closed data. Implementation output consist of a catalog of non-public datasets, web application for administration of non-public datasets, application interface gateway and demonstration application.
Smart City Services in Brno - Map of Travel Times
Strych, Tomáš ; Najman, Pavel (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
The main goal of this thesis is to provide users with a web application through which they can obtain, based on the current timetable, graphical information on the estimated time availability of urban and intercity traffic in the South Moravian Region. The automation of data processing and publishing to the server has been solved in the comprehensive ArcGIS geographic information system. Graphical display of data, on a web page, is resolved on the client side, using JavaScript. The created solution provides the user with graphics information about the time availability from a predetermined location in South Moravia. Based on the results of this work, another way of analyzing timetables has been created. This analyze can lead to improved timetables.
Identification of pathways concentrated surface runoff and their stabilization
Hájek, Daniel ; Pavlík, František (referee) ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav (advisor)
Aim of this study is to identify the pathways of concentrated surface runoff with assistance of digital terrain model in the river basin of Svratka and evaluate quantity and type of endangered grounds.
Cycle Path GIS of Moravian Wine Trails
Žďárská, Kristýna ; Bartoněk, Dalibor (referee) ; Ježek, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with creation of a geographic information system for two wine cycle route near by Mikulov. The main requirements were visualization of line and point symbols and research possibilities of publication data on the internet. Data, information and photos were collected in the field by the device Zeno 20 from the company Leica. This thesis was created in software ArcGIS for Desktop 10.4.1. from the company Esri and includes formation database queries and simple analysis over the measured data. Final GIS is available to everyone and allows to display the course of the route according to various criterions and points of interest for the needs of wine cyclist.
Sustainable production capabilities of territory, depending on climatic drought.
Skůpová, Jana ; Uhrová,, Jana (referee) ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav (advisor)
In this work, I dealt with the repercussion of drought on agriculture and land in the cadastral Jinošov. For this area, I analyzed the erosion and ratio of outflow. I also conducted a proposal of adaptation measures against erosion and water retention in the area. In conclusion, I analyzed withholding data and assessed the retention before and after the proposal of adaptation measures. The result of my work is finding that rainfall is inadequate and largely come out of the growing season, that despite all the measures fail to create on the necessary retention for the correct functioning of the landscape. Therefore it is necessary to solve water supply from other areas where is sufficient supply of water.
Land use GIS of Jinačovice municipality
Kelblová, Kristýna ; Opatřilová, Irena (referee) ; Bartoněk, Dalibor (advisor)
This master thesis focuses on the development of the GIS in the Jinačovice municipality, particularly on the land use. The core data used for the research has been gathered by aerial photography since 1950. Other data sources include other types of maps, especially Cadastral map, ZABAGED data and statistical data. An analysis of the Land use has been carried out as well as additional analyses of the area. The research has been conducted specifically for the Jinačovice municipality.
Cycle Path GIS of Moravian Wine Trails
Kobližek, Tomáš ; Bartoněk, Dalibor (referee) ; Ježek, Jiří (advisor)
The subject of this thesis was to create cycle path geographic information system (GIS) north of Znojmo wine trail. The main goal of the GIS witch informs about parameters of cycle routes and attractions and services. Data collection was carried out in terrain and were obtained necessary data and maps for the creation of GIS. ArcGIS 10.1 from ESRI company was been used for proccesing of data. Couple of outputs from GIS has been created at the end of the work. The user can use GIS data in various programs and on different platforms.
