Petričáková, Štěpánka ; Zdichynec, Jan (advisor) ; Foltýn, Dušan (referee)
The Bachelor᾽s thesis aims to introduce the Congregation of the Daughter of Divine Love (FDC) and its contribution primarily in the field of education. For more detailed research, the location of Veltrusy was chosen. The work of Congregation had the greatest impact there in the running of the "Sancta Maria" boarding school. The time span of 1921-1950 corresponds to the duration of the sisters at Veltrusy. Another target of my study was the depiction of an interesting and almost forgotten theme from the history of the town, whose name is often associated with the chateau, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. So, it falls not only within the realm of monastic but also regional history. For the purpose of introduction to the issue is introduced as first of all the historical development of the congregation FDC and history of female education in the modern era. The next chapter devotes to the Congregation itself and its extension to Czechoslovakia. Then there is focus on the activities of sisters FDC at Veltrusy. The Bachelor's Thesis deals with the work of sisters in the context of difficult historical events. The topic is processed through narrative, written sources, and secondary literature. At the end of the work there is a pictorial annex, which illustrates the overall picture of...
Czech sonnet in the first half of the 20th century
Hanus, Ondřej ; Wiendl, Jan (advisor) ; Holý, Jiří (referee)
Ondrej Hanus Czech Sonnet in the 1st Half of the 20th Century Abstract This thesis examines the history of Czech sonnets in 1885-1948. Based on a carefully selected material, it analyses the position of particular texts both in the work of individual writers (from Jaroslav Vrchlicky to Jan Zabrana) and in the defined period of Czech literary history. This period is divided into three phases (1885-1900, 1900-1930 a 1931-1948). Both formal aspects (metre, rhyme, strophic structure) and functional aspects (the various roles of the sonnet in the individual phases of Czech literary history) are taken into account. An important part of the thesis is the revision of the standard narrow formalistic definition of the sonnet. This is substituted with a much broader definition, allowing us to regard various formal experiments as fully-fledged sonnets.

Czechs and Germans in the Czech Budejovice in the 2nd half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century
Soušek, Josef ; Foltýn, Dušan (advisor) ; Pokorný, Jiří (referee)
This thesis focuses on the relationships between Czechs and Germans in České Budějovice during the second half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. The main emphasis is on the influence the church had on the relationships between the two nations in the time and place mentioned above, as they were described in the collected sources and historic literature. This thesis concentrates mainly on these topics: religious life, community life and education. The conclusion of my work is the discovery that the church and the individual congregations did not participate in the national struggle in the town. They only tried to work to the benefit of the town and its citizens. In case they set up organizations such as schools, clubs, hospitals, it was because they were missing in the town or because they did not exist in sufficient numbers for the ever-evolving town of České Budějovice. It did not matter whether it was a school for Czech or German children, for example. Also, the nationality of the members of the church and congregations themselves was not necessarily decisive. Although the knowledge of both Czech and German language in the town was an important prerequisite. More significant problems arose only with the Redemptorist college, which became unintentionally by the...
