Issues of mandatory and voluntary vaccination in children
DOLEŽALOVÁ, Anna
Current status: Vaccination is an integral part of infectious disease prevention. Vaccination against nine infectious diseases is currently compulsory in the Czech Republic. The activities of the paediatric nurse include not only the correct preparation and administration of the vaccine to the child, but also the education of parents and children about vaccination. The aim of the work was to find out what knowledge parents have about the vaccination system for children, to describe the experience of nurses with parents' attitude towards vaccination of their children and to determine the duties of a pediatric nurse in preparing and administering vaccines to children. Methodology: A combined qualitative-quantitative method was chosen for the research investigation. Quantitative research was conducted using non-standardized questionnaires. The questionnaires were distributed to parents in the offices of general practitioners for children and adolescents and were also available on social platforms that bring parents together. A total of 152 questionnaires were obtained and subsequently processed. The qualitative part of the study was carried out using a semi-structured interview technique with nurses at the paediatric and adolescent GP practices. The size of the research population was determined by the theoretical saturation of the data. A total of ten interviews were conducted with nurses in selected general practitioners for children and adolescents practices in České Budějovice and Dačice. The selection of informants and respondents was deliberate. Results: The quantitative part of the study showed that parents' knowledge of the child vaccination system in the Czech Republic was statistically significantly related to their education (p<0.001) and the number of their children (p=0.006). There was no relationship between knowledge and age of respondents (p = 0.197). The qualitative research investigation confirmed that nurses have sufficient knowledge about their responsibilities in vaccinating children. The experience of nurses, with the attitude of parents towards vaccination of their children, is that most parents agree to vaccination. Their reasons include their child's health and the fact that parents do not want to deal with complications at the child's older age (inability to attend preschool, summer camps, etc.). According to the nurses' experience, the reasons for parents not wanting to give consent to vaccinate their children include fear of side effects after vaccination and their general rejection of the authorities. Conclusion and recommendations for practice: Therefore, education of parents about vaccination in primary preventive care by the nurse and physician is very important. An integral part of parent education in primary care by the nurse practitioner is to refute any false information about vaccination and to communicate only the true facts.
Socioekonomické aspekty integrace Ukrajinců v České republice
DANIELOVÁ, Linda
This thesis focuses on selected socio-economic aspects of the integration of Ukrainians in the Czech Republic. The thesis was prepared as part of Project No. 101/2022/S on Selected Aspects of Integration of Foreigners Living in the Czech Republic and Their Relationship to Social Work. The aim of this thesis was to identify and analyze selected socio-economic aspects related to the integration of Ukrainians in the Czech Republic. This goal was achieved through the use of a quantitative research strategy and a questionnaire survey method. The questionnaire was created by combining questions of the author's own construction and questions taken from previous research by Vacková et al., (2016) and Vacková et al., (2016). The research sample for this thesis consisted of Ukrainian immigrants living in the Czech Republic, and 158 Ukrainian questionnaires were collected and analyzed. Quantitative data was processed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 28.0 and analyzed using the Statistical Analysis of Social Data (SASD) program version 1.4.10. The data was further graphically processed in MS Excel. The analysis was conducted based on the first and second levels of sorting. In the first level of sorting, frequency tables were constructed for each indicator, and absolute and relative frequencies and measures of central tendency (mode, median, mean, variance, standard deviation, range, estimated variance and standard deviation, and confidence interval for the mean and variance at the 0.05 level) were calculated. The second level of sorting involved constructing contingency tables with absolute and relative frequencies. Three hypotheses were tested within the research. The first hypothesis demonstrated a statistically significant relationship between respondents' subjective evaluation of their ability to speak Czech and their economic status (p<0.001). Similarly, a statistically significant association was found between understanding written Czech text and economic status (p<0.001). Moreover, a statistically significant relationship was established between subjective evaluation of writing in Czech and economic status (p<0.05). The ability to understand spoken Czech was also found to be statistically significant in relation to economic status (p<0.001). Furthermore, satisfaction with one's knowledge of the Czech language was statistically significant concerning economic status (p<0.01). The second hypothesis was confirmed, as there was a statistically significant relationship between the length of stay in the Czech Republic and engaging in managerial activities (p<0.05). The third hypothesis indicated a statistically significant association between the subjective evaluation of the difficulty of finding work in the Czech Republic and the timing of arrival in the country (p<0.05). This last hypothesis was also confirmed. A practical recommendation is to focus on the knowledge of the Czech language for newly arrived and existing immigrants who are part of the Czech labor market. This applies not only to employers who employ Ukrainian residents but also to organizations that come into contact with foreigners (e.g., the Advisory Center for Foreigners and Migrants or the Center for Support of Foreigners).
Design of methodologies for operating selected FFF 3D printers
KOUCKÝ, Daniel
In the bachelor thesis is created a set of manuals for operating selected FFF 3D printers from Prusa Research and Creality available in the classrooms of the Faculty of Education of the University of South Bohemia. These printers are Original Prusa Mini+, Original Prusa i3 MK2S and Creality CR-10. The tutorials produced include basic operation of the printers along with filament replacement. The bachelor thesis also includes a set of manuals for the use of special programs for preparing the model for printing, the so-called slicers, recommended by the manufacturer to work with the aforementioned FFF 3D printers. These are PrusaSlicer and UltiMaker Cura. These manuals describe the basic operation of the programs along with more advanced features. Action research was used to verify the functionality of these manuals with students of the Faculty of Education of the University of South Bohemia. These students had no previous experience with printing or with operating special programs for preparing models for printing. The main finding of these tests is that the proposed sets of instructions are functional and the user is able to reach a successful goal using them. Furthermore, the possibility of using these tutorials by inexperienced users in a home environment.
Aspects of current labor market in the Czech Republic
DOUBEK, Karel
The bachelor thesis deals with the labor market and its applicants which are looking for a job through the labor market. The focus of this bachelor thesis was to map the current situation on the labor market in the district of České Budějovice. There were three research questions created for this bachelor thesis. H1: Due to the effects of coronavirus epidemic on the labor market, there are differences in the rate of being scared between the professions, when it takes to concerns of looking for work, in between applicants on the labor market in the district of České Budějovice. H2: Due to the effects of coronavirus epidemic on the labor market, there are differences in the rate of being scared between the levels of education, when it takes to concerns of looking for work, when it takes to finding an optimal job, in between applicants on the labor market in the district of České Budějovice. H3: Due to the effects of energy crisis on the labor market, there are differences in the rate of being scared between the professions, when it takes to concerns of looking for work, in between applicants on the labor market in the district of České Budějovice. When it comes to gathering data, I have used primarly non-standardized questionnaire, which was created through Survio.com, in the next step it was processed through Microsoft Excel for the purpose of creating tables and graphs and lastly for testing the hypothesis, I have used a statistical program called IBM SPSS Statistics. The questionnaire contained 14 questions, in which three were open and 11 were created in a style of pick one. I have tested all three hypothesis and all three came out as true. That means there are differences in the rates of being scared in between the applicants, being it in different professions or level od education due to the coronavirus epidemic or the energy crisis.

The Czech Republic and Qatar: analysis of gas market relations through the lens of the Czech Republic's efforts to increase its energy security
Klíma, Eduard ; Holubcová, Jitka (advisor) ; Prášil, Matěj (referee)
The energy crisis in 2022 highlighted the weaknesses of the European energy market and forced the leaders of individual Member States to get rid of their high dependence on Russian gas. The paper analyses the potential for cooperation between the Czech Republic and Qatar in the field of liquefied natural gas supply in the light of interrupted natural gas supplies from Russia. The aim of the thesis is to answer the question whether there is a potential for cooperation between the two countries in the medium term in the field of natural gas supply in order to increase the energy security of the Czech Republic, and at the same time it presents the hypothesis that a political consensus between the two countries would have a positive impact on the energy security of the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the concept of energy security, the situation on the energy market before and after the beginning of the war in Ukraine, and the organisation of the European, Czech and Qatari natural gas markets. The practical part includes the analysis of four semi-structured interviews with representatives of the private and state sector of the gas industry. Respondents answered pre- selected statements in the interviews and their answers were analysed using coding and a proprietary...
Analysis of key actors in the process of redefining rape in the Czech Republic
Halašková, Klára ; Čapek, Jakub (advisor) ; Šimková, Anna (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the very recent process of redefining rape in the Czech Republic. Through qualitative research, it provides a unique analysis of the actors and discourse leading to the proposed amendment of the Criminal Code. The aim of the thesis is to identify the key actors who have played the biggest role in the discourse, to examine how they approach the issue and how they evaluate the cooperation towards a better definition of rape in the Czech Republic. The existing definition of rape in the country does not include the huge number of rapes that happen, for example, due to the so-called freezing of the victim who cannot defend themselves. A part of our society and criminal justice authorities often believe many stereotypes and myths about sexual violence and downplay the issue. The theoretical part is devoted to an introduction to the issue and the definition of important concepts. The empirical part is based on data obtained from semi-structured interviews with key actors, their subsequent analysis and the results of the research. The research identifies the main actors as NGOs, Konsent and Amnesty International, and the main initiators of debates at the policy level, Taťána Malá and Klára Kocmanová. The research results also revealed some of the actors against...
Exploration of oncogenomic factors for prognostication and prevention of breast, ovarian, and colorectal cancers
Holý, Petr ; Souček, Pavel (advisor) ; Bouchal, Pavel (referee) ; Šulc, Miroslav (referee)
(Abstract) Cancer is now the leading cause of death in economically developer countries, with epidemiological indicators rising steadily on a global scale. This is mainly a result of socio- economic and demographic developments, particularly ageing populations or changes in lifestyle in some populations. Meanwhile, as absolute incidence and mortality rates are rising, the prevalence of cancer is also increasing, representing a heavy social and economic burden. Cancer research has received a great deal of attention from the scientific community, with molecular genetics in particular making the greatest recent progress. Thanks to modern methods of genome analysis, so-called genomics and other 'omics' disciplines, many biomarkers have been discovered, leading to better diagnosis, prognosis and more effective treatment with reduced incidence of adverse effects. However, there is still a long way to go in order to make the idea of personalised oncology, i. e., a precise therapeutic approach tailored to the individual patient, a reality. This paper examines three types of solid tumours. Firstly, breast cancer, which has the highest incidence worldwide in women, even overall. The next is colorectal cancer, which is the second and third most common cancer in women and men, respectively, and more common in...
The principle of contradictory in Criminal Proceedings
Jurčová, Karolína ; Mulák, Jiří (advisor) ; Hořák, Jaromír (referee)
The principle of contradictory in Criminal Proceedings Abstract The diploma thesis deals with the principle of contradictory in criminal proceedings, which is considered by the case law of the European Court of Human Rights as one of the essential elements of a fair hearing within the meaning of Article 6 para. 1 of the European Convention on Human Rights, and also as a part of the wider concept of the right to a fair trial. The definition of the principle of contradictory is not entirely clear in jurisprudence, which is mainly due to its different conception in the continental model of the criminal process and in the adversarial model. Although the principle of contradictory in criminal proceedings is not explicitly mentioned in Article 2 of the Code of the Criminal Procedure, over time it was established as one of the basic principles of criminal proceedings, particularly under the influence of case law of the European Court of Human Rights and the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to introduce possible concepts of the principle of contradictory, to analyse the aspects of this principle in criminal proceedings with an emphasis on the preliminary proceedings and on the stage of proceedings before the court, while at the same time to point out the exceptions to this...
Pro-Russian Slovakia? The main reasons for the popularity of pro-Russian views in Slovakia (comparison with the Czech Republic)
Jaklovský, Marek ; Kofroň, Jan (advisor) ; Žiljak, Filip (referee)
This bachelor thesis examines the main reasons for the occurrence of pro-Russian views and beliefs in the Slovak public. To answer the main research question, the author seeks to use a comparative analysis of the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic, due to their shared history, linguistic and cultural similarities, but different values in relation to the support of pro-Russian and anti-Western views in their publics. The thesis comes up with several hypotheses of possible reasons for the increased prevalence of these views among Slovak citizens, which the thesis tests using a comparative analysis of public opinion and its own content analysis of the output of politicians in the Slovak and Czech Republics. Using the first hypothesis, the author tests the influence of political elites in the Czech Republic and Slovakia on public opinion. Political elites are assigned to the respective category after content analysis of their outputs and after measuring their popularity through the latest election results. By testing hypotheses 2 and 3, the thesis examines how distrust in the media and belief in conspiracy theories, on the one hand, and the collective memory of the citizens of the two countries under study, on the other hand, influence the possible emergence of pro-Russian and anti-Western views in...
