Synchronization of peripheral circadian clocks during ontogenesis.
Paušlyová, Lucia ; Sumová, Alena (advisor) ; Hock, Miroslav (referee)
The circadian system is an important coordinator of physiological functions of a mammalian organism. It comprises of a central oscillator represented by cells in the suprachiasmatic nuclei of hypothalamus (SCN) and peripheral oscillators in most if not all cells of peripheral tissues. The peripheral oscillators, similarly to the central ones, generate circadian oscillations at the level of so called clock genes and their protein products. In peripheral tissues, oscillations in expression of the individual clock genes are autonomous, however, they need to be synchronized to ensure their robust rhythmic expression. The peripheral clocks are synchronized mainly by rhythmical signals from the SCN, including signals regulating food intake. Disturbances in the clock gene expressions, as well as impaired synchronization signals, can result in various pathophysiological states. Spontaneously hypertensive rat (SHR) strain is a convenient animal model to study potential connection between the disturbed circadian system and progressive development of hypertension and metabolical diseases in mammals. Various studies have shown differences in the rhythmical expression of clock genes between SHR strain and normotensive Wistar/Wistar-Kyoto strain. The aim of this thesis is to provide insight into the early...

Suprachiasmatic nuclei as a daily clock and calendar
Pačesová, Dominika ; Sumová, Alena (advisor) ; Hock, Miroslav (referee)
The suprachiasmatic nuclei (SCN) harbor the master circadian pacemaker in mammals which is responsible for control and coordination of circadian rhythms throughout the body. They are a paired structure in the hypothalamus, located just above the optic chiasm, consisting of approximately 20 000 neurons. Due to their specific properties, the SCN have a unique position within the circadian system. They are connected with retina and, therefore, they can directly receive information about changes in external light/dark cycle. The individual SCN neurons are independent autonomous circadian oscillators which are inter-connected in a communication network. This network allows the individual SCN oscillators to synchronize among each other and thus to increase the precision and robustness of the oscillations. This work is focused to summarize the knowledge on the structure and function of the SCN at the level of single cells, subpopulations of cells and the whole SCN. The specific goal of this work is a summary of the factors that determine their central role within the circadian system.
Movement in mathematics
Muchová, Zuzana ; Jirotková, Darina (advisor) ; Hejný, Milan (referee)
In my thesis I concern with the use of motoric activities in math classes. The chapters that offer a range of motoric activities were processed on the base of a questionnaire and an experiment. Some of the activities are currently being implemented in math classes by teachers of first, second and third grades at primary schools, others are part of textbooks designed for this age group. In addition to that, I offer five more possible activities, which have been recorded and interpreted within six experiments. The goal of the thesis is to demonstrate that physical movement cannot be separated from the life of six to nine years old children, and offer some motoric activities, which can potentially be contributive for development of mathematical skills and abilities.
Cellular signaling pathways engaged in the entrainment of mammalian biological clock
Červená, Kateřina ; Bendová, Zdeňka (advisor) ; Svobodová, Irena (referee)
The mammalian biological clock is based on endogenous rhythmic oscillations of the so-called clock genes which affects the timing of the external manifestations, such as rhythmic alternations of sleep and activity. This endogenous mechanism, of which the innate period slightly deviates from the solar time, can be adjusted by various external synchronizers to the exact 24 hour period. This thesis is focused on the influence of the most prominent synchronizer, the sunlight, on the molecular basis of changes in the dynamics of internal mechanism of the oscillations in the main mammalian circadian pacemaker, the suprachiasmatic nuclei of the hypothalamus. There are numerous studies which have demonstrated the effect of various cellular signaling pathways on changes of circadian rhythms. The most common methods of assessing the oscillation phase changes, however, measure changes in output rhythms that may not always reflect the changes in the molecular mechanism itself. The aim is to evaluate which components of signaling pathways have provably shown to affect the dynamics of the rhythmic expression of clock genes.

Špeťko, Matej ; Viktorin, Jan (referee) ; Košař, Vlastimil (advisor)
SEC6NET is an abbreviation for project Modern tools for detection and mitigation of cyber criminality on the New Generation Internet. Project is focused on research and development of means for monitoring and analysing the network flow. Probes for monitoring IPv6 networks are developed within this project. Probes are using hardware acceleration based on FPGA platform. My thesis connects two technologies: FPGA and USB. The goal is to transfer data from the FPGA microchip to PC using Cypress EZ-USB FX3 microcontroller. The first part is focused on transferring data from FPGA to FX3 microcontroller. Second part describes the modification of FX3 firmware for getting maximum throughput. The last part focuses on implementing PC application for Linux operating system. The application receives data from the probe and saves them into hard drive using PCAP format.

Synchronous Formal Systems Based on Grammars and Transducers
Práce prezentuje nové teoretické výsledky ohledně generativní a přijímajicí síly. Poslední část práce zkoumá možnosti lingvisticky orientovaných aplikací se zameřením na překlad přirozeného jazyka. Diskutuje a srovnává hlavní výhody nových modelů s využitím vybraných případových studií z českého, anglického a japonského jazyka pro ilustraci.
The use of user accounts and related server services among primary schools
NOVOTNÝ, Jakub
The content of the bachelor's thesis is the way how user accounts are used by pupils and staff at primary schools, whether the school uses a server, alternatively which services are running there and how they are configured, and whether it is used only local accounts, or at least partially synchronized. The thesis is also concerned with the solution which is set at a particular primary school, which reason led to that, and whether it is suitable for its needs (the pros and cons of the solution). All of the information was gathered via recorded interviews with ICT coordinators and network administrators of schools, and interviews were also accompanied by teacher's view. The result of this work is the finding that the use of user accounts, servers and related server services at schools brings huge asset to not only teachers and students, but also to an administrator of the school network. This is due to the portability of user data, simplification and centralized administration of the school network. This work can therefore help schools in making decision whether establish user accounts for their employees and pupils, and possibly administrators with creating user accounts.
