Use of laser machines for engraving
Bernátek, Vojtěch ; Dvořák, Jaromír (referee) ; Slaný, Martin (advisor)
The diploma thesis covers laser engraving machines topic. In the theoretical part, it briefly covers laser technology and laser engraving in general. It also mentions history of laser engraving, especially rise and development of the laser itself, laser engraving, as well as characteristics of laser engraving machines. A description of laser engraving machines parts and the working principles of laser technology as such are also included. All objects and materials suitable for laser engraving are also described is the thesis. Furthermore, comparison of laser engraving and other traditional methods of micro machining or surface treatment in general is depicted. In the practical part, thesis deals with the goal of finding the exact corrections on the laser engraving machine necessary to be made when using swing method. Major advantage of this method is its time saving ability during the engraving process, but the corrections mentioned above are needed as inaccuracies emerge due to the kinematics and dynamics of the machine. Last, but not least, ascertained corrections were plotted into a graph and a sample product was engraved using the corrections found.

Use of laser scanning head for surface hardening
Jedličková, Veronika ; Sigmund, Marian (referee) ; Mrňa, Libor (advisor)
The diploma thesis addressed the issue of laser surface hardening using dynamic oscillation of the laser beam. The theoretical part presents the hardening technology and suitable using of laser equipments. The fiber laser YLS 2000 was used in the experiment and the hardened material was steel 12 050, which is suitable for laser hardening. The influence of two selected parameters of the scan head on the resulting structure and hardness of hardening layers was examined. Based on the results, the choice of optimal parameters for identical conditions with the experiment was recommended.

SMV-2020-29: An optical radiation source assembly with an optional coherence length
Lazar, Josef ; Buchta, Zdeněk ; Pikálek, Tomáš
This laser system combining three light sources with various coherence lengths has been developed for advanced interferometry techniques based on Twyman-Green interferometer inspecting complex optical setups with a sequence of reflecting optical surfaces. It introduces a unique concept of reduction of unwanted “dead fringes” generated by multiple reflections. It is introduced into quality control by an optical manufacturing company Meopta-optika and production of a few more is being prepared.
