Italian idioms containing the names of animals and their Czech equivalents

This thesis deals with Italian idioms containing the names of animals. The work is divided into two parts. The first, theoretical part, focuses on the definition of the term "idiomatic expression", on the inner structure of idioms and on their function. The second part analyses selected sample of idioms according to their inner structure. It also outlines the possibilities of syntactic manipulation and inner transformation. This part focuses primarily on the translatological analysis of the sample of idiomatic expressions, i. e. on the possibilities of their translation to Czech. The aim of the thesis is to outline the possibilities of translation of the idiomatic expressions to Czech and to study the level of equivalence.
Fran\c{c}ois Rabelais seen by Czech literary critics

This thesis is focused on reception of the work of the French renaissance writer François Rabelais. The main objective of the thesis is to ascertain how his work was perceived by Czech and also European critics. François Rabelais entered the Czech literary context due to the translation of his work by a group of translators named Jihočeská Theléma. This thesis deals with the perception of his work by contemporary literary critics and ascertains whether the views of Czech and European critics are identical or different. The thesis also deals with the translation group called Jihočeská Theléma and with the issue of Gargantua and Pantagruel novel entering the Czech literary scene. One subsection is dedicated to the legal action with V. K. Blahník, who used the Czech translation of Gargantua without agreement with the publisher Reise and without permission of Jihočeská Theléma.
French Law Terminology in Founding Treaties of the EC / EU

Abstract The aim of this study is the analysis of collocations and their translations. This work was based on the legislative text of the European Union, namely the text of the Consolidated text of the Treaty on European Union and the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. The theoretical part describes how to obtain required text, corpus linguistics, principles of translation of legislative texts, explanations of the terms of the collocation and the term. The practical part analyzed the therms and their translation.
Gerund and its Czech Equivalents in Texts of European Union Law.

Abstract The graduation theses named "Gerund and its Czech Equivalents in Texts of European Union Law" examine the ways of gerund application in Spanish expert language focusing particularly on the gerund structures interpretation. The theses are composed of two main parts: the theoretical part and the practical part. In its theoretical part, the author targets first the use of gerund in general. Above all, she specifies an overview of gerund´s main roles in Spanish sentences there, and recites various possibilities how to translate this verbal form to the Czech language. The second and important chapter of the theoretical part is called "Use of gerund in Spanish legal language". It studies gerunds found out in texts from the sphere of the expert (administrative-legal) language only. As the main source of information used for the practical studies was considered the internet portal EUR-Lex where we found out expressions containing Spanish gerunds together with their Czech equivalents used there. They were then classified based on the way of their interpretation. We examined two areas of legal experts text marked "All treaties" and "Judgements of Court of Justice". The theses are concluded by comparison of equivalents taken from two above mention ranges of texts as well as comparing results of EUR-Lex survey with the theoretical part of theses where we used the classification of gerund translation according authors Veselá Jana, Reska Jaroslav and Jašek David (2004).

This graduation thesis with title Interpretations of Josef Švejk in The Contexts of Czech and International Literary Science has an aim doucment and analyze interpretation models of Josef Švejk in the novel The Good Solider Švejk by Jaroslav Hašek. In base the materials gain the figure of Josef Švejk will be assess in context of Czech esthetic and ideal discourse. In graduation thesis will be put big emphasis on sence of language. From this reason is a part of this thesis dedicate to liguistic analysis.
French and Czech terminology in European Legislative Texts Focused on the Field: "Labour Conditions - Safety of Workers"

The thesis deals with the French and Czech terminology that occurs frequently in European legislative texts focused on the field "Labour conditions - safety of workers". The thesis consists of two main parts. The first, theoretical one explains prolems of corpus linguistics, corpora and parallel corpora and it describes more in detail parallel corpora with the French language, which are currently available. The second, research part is devoted to the analysis of the parallel corpus of the chosen French and Czech terminology with the aid of the special programme called "ParaConc" and it evaluates quality of the translation of the terms and their collocations, that are typical of the domain of labour law. In conclusion, a small French-Czech dictionary of the investigated terminology is attached.

French and Czech Terminology in European Legislative Texts from the Domain: Judicial Cooperation in Civil Matters

The bachelor work deals with the Czech translations of the French version of the European legislative texts from the area "Judicial cooperation in civil matters" and their correctness. The first part handles definitions of linguistic terminology used in the present work. Then there is a short presentation of the terms "corpus" and "corpus linguistics" and the selection of studied texts with brief presentation of the software used for the work with parallel corpuses. The second part analyses the correctness of the Czech translations from the French equivalents whereas the purpose is to locate incorrect translations and propose suitable solutions. The work ends with French-Czech vocabulary of studied terms and collocations.
French and Czech terminology in European legislative texts from the domain: Police cooperation

The main theme of the bachelor thesis is the analysis of the Czech and French terminology used in the European legislative texts aimed at the section {\clqq}Police cooperation``. The first, theoretic part attends to the general principles used for the translation of the legislative texts and to the Czech and European institutions, which participated on the translation of the acquis communautaire into the Czech language. In the second part is described the analysis of the investigated specialized terminology in terms of accuracy of the translation, especially respecting of the obligatory forms in accordance with the terminology databases ISAP and IATE. A thematic French-Czech dictionary resulting from the created parallel corpus is introduced in the appendix.

The object of this diploma thesis, with a title of To the language of Itinerarium Antonini Placentini, is to achieve a lingvistic and stylistic analysis of this text and to offer its compact translation with a regard for differences, which occur in three extant versions. This text, written in a vulgar latin, comes from the 6th century A. D. and describes the journey of anonymous author to the Holy Land. The problem of incident aspects of the vulgar latin from phonetic, morfological, syntactic and lexical viewpoint is also a part of this thesis. The attention is given more to the studying of the nominal forms of verbs. The characteristics of the stylistic aspect of Itinerarium and the subject commentary, which is necessary to the correct undestanding, aren´t missing of course.
