Analysis of tool steel cracking and a study of its elimination
Tomešek, Viktor ; Polzer, Aleš (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe the causes and mechanisms of degradation processes that affect the surface of tools made of tool steel and to design and verify a practical solution that would lead to higher resistance of tools to these processes. Chapters in the theoretical part deal with fracture behavior of the material and the possibilities of its elimination, the experimental part includes testing of the effect of coating on the durability of hot forming tools.
On the increase of cutting performance of thread cutting taps with coatings
Vondra, Tomáš ; Polzer, Aleš (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
The aim of this master's thesis is to deal with main thread production methods and to study the influence of coatings on tap cutting performance. The high-speed steel cutting taps with different PVD coatings (Physical Vapour Deposition) were tested, while the same cutting conditions were set. Cutting torques were measured and analysed, which together with the results of evaluation of tool wear led to conclusion.
HSS end milling cutters with PVD coatings and their use in practice
Vondra, Jiří ; Slaný, Martin (referee) ; Jaroš, Aleš (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the durability of PVD coating in front groove milling. In the theoretical part there is the analysis of high-speed steels, a survey of milling and an overview of coating methods. The experimental part is focused on the power ratios during milling with a router cutter and its wear. From the experiment it is possible to conclude that nanocomposite coatings reduce cutting forces, but do not produce the most durable tool under the cutting conditions.
COSIM - Coating Simulation
Jílek, Jan ; Kofroň, Jan (advisor) ; Malohlava, Michal (referee)
In the given coating chamber is a system of rotating holders, which holds rotating tools. The chamber also contains electrodes (of various materials), from which the material evaporates and is coating the tools. The goal of this thesis is to simulate the process of coating and visualize the resulting layer in given places of coated tools depending on their placement, number, rotation speed and other optional settings.
Process Gas Heating Systems in Cold Spraying
Babinský, Tomáš ; Ing. Tomas Denk, Glass Service Inc., Vsetin, CR (referee) ; Čížek, Jan (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor's thesis is to present ways of gas heating used in the cold spray technology. Primarily the work is focused on description of currently-used techniques of high-pressure gas heating in cold spray and introduction to commercial products. Part of the work is dedicated to the gas temperature influence on the coating process. Gas heating methods in various industrial applications are summarized in the final chapter for potential use in cold spray technology.
Machinable bioceramic foams prepared by gelcasting method
Šťastný, Přemysl ; Částková, Klára (referee) ; Trunec, Martin (advisor)
Diploma thesis is focused on development of method for preparation individualized bioscaffolds prepared by milling of HA foam prepared by gel casting method and consolidated via epoxy curing reaction. Diploma thesis continues in bachelor thesis Modern processing methods of porous bioceramics. Literature search is filled in the newest knowledge from the field of bioactivity enhancement of scaffolds. Experimental part of diploma thesis described development of system for individualized scaffold manufacturing from HA suspension preparation, preparation of ceramic blocks used as material for machining to final blocks machining. Pressure strength of foam were evaluated, too. Chosen samples were coated with calcium polyphosphate coating for biological response enhancement. Coated samples were given for in-vivo test to partner university in Beijing under the terms of project FP7-NMP-2013-EU-China: "Bioscaffolds"
Influence of coatings on durability of cutting inserts during longitudinal turning
Balíček, Martin ; Sámelová, Vendula (referee) ; Jaroš, Aleš (advisor)
This thesis deals with the influence of deposited coatings for durability and tool wear during longitudinal turning of steel CSN 41 1600 (E335) and influence of wear and surface quality. The theoretical part is focused on characteristics of turning technology, application, manufacturing and methods of coating cemented carbide and tool wear. The experimental part of the thesis includes the evaluation of the measured values, a description of the material, used tools and machine tool. The values measured in the experiment imply that the most suitable of the tested tool inserts is WNMG 3-1-NF with applied coating TiAlN + TiN. Surface quality decreases with increasing wear of the tool.
The comparison of cutting tools for milling of dental impression made from materials Ti6Al4V ELI and CoCr
Bíba, David ; Zemčík, Oskar (referee) ; Dvořák, Jaromír (advisor)
The aim of this dissertation is the comparison of two chosen milling tools. Both milling tools are made of solide carbides and therefore the theoretical part deals with these materials. We compare the chemical composition as well as the milling tools materials. Next chapter deals with the geometry of the milling tools with semi-circular front blades cutting edges and comparison. In the last part of the dissertation we test the durability. The data gained by a micrometric method are interpreted in the graph. By means of this research we found out the impact on the suitably chosen geometry on splinters and wear resistance. It is possible to optimize the produced milling tools or to choose more suitable tool instrument on the basis of gained durability data.
Wear of hard coatings
Černý, Libor ; Křupka, Ivan (referee) ; Omasta, Milan (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis was made as a description of the main technological methods, which are used in order to manufacture hard coatings. Applications of hard coatings are realized to improve tribological properties of components in various industries. The aim is to minimize the amount of wear and friction losses. Thesis also discusses methods of measuring the hard coatings wear. These methods are important to determine the properties of coating layers and their subsequent use. A lot of testing methods offer sufficient possibilities to test various mechanisms of wear in variety of laboratory conditions. Additionally in the end of the thesis there is an experimental wear measurement of specimen on tribometer using the "Pin on disc" method. Both size and type of the wear are evaluated by profilometer.
The influence of PVD coating on tool life of cutting inserts during face milling
Jašek, Petr ; Fiala, Zdeněk (referee) ; Jaroš, Aleš (advisor)
This diploma thesis is aimed on durability of PVD and CVD coatings for symmetrical face milling. The theoretical part describes the characteristics of cemented carbides, milling technology and the characteristics of the coating methods. The experimental part describes the machine tool, used tools, workpiece material and cutting conditions. The aim of the work was to measure the cutting forces and tool wear during the milling. Based on experiment, it is clear that the PVD coatings with nano-layers achieves to the longer life in comparison with others and generally, that the using of coatings leads to reduction of cutting powers and lifetime was increased.
