The Seniors´ Leisure Time Using in Old People´s Homes after the Legislation Change
KROUPOVÁ, Jitka
Ageing population becomes a world-wide problem of the 21st century. The old age represents changes in physical, psychical and social sphere. The image of {\clqq}successful`` ageing is based mainly on the improvement of life quality and adaptation to old age. Special attention is paid to keeping an active lifestyle, even at an old age. The way of spending free time significantly affects both the mental and the physical state of the seniors. Leisure time of the seniors can be filled up with their private activities or with the activities offered in the homes for seniors. The new Act on Social Services, effective since January 2007, regulates mainly the overall conception and conditions for providing social services. Among other affected subjects, the changes stated in the Act also apply to the homes for seniors, their users and providers. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the problems related to ageing and old age, with special focus on seniors´ free time and their leisure activities. I attempted to tackle the problems from the point of view of the Act on Social Services. The research aim was to find out if the changes related to new legislation influenced leisure activities in the homes for seniors. Reaching this aim was facilitated by the hypothesis saying that the legislation changes (Act no. 108/2006 of the Law Code) did not influence the way of spending free time among the clients in the homes for seniors. To elaborate the practical part I applied quantitative survey based on the technique of controlled interviews with seniors in chosen homes for seniors. As an auxiliary method I applied document analysis, namely the technique of the secondary analysis of data. Controlled interviews were conditioned by the fact that the seniors were clients of the given home, their cognitive functions were not impaired and they were willing to provide the answers. The interviews were anonymous and contained 21 questions each. The research showed that the respondents did not mention any obvious changes in spending their free time which could be related to new legislation, and similarly they did not observe changes in leisure activities provided by the home for seniors. I assume that the initial hypothesis was proved by the research. In my opinion the bachelor thesis could provide the broad public with information on the ways of spending leisure time among the clients in the homes for seniors.

A stoma is indicated either after an injury, an illness or a loss of functionality and patency, It constitutes management of a life threatening situation and facilitates life restoration. Basic types of stoma are described, and since the most common type are colostomy and ileostomy, a greater attention is given to the disease and its treatment in the small and large intestine at the ends of which the stoma is created. The thesis also deals with the stoma aids, leisure time activities, psychological aspects of the disease, social problems and awareness of patients with a stoma. One of the objectives was to find out how patients with a stoma spend their leisure time and if they tend to isolate themselves from society because of their handicap. Another objective was to determine if persons with a stoma are sufficiently informed about leisure time activities they could pursue and where to get the information. The data needed to carry out this survey were obtained through studying professional materials available. The quantitative research method of interviewing was chosen, the data collection technique was an anonymous questionnaire aimed at a certain set of respondents as well as semi-standardized interviews with professionals who were given questionnaires for the respondents. The research set was formed by respondents with a type of a stoma mentioned in the questionnaire. It has been found out that the most common type of a stoma is ileostomy, predominantly in men. The research has shown that persons with a stoma isolate themselves from society and are not sufficiently informed about leisure time activities they could pursue. The research results should bring a better cooperation among professionals and thus enhance awareness and improve care not only for persons with a stoma. The outcomes of the thesis could make professionals produce literature concerning the life of persons with a stoma and update the existing information with new experience, advice and recommendations.

Minority group children and their activities in Salesian Centres in Teplice and České Budějovice
BÁRTOVÁ, Martina
In our free time, we pursue activities where we experience delight, pleasure, entertainment and relaxation. The choice is based on our free will. The key functions of leisure time are psychological, social, therapeutic and economic. What is specific about leisure time of children and youth is that pedagogues can encourage them. Leisure time is at the same time a risk factor. The ever increasing number of drug and gambling machine addicted young people shows the potential serious consequences of neglect of leisure-time pedagogical encouragement. Salesian Youth Centres provide a great opportunity for pedagogues to encourage minority group children (especially Roma children in the Czech Republic) in their leisure-time. The idea behind the centres is to offer leisure-time activities for such {\clqq}different`` young people looking for different forms of activities, respecting their social structure, i.e. a natural team in which they unite, and offering them an environment where they can socialise in a friendly atmosphere and feel free. Despite their continuously increasing number, the Roma population is a minority showing considerable differences from other nations and nationalities. They are different in terms of race and their ethnic attributes, they live in considerable poverty and have a completely different lifestyle. The objective of my Baccalaureate thesis is to find out what conditions Salesian Youth Centres in Teplice and České Budějovice create for purposeful opportunities for leisure-time activities for minority group children, whether the offer is sufficient and how the mentality of this ethnic group is taken into account. I also wanted to find out what activities are prioritised by the children and why. I have developed 3 assumptions, where no. 1 is: {\clqq}Most of the activities are affected by the mentality of the clients who take part in developing the programme``, assumption no. 2: {\clqq}Minority group children are more active in integrating into occasional and spontaneous interest activities rather than regular interest activities``, and assumption no. 3: {\clqq}Minority group children integrate mostly into interest, cultural and sports activities. They rarely integrate into natural science and craftsmanship.`` A quantitative method of inquiry was applied to collect the required data on the specific topics. I chose 2 techniques, i.e. an inquiry focusing on minority group children and a controlled interview with leisure-time pedagogues. To confirm or disprove the assumptions, I had to evaluate all the inquiry questions and those in the controlled interview. My research has confirmed assumption No. 1 and 3, and disproves assumption no.2.
