Identifikace zdrojů jemného (PM0,15-1,15) a hrubého aerosolu v Mladé Boleslavi v zimě 2013
Model PMF analyzoval data z hodinových hodnot hmotnostní koncentrace PM a 27 prvků jemného a hrubého aerosolu a OC/EC jemného aerosolu.

SMPS Spectra Dependence on Air Masses Origin at Košetice Station
Zíková, Naděžda ; Ždímal, Vladimír
The varibility in atmospheric aerosol (AA) concentrations is considerable even at rural background stations with suppressed direct anthropogenic influence (Zíková & Ždímal, 2013), and strongly depends, among other meteorological parameters, on wind speed and direction. The wind direction, however, gives only limited information on the air masses origin, so the more detailed analysis of air mass trajectories was done to describe the variability of the AA at the Košetice station.

Trends of PM2.5 and Chemical Composition in at a Regional Backround Site in the Western Mediteranean over the Past Nine Years
Cusack, Michael ; Alastuey, A. ; Perez, N. ; Pey, J. ; Querol, X.
The findings in this article provide good evidence that the implementation of Pollution abatement strategies in Europr is having a direct effect on the level of PM2.5 and its various components. It is also hypothesised that the current economic climate, in reccesion since mid 2008 in Spain and many counties in Europe, is also affecting atmospheric pollutants through a reduction in activities associated with a healthy economy. A reduction in PM2.5 concentrations has been observed in Spain and across Europe, in most cases, this reduction has been gradual and consistent over time, implying the success of cleaner anthropogenic activities. Additional to this progressive trend, in some cases and especially for RB stations in the IP and Ispra in nothern Italy, a marked decrease has been recorded since 2008, coinciding with the begidding of the economic crisis. Finally, large scale meteorology has been shown to be an important influental factor on ambient aerosol concentrations across the Iberian Peninsula, with the North Atlantic Oscillation controlling the frequency of Sahara dust instrusions across the Iberian Peninsula in winter. Specially at MSY, organic matter and secondary inorganic aerosol accounted for the majority of the reduction observed.

Ultrafine Particle Concentrations: Importance of Local Sources and New Particle Formation in Two Central European Cities
Wonaschuetz, A. ; Wagner, R. ; Aschauer, I. ; Haindl, R. ; Ludwig, W. ; Zecha, G. ; Ondráček, Jakub ; Vodička, Petr ; Zíková, Naděžda ; Ždímal, Vladimír ; Schwarz, Jaroslav ; Hitzenberger, R.
In this study, the importance of local primary sources and new particle formation as sources of fine and ultrafine particles is investigated for winter and summer in two central European cities. Particular attention is given to the impact of local meteorological characteristics: air mass origins play a large role in the characteristics of the background aerosol and the concentrations of trace gases associated with new particle formation and growth, and precipitation and thus the condensational sink.

Robust Approach for Environmental and Health Practice: Novel Paradigm for Data Treatment and Analysis
Wagner, Zdeněk ; Ocelka, T. ; Pavliska, L.
Knowledge of concentration of atmospheric aerosol particles may provide an important information in applications concerning human health. Aerosol studies reach into several fields of science. In the past decades it was shown that enhanced concentration of atmospheric aerosol lead to increased mortality on cardiopulmonary diseases and lung cancer. This work presents a robust method of estimation of particle size distribution based on mathematical gnostics. The algorithm may either be used as a manual tool for analyzing a small number of particle size distributions ex post or as a routine implemented in automatic monitoring devices for near real time processing of measured data and immediate online display on a web site. The method has sucessfully been implemented for near real time analysis of data measured by a scanning mobility particle sizer conformant to recommendations defined in the framework of the EUSAAR project.
