Financial Literacy and Possibilities of Its Increasing

This bachelor thesis in the field of finances specifically deals with the issue of financial literacy and its teaching. The focus is primarily on the situation in the Czech Republic. The main goal is to determine the current situation in education at Czech elementary schools, and to compare selected projects aimed at increasing the level of pupils´ financial literacy. The work is subdivided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part is to explain basic concepts and terms and their outline, and to provide a summary of the issues. It also includes an analysis of the selected educational projects in the field. The practical part contains an outline and results of a survey conducted among elementary school pupils.
Strategy of financial education in the Czech Republic and its implementation

This bachelor thesis describes financial literacy in the Czech Republic. The thesis should provide to readers comprehensive summary about level of financial education in the Czech Republic and should illustrate importance of this education for the whole society. Big part of this work is devoted to the most important documents approved by the Czech government which are intended to improve level of financial literacy of Czech citizens. These documents also exactly determine the term of financial literacy. Further the work deals with completed researches in this area and the content is enriched by own research focused on financial literacy development of secondary school pupils. One of the main goals of the thesis is to find available possibilities of financial education both for schools and for adults. Additionally the thesis presents survey of publications and other study materials available to this topic on the Czech market.

HRABOVSKÁ, M. Study of the level of financial literacy in the Czech Republic. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2014 This bachelor thesis aims at providing an analysis of projects and activities promoting financial literacy in the Czech Republic. As a first approach, this paper deals with a general introduction to the topic of financial education and the characteristics of organizations which are involved in this field. It is based on criteria which help making comparison between the activities developed in the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Belgium in favour of financial literacy. As for a conclusion, the last part of this document evaluates the level of awareness of financial education in both studied countries and is followed by recommendations.
Finanční gramotnost jako nástroj pro snižování zadluženosti domácností

This bachelor thesis deals with the indebtedness of Czech households and the level of financial literacy of the Czech population. The theoretical part describes the de-velopment, structure, negative impacts of the indebtedness and, in particular, the main economic factors affecting loans to households. Further work identified rela-tionship between indebtedness and financial literacy and described steps taken to increase financial literacy through financial education. The core of the work is the analysis of the impact of selected factors on household indebtedness. Based on re-sults is predicted future development of the indebtedness of Czech households and also are designed recommendations to increase the financial literacy of Czech households.

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of financial literacy among the Czech Republic population and the financial education. The thesis compares different financial literacy surveys carried out by third subjects and identifies the means of financing its support. As a practical part of this thesis, the survey of financial literacy among high school third and fourth year students and expert interviews with qualified teachers have been conducted. On the basis of the obtained research results, recommendations on increasing target group's financial literacy are suggested.
Financial education for elementary school 2nd stage

This master's thesis maps the current state of Czech primary schools in the times when the standards defined in the document "Systém budování finanční gramotnosti na základních a středních školách" were implemented into RVP and subsequently into ŠVP as well. The theoretical part describes the issue of financial literacy and progress of the aforementioned implementation into RVP. The next chapter is focused on the first large survey of financial literacy PISA 2012 which was under the auspices of OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development). The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with analysis of learning materials which are available to help improve financial literacy. I used method of didactic test in my research and its methodology and analysis are described in another part of this thesis.
The situation in financial literacy in the EU

The aim of the diploma thesis is to explore the activities of the countries of the European Union in the district of financial literacy and to draw conclusions and eventually recommendations for the Czech Republic. At first, activities were detected in the district of financial literacy of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Austria and New Zealand and consequently were drew conclusions. Severally countries have developed many projects for improving financial literacy, but financial literacy isn´t still equally high in these countries, as it was showed by research PISA 2012. Next, questionaire relevant to financial institutions was applied to inhabitants of South Bohemia. The research was evaluated graphically and statistically. For statistical evaluation was used test assessment of independence Chi-quadrat for contingent table. The results of own research are very disturbing. Inhabitants of South Bohemia lack knowledge of important financial notions, they don´t know the difference between debit and credit cards and they don´t know, what is the APRC. One of the important results of the questionaire includes trust of the people to staff of the branches of banks or insurance companies. These people would contacted with most respondents in the case of dissatisfaction with the course of financial services. Contrariwise, people behave distrust to financial advisors, a few respondents use their services. The results of research correspond to the general level of financial literacy in the Czech Republic, which was discovered by general methods based on researches of Czech National Bank or PISA before now.
Analysis of financial literacy in Russia, with an emphasis on students of secondary schools and universities

The objective of this work is to survey the level of financial literacy among students of secondary schools and universities in the Russian Federation, and compare it with the survey from 2008. This diploma thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is theoretical and describes Russia's actions in improving the financial literacy of its citizens. It also very briefly describes the situation in the Czech Republic. The main channels for disseminating financial literacy in the Russian Federation and the activities of the World Bank are introduced (as well). The practical part analyzes the results of a survey from 2013, which are compared with a similar survey from 2008 by the National Agency for Financial Research. A better understanding of the problems is provided by graphs and tables.
The Level of Financial Literacy of Citizens

The aim of this diploma thesis is an analysis of a level of financial literacy of citizens of Czech Republic. The opening part concentrates on the definition of basic concepts and on the characteristic of financial literacy. The second chapter deals with activities and programs for support of financial literacy on a multinational and European level and describes activities, which support financial literacy in the Czech Republic. The final chapter of this theoretical part contains a summary of the most important concepts of financial literacy in the context of normal civic life. The findings and outcomes of the fourth chapter are based on the processing results of the survey aimed to examine the financial literacy of the sample of respondents. The last part of this thesis is devoted to demonstration of possible activities to increase financial literacy.
