Transport model of Blansko city
Felkl, Jan ; Štefan, Marek (referee) ; Všetečka, Martin (advisor)
In my diploma thesis, I applied IT model by Aimsun software on the traffic situation in the city of Blansko. I created my own model showing positives and negatives of planned bridge project across the river Svitava and the railroad corridor applying available information and documents regarding the project and my own data in this specific area. This overpass shall improve the traffic situation in the city of Blansko because mentioned bridge project shall be the second connection of two parts of the city of Blansko that is split by the river of Svitava. In this thesis, I apply the bridge project on the current traffic situation assuming that the bridge project will be implemented in 3 years. I deal with the situation in the city of Blansko with and without implementation of the bridge project.
Traffic flow microsimulation in line management.
Mlčková, Ivana ; Apeltauer, Tomáš (referee) ; Apeltauer, Jiří (advisor)
The main task of this thesis is to verify the line management of traffic. A microsimulation model of traffic was made in program for traffic simulation called Aimsun. The data from radar measuring have been processed and then put into the model. Some of parameters in model were adapted to meet the reality on the road. Finally, there have been suggested more suggestions in this model and the efficiency of the solutions was evaluated.
2 + 1 Roads
Kosňovský, Michal ; Apeltauer, Tomáš (referee) ; Kocourek,, Jiří (referee) ; Radimský, Michal (advisor)
This dissertation addresses the possibility of using the 2+1 road arrangement in the Czech Republic. Given that there is no such 2+1 segment in the Czech Republic, it was necessary to find sections with similar characteristics, evaluate and measure the rate of accidents as well as sectional velocity. The accident rate was evaluated on 72 sections and based on this research the optimal length of 2+1 arrangement road sections was determined. Digital image analysis and license plate recognition was used to evaluate the sectional velocity. Eight selected sections was subjected to the additional sectional velocity measurement, which showed improvement in passenger vehicles travel time. Traffic model microsimulations were performed after the data analysis. 2+1 arrangement roads are suitable solution for increasing travel speeds on sections where building of four-lane road is not economically viable.
Traffic engineering design of Přímá-Nábřeží intersection in Zlin
Hájková, Barbora ; Dorňák, David (referee) ; Smělý, Martin (advisor)
The master’s thesis deals with a solution of a complicated traffic situation on the Přímá – Nábřeží intersection in Zlin. The first part of the thesis focuses on the diagnostic of the current state of the junction. In the second part, the author compares possible solutions, traffic light control is chosen as the best. Traffic light plans are designed and coordinated with a nearby traffic light controlled intersection Tomáše Bati – Přímá. It the last part, the solution is verified and represented by a microsimulation.
Lipůvka – turbo roundabout of roads I/43 and II/379
Patočka, Miroslav ; Sedlák, Lubomír (referee) ; Smělý, Martin (advisor)
This thesis builds on previous work on an Institute of Roads FAST VUT dealing with modifications of road I/43 Brno – Svitavy. A conversion of the existing temporary three leg single lane roundabout to egg turbo roundabout with four legs, is proposed there, in accordance with local plan of Lipůvka. The intersection of road I/43 and II/379 can be characterized by large congestions in the morning peak hours during weekdays and afternoon peak hours on Saturday and Sunday. That is the reason for implementation of capacity assessment of designed turbo roundabout and comparison with current situation. Construction of fourth leg is motivated by the planned expansion of residential area and the development of industrial zone on the south-western outskirts of the village and rerouting of the county road II/379 out of built-up area as well. Road I/43 is an important thoroughfare north of Brno, so it is obvious effort to eliminate the bottlenecks on the route. The thesis also includes a theoretical introduction dealing with the design of turbo roundabouts abroad.
Microsimulation of intersection in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm
Mičkal, Dalibor ; Smítal, Petr (referee) ; Holcner, Petr (advisor)
This thesis describes the concept of transport solution with the help of microsimulation. Using intensities obtained from the landscape is a simulation of the current status and new proposals. They are compared using a detention time. For the winning option will be implemented spatial study.
Increase transportation capacity of bottleneck caused by traffic restriction
Matuszková, Radka ; Ščerba, Marek (referee) ; Apeltauer, Tomáš (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the behaviour of traffic stream at work zones. It focuses primarily on alternating arranging just before funnelling of the traffic and creation of congestions. The study of parameters defined in the Aimsun program, that examines their effect on alternating arranging in micro-simulation, is a part of the thesis. The right setting of values is verified on traffic model formulated on the basis of video recording. The work aims to minimize effects of necessary repairs and reconstructions of roads by the telematic applications which dynamically affect the traffic stream by changing the maximum speed.
Microsimulation model of the road II/385 in Kuřim
Mlčková, Ivana ; Všetečka, Martin (referee) ; Holcner, Petr (advisor)
Bachelor thesis solves several issues of traffic solution with using microsimulation of traffic flow. Traffic dates, which were obtained during the fielding, were used for creating model of existing state in Aimsun. This simulation is supposed to be as close to reality as possible. Several solutions were suggested and the most effective was chosen.
Labour Force Participation and Tax-Benefit Systems: A Cross-Country Comparative Perspective
Galuščák, Kamil ; Kátay, Gábor
This paper investigates the extent to which cross-country differences in aggregate participation rates can be explained by divergence in tax-benefit systems. We take the example of two countries, the Czech Republic and Hungary, which – despite a lot of similarities – differ markedly in labour force participation rates. We first replicate for Czech household-level data the labour supply estimation for Hungary presented in Benczúr et al. (2014) and use the two perfectly comparable estimates to simulate how the aggregate participation rate would change in one country if the other country’s tax and social welfare system were adopted. Our estimation results yield similar labour supply elasticities for both countries, suggesting that individual preferences are essentially identical. The simulation results show that about one-half of the total difference in the participation rates of the 15–74 years old population can be explained by differences in the tax-benefit systems. The highest response is obtained for married women or women of childbearing age. This is related to the more generous maternity benefit system in place in Hungary as compared to the Czech Republic.
