The consequences of the monetary reforms in Czechoslovakia in 1953

The thesis focuses on monetary reform in Czechoslovakia in 1953. It concentrates especially on the impact of monetary reform on the population. Based on the hypothesis that the economic situation of the state and of the population has not improved as the monetary reform planned. The thesis describes postwar period of Czechoslovakia for a better evaulating and understanding of the monetary reform. The conclusion of the thesis is that monetary reform didn´t increase economic growth and damaged greatly all social strata of the population. The way how the monetary reform was proclaimed caused loosing population´s confidence in the government and in the currency.
Roma people and Velvet Revolution

This thesis approaches life of Roma people during communist era, and subsequent changes in their everyday life caused by the velvet revolution. First part approaches explanation of terms such as minority, nationality, integration and acculturisation, totalitarian regime and racial discrimination. The practical part deals with how Roma people dealt with changes inside regime. Testimonies of narrators were divided into larger groups such as everyday life before 1989, the velvet revolution era, life after 1989 Roma language and Roma identity. Thesis uses qualitative research in form of semi-structured interviews with 9 Roma people living in various parts of The Czech Republic.
Propaganda and Documentary Photography in 1950s in Czechoslovakia

The aim of the thesis Propaganda and Documentary Photography in 1950s in Czechoslovakia is to find out how the communist regime affected public via documentary photography published in its printed media Rudé Právo. The theoretical part explains the terms included in the name of the thesis such us propaganda, documentary photography, 1950s and printed media. The practical part of the thesis uses both of the analyses. The quantitative analysis presents numbers of photographs according to perspectives of time and toppic. The qualitative analysis reveals what the documentary photography contents in connection with Propaganda. Years that are compared are 1950 and 1959.
The Journal "Červen"

This thesis deals with a thorough analysis of the various editions of The Journal Červen which was published over the period of 1918 to 1921. Within three years of its existence arose four editions of the journal, while the content and genre focus has been transformed. Depending on this fact, the journal was altered and a group of authors who contributed to the journal with their texts, whether in the field of artistic or politically oriented articles. This bachelor thesis pursues these changes and gives a task to describe them. Our work occasionally deals with the socio-cultural context of the early 20s of the 20th century and chooses such historic events which could affect the final look of the journal. The main goal of this work is a description of four editions of The Journal Červen, its general characteristics, analysis of selected cases and mostly heuristic activity, without which could make our work could not begin.
Czechoslovakian Dance Artists' Conference of 1950

This bachelor's thesis deals with First Czechoslovakian Dance Artists' Conference, which took place in Brno on 28th and 29th March 1950, based on the stenographic notation of its progress. Due to the large range of stenographic notation, it focuses on the most discussed themes, such as; period dance scene condition and reactions to period dance pieces; the recently established state-owned education system; teaching method issues; private dance studios; pedagogues' expertise; labor turnover of dance artists; folk dancing as an inspirational source and dance literature. Participants' convictions and thoughts illustrate the process of forming new ideological stances on the dance art sphere in Czechoslovakia after 1948; it reveals personal stances of each participant. It shows: ambiguous dance artists' relationship to the newly forming state-owned education system together with the requirement for shutting down private dance studios, clashes of modern and ballet dance representatives and the usage of their teaching methods while training new dancers, social and existential status issues, finding new ballet repertoire and its artistic sources.
The journal "Plamen"

The work focuses on the journal Plamen and its development. This development is demonstrated on the first and the last year of the journal, which constitute its major milestones. The articles of every single issue of these two years are described and put in contrast to provide a reader with the main changes which happened throughout the ten-year development. The next part of the work displays various ideas of the future from 1967 and 1968. It presents the world of the pre-August liberalization, characteristic of the theories thematising a modern future, which lasts several months after the August invasion to the beginning of the normalization.
The Life and Work of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen

The work is focused on a life and work of archbishop Fulton J. Sheen and it is divided into three parts. The first part is concerned in bishop's life events and partly in bishop's charakter description. It is completed with american bishop's canonization process report. Second part is decribing literary legacy of bishop Sheen, trying to grasp main emphases in his work, referring on topical komplexity of Sheen's books, depicting author's apologetic writing style. The topic is accomplished with Appendix I. to submit complete Sheen's biography list. The third part is more profound insight into Sheen's christocentric theology which is particularly concerned in Cross, and it also includes further theological insights, biblical quotations and reflexions by several significant theologians. In fact, this part is theological interpretation of Sheen's book Life of Christ.
THE IMAGE OF DISSIDENT IN CZECH DOCUMENTARY FILM AFTER 1989

The work is attempting to describe the mental image of a dissident, the way it was most oftenly interpreted in the post Velvet revolution period films known to the public or regularly shown on the televion screens. For this purpose was chosen 53 films, which were devided according to their general interpretation and impression. I followed with an analyzation of the montage and bulding elements, that are used in these films, most oftenly shaping the opinion of the general public. The interpretations and contents of these films were compared to the results of the social-sientific research on the nature of normalization period and the dissent. Also these generally popular films were compared with the works standing outside of the mainstream documentary film, about the topic of dissent or previous regime in general. This theses is therefore refering to the problems of interpretation of the previous regime, normalization and the role of dissent in czech society.

The diploma thesis titled "Political developments in Vietnam from 1954 to the present" focuses on the political development of Vietnam after the war in Indochina until present days. It describes what led Ho Chi Minh to adopt communism, after what and by whom he was inspired and why communism has nowadays still a strong position in Vietnam. The main attention is devoted to the reforms of Doi Moi, that have lifted the country's economy. It outlines the positive and negative aspects following the introduction of these reforms.

Bachelor thesis deals with the monetary reform in Czechoslovakia in 1953. Aim of this thesis is to analyze the monetary reform and the answer to the question whether the reform has been implemented successfully and achieved all its objectives. The thesis is divided into three thematic chapters. The first part focuses on the economic and social development of Czechoslovakia before the monetary reform, that summarizes the situation of Czechoslovakia after World War II., the Communists revolution and, last but not least, is describing the transformation of the Czechoslovakian economy. The second chapter of the thesis is dedicated to the monetary reform and its causes, process and principles. Among others, here are explained preparations and secrecy of the monetary reform. The last part of the bachelor thesis focuses on the economic, social and political and also international consequences of the monetary reform.
