More general knowledge related to brace treatment proved to be quite satisfactory for the respondents, whereas more detailed...
Physiotherapy options for heel spurs
FIŠAROVÁ, Barbora
In my bachelor thesis I am looking into the possibilities of physiotherapy for heel spurs. Heel spur is a very common and unpleasant complication of everyday life. It is an ossification of the attachment of the plantar fascia to the calcaneus, which is accompanied by inflammation. In the theoretical part I describe the anatomy of the foot, where I mainly deal with the foot arches, the muscles clamping in the foot and the muscle loops. I also discuss heel spurs, for which I am interested in the origin, risk factors, diagnosis and prevention. Finally, I describe a selection of methods that may be effective in the treatment of heel spurs. My research population consisted of three patients diagnosed with heel spurs who I met with for twelve weeks. The research was conducted through the development of case reports which included a history taken, an initial kinesiological analysis, a description of nine therapies and an exit kinesiological analysis. Based on the data collected, a booklet was created with exercises suitable for the treatment of heel spurs. The first aim of my bachelor thesis was to describe the problem of heel spurs and its most common treatments from the available literature sources. The second aim was to find physiotherapy options for heel spurs. The research showed that regular practice of my chosen methods and exercises is beneficial for the treatment of heel spurs. Patients reported that at the end of the research, the pain associated with heel spurs was relieved. Their posture and gait stereotype improved, instability in the foot and hip joint disappeared and the functionality of deep stabilization system of the spine improved. This bachelor thesis can be used as study material for physiotherapy students, as teaching material, but it can also be beneficial for lay people who would like to learn more about heel spurs. The booklet entitled "Exercises suitable for the treatment of heel spurs" was created to help people with heel spurs.

Occurrence of hip and elbow dysplasia in the Belgian Shepherd Malinois
ZUBCOVÁ, Denisa
Dysplasia of the hip and elbow joints is primarily a hereditary disease, but the ex-tent of the finding is also influenced by the external environment. The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to evaluate the occurrence of dysplasia of the hip and elbow joints, applied preventive measures and used medication, using a questionnaire sur-vey among breeders of Belgian Malinois. A total of 103 dogs were evaluated, of which 80% were from the working line, 12% from the exterior line and 8% from a combination of both lines. The disease of dysplasia was detected in five individuals, of which 60% were males, mainly in adults, or senior age. As a preventive measure, owners use a balanced diet and adequate exercise for puppies. Currently, the owners use joint nutrition and perform physiotherapy as prevention. A combination of phy-siotherapy and joint nutrition is used for treatment. Four dogs with dysplasia were from the working line, one dog from the combined line. Although no individual with dysplasia from the exterior line was detected, due to the small number of included individuals, the influence of the line cannot be reli-ably assessed.
Midwife Care for Woman with Endometriosis
DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Nikola
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of midwife care for a woman with endometriosis. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is mainly focused on the endometriosis disease. The theoretical part describes the definition of endometriosis, its causes, diagnosis, manifestations, treatment options and midwife care. For the practical part, two objectives were chosen. The first aim was to find out how women with endometriosis perceive midwife care. The second aim of the thesis was in turn to find out how midwives perceive the whole issue of this disease. The bachelor thesis had three research questions. The first research question focused on how women with endometriosis perceive midwives' care. The second research question explored how the lifestyle of women with the condition has changed. The third research question looked at how midwives perceived the issue of endometriosis. The aforementioned objectives were achieved through a qualitative research investigation in the form of semi-structured anonymous interviews. Data collection for the research inquiry took place from January to March 2023. In the practical part, two research sets were chosen. The first research set consisted of six midwives who encountered women who had been diagnosed with endometriosis during their practice. To preserve their anonymity, the midwives were referred to as PA1 to PA6. The second research group consisted of eight women with endometriosis who were referred to as Ž1 to Ž8 in the thesis. The data collected was transcribed and then further analyzed using text coloring. Main categories and sub-categories were established for data analysis, these are further described in the research section of the thesis. The first research set consists of two main categories and four subcategories. Two main categories and six subcategories were obtained from the informants' statements of the second research set.
The issue of prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers among the geriatric patients
BERNATÍKOVÁ, Andrea
Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers among the geriatric patients. Aims of the thesis: Find out which interventions nurses are practicing to prevent pressure ulcers among the geriatric patients. Explore the nurses' experience in treating pressure ulcers among the geriatric patients. Methodology and research set: To achieve the objectives, research questions were created. What are the interventions used to prevent pressure ulcers among the geriatric patients? What is the experience of nurses in treating pressure ulcers in the selected institutes? The empirical part of this bachelor´s thesis was created using a qualitative research method. The data was collected using semi-structured interviews which were conducted with nurses at selected departments of three hospitals in the South Bohemian Region. The research sample "nurses" consists of 15 nurses in total, each with a minimal experience of 3 years. The interviews were complemented by a long-term direct, participant observation involving 5 nurses from one of the three South Bohemian hospitals in the selected department. The data obtained were processed using the pen and paper interviewing method (PAPI). Open coding was used and the data were then sorted into eight categories and 15 subcategories. Results: The results of the survey showed that the nurses encounter the issue of pressure ulcers among the geriatric patients almost on daily basis. Nurses were able to list the interventions used in the prevention of pressure ulcers among the geriatric patients. Our investigation revealed that some nurses did not take the same action in practice when compared to their statements and described their practices in treating pressure ulcers among geriatric patients only in theory. They are knowledgeable about treating pressure ulcers patients but in practice they do not abide by certain principles. These include the use of protective equipment during bandaging, adherence to indications, communication with the patient, monitoring the patient's general condition, maintaining sterility, supervision and care of the area around pressure ulcers. Recommendations for practice: We recommend the inclusion of more courses about the topic of pressure ulcers in nurse education as it is essential to have sufficient information and regular education to provide quality care. We also recommend that in addition to theoretical knowledge nurses should be given practical training in the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers.
CMP (STROKE) - ALGORITHM OF EXAMINATION METHODS
MACKOVÁ, Pavlína
The bachelor thesis on CMP (stroke) - algorithm of examination methods deals with the disease of stroke, its definition, methods of examination, possible treatment and students' knowledge about this disease. The main objective of this study was to learn about the algorithm of examination methods in stroke and to find out the awareness of the respondents about this topic. The research question was: What is the awareness of the respondents about the process of examination and diagnosis of CMP? The thesis is divided into a theoretical section and a practical section. The first part focuses on the current state. Here the vascular supply to the brain, stroke, algorithm of examination methods and treatment of stroke are covered. Overall, the thesis is divided into six main chapters. The practical part deals with the questionnaire survey. The research purpose of this thesis was fulfilled by means of a questionnaire survey among Radiology Assisting students and Public Protection students with a focus on CBRNE. The questionnaire developed was the same for both groups of students. It was a standardized questionnaire with a choice of one answer each time. The resulting answers were then evaluated in clear graphs. The results of the conducted survey can offer us students' perspectives on anatomical knowledge of the brain, basic information about stroke, selected types of stroke examinations and stroke treatment. In addition, results from Radiology Assisting students and results from Public Protection students with a CBRNE focus can be compared to each other. The results can show us where students make the most mistakes and what information they know instead. Thus, the work can serve as a study material for students of all medical disciplines.

New methods of in vivo monitoring and management of colonic anastomoses leak in experimental study
Kalvach, Jaroslav ; Pohnán, Radek (advisor) ; Kala, Zdeněk (referee) ; Klos, Dušan (referee)
The primary aim of the project was to assess two different minimally invasive techniques (Transanal minimally invasive surgical approach - TAMIS and endoscopic closure) in the treatment of colorectal anastomosis dehiscence on an experimental model. The secondary aim was to evaluate microdialysis (MD), and confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE) as novel methods potentially suitable for postoperative monitoring of colo-rectal anastomosis. In the first step, large animal model of dehiscent colo-rectal anastomosis was developed. Two novel techniques of dehiscence closure were then compared with conventional surgical repair and laparotomy with anastomotic diversion. Thus 4 intervention groups and one untreated control group were included. Transanal repair using TAMIS and endoscopic closure were technically feasible with high healing rate. Both techniques reduced the incidence of intra- abdominal septic complications compared to control. With regards to secondary aim, colorectal anastomosis was monitored using MD and CLE before and after the induction of ischaemia. Moreover, intramural and serosal positioning of MD sensors were compared. Both methods revealed hypoperfusion of anastomosis promptly and were proven as suitable for early detection of impaired healing. Based on the results of this project, a...
Insulin pump Therapy compared to Insulin Pen Injections in Pregnant Women with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus
Cvejnová, Michaela ; Anderlová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Krejčí, Hana (referee)
Pregnancy in women suffering from type 1 diabetes mellitus is associated with various complications and risks for both the mother and the baby both during pregnancy as well as during the delivery and in the postpartum period. For this reason, it is essential to ensure proper treatment and compensation of the disease. Proper diabetes compensation and treatment of any associated diseases before and during pregnancy is the basis for a successful pregnancy. If possible, pregnancy should be planned to coincide with a period of the best possible diabetes compensation. Treatment of diabetes in pregnancy includes lifestyle modification (diabetic diet and exercise), regular self-monitoring of glycaemia and insulin therapy with insulin pens or an insulin pump. The subject of the thesis is type 1 diabetes mellitus in pregnancy. The aim was to compare the outcomes of treatment with insulin pens vs insulin pump with regard to diabetes compensation, course of pregnancy and delivery and, lastly, foetal complications. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes current knowledge about type 1 diabetes mellitus in pregnancy. The practical part compares the treatment with insulin pens vs insulin pump. The results are presented in form of statistical analysis of data in women treated with insulin pens or insulin...
