Ankle Stabilization of Hurdle Athletes as a Prevention of Injury
FAROVÁ, Michaela
This thesis is about Ankle Stabilization of Hurdle Athletes as a Prevention of Injury which are typical for this discipline. The aim of this work is to create an exercise and physiotherapy protocol focused on stabilization of ankle joint in purppose to prevent the most common injuries of hurdle athletes and comparing the stability of rebound and non-rebound lower limb. In the first part of the thesis, I present theoretical knowledge that provides the basis for the research part. This part summarizes general information about anatomy, postural stability, terminology associated with the posture and stabilization, the function of the ankle joint and the foot, the most common injuries of the ankle joint caused by hurdling, and the possibilities of physiotherapy interventons, which could be used to decrease a risk of causes of the mentioned injuries. In the practical part, research reports of 5 probands who have been involved in athletics for several years and in recent years they have specialized in short tracks - 60 m, 100 m and 110 m hurdles. Posturographic messuarement objectively assessing postural stability - Modified CTSIB, Stability Evaluation Test and Weight Bearing Test. One of the aims of this research is to set and implement an intervention to influence stability of the joing by influencing proprioception, muscle strength, mobilization, soft tissue treatment and othrers. and overall body posture. The results are shown as positive, when there was a reduction in the initial values Sway Velocity (deg/sec). Proband has in average lower values of Sway Velocity in five tests from seven. The same results were shown in average in one test from seven and worst results had proband in average in two from seven tests. Lower values of SV indicate an improvement in postural stability. Unfortunately the number of proband in this research was changed and the number for average values are counted with number of three probands.
Hip joint stability and injury prevention in sport
ČERVENÝ, Daniel
The aim of this thesis is to describe, how does the strengthening of stabilization hip muscles affect whole postural stability and at the same time how does it affect standing on one leg for athletes in different sport. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes information about anatomy a kinesiology of hip joint. Includes important angles measured in the age of hip joint development. Besides is described postural stability, and stability function in the various levels on human body with all the participated muscles while hip joint stabilization. In the practical part is research of three probands doing cross country skiing, athletics, and triathlon. Measurement was consisting of posturography, kinesiological analysis and by performing special tests focused on hip joint. All the patients received paper of exercises to do at home with addiction of individual exercises for patient's pathology. At the end of the therapy was compared all the information from the first and second measurement and done conclusion. The resulting effect was positive, because in most patients was improvement of secondary performing test measuring stability, placement of COG and lateral stability of hip joint. Another result was subjective evaluation in the way of dialogue. Patients evaluated the therapy as a positive for them and wanted to continue in cooperation.
Possibilities of influencing postural stability in sports training of judokas
VACOVÁ, Anna
This thesis deals with postural stability in the sports training of judokas and the possible ways by which it can be influenced. The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to include a kinesiotherapy intervention using elements for improving postural stability in the sports training of judokas and to evaluate its effectiveness, while another aim was to measure postural stability of standing on one lower limb. The theoretical part summarizes information about the postural system, postural functions, central motor control, judo and describes the methods that inspired the exercise unit. In the practical part, there are case studies of four probands from the sports club TJ Sokol Centropen Dačice. The key part was to perform an examination on the NeuroCom posturography device. Part of the thesis is a sample of selected elements that were used during the research. The results of the examination show that these young judokas have faulty posture and muscle shortening, as well as poor postural functions and insufficient stabilizing function of the lower limb. When comparing the entrance and exit examination, which followed the end of the three-month research, there was no significant difference. However, there was an improvement in certain aspects, which may be related to the inclusion of the given elements. This work could serve as educational material for judo coaches and an inspiration for creating a training plan.
The influence of postural stability changes on respiratory muscle strength in an adult with a functional disorder of the musculosceletal system
ŠIGUTOVÁ, Anežka
The bachelor thesis deals with the study of the effect of changes in postural stability on the strength of respiratory muscles in adults with a functional disorder of the musculoskeletal system. This work consists of two parts. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis is first devoted to breathing, its control, stereotype of breathing and respiratory muscles. A large part is also devoted to the diaphragm, which has not only respiratory but also postural function and its relationship to posture. Subsequently, it deals with the definition and ontogenesis of posture and its significance, postural stability, stabilization and reactivity. Furthermore, the deep stabilization system and its components are described. The last part deals with the issue of functional disorders and the most commonly used methods of therapy of functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system. The practical part of the work is a form of qualitative research and consists of three case studies. All subjects are women aged 21 to 23 years. I was the first to perform an initial examination, where I mainly examined the quality of postural stability and measured the strength of the respiratory muscles using a triflow spirometer. A total of six meetings were held with each patient. At the last, an exit examination was performed. Within the whole group, there was no significant change in the strength of the respiratory muscles when the postural stability changed, but there was a change in the examination of the respiratory stereotype and the diaphragmatic test. This bachelor thesis can serve as an inspiration for physiotherapeutic procedures in the treatment of functional disorders and the possibilities of influencing postural stability and respiratory muscles.
The possibilities of physiotherapy which improve the postural stability of seniors
NOVOTNÝ, Petr
These days, due to low natality and increasing life expectancy, we face the fact that the Czech population is getting older and older. Growing old is connected with risks of health difficulties, that have a huge impact on the quality of our lives. One of the most important health problems that elderly people have is instability causing e.g. falls. They are quite common with increasing age and they can cause lots of serious consequences. Seniors with provable symptoms should not underestimate their state of health and they should rather look up specialized care. One of the options for the prevention of impaired postural stability and subsequent falls may be physiotherapy that focuses on this issue. This diploma thesis aims to describe the possibilities of how physiotherapy can help improve postural stability with elderly people. The thesis also suggests exercises that seniors could do on their own and thanks to them elderly people could improve their postural stability. My diploma thesis consists of the theoretical and practical part. The first one contains gained pieces of knowledge of later life, growing old, postural stability, and application of physiotherapy. In the practical part, I mention six case interpretations with elderly people between 76 and 78 years. In these interpretations, which consisted of entrance and final tests, we can see the differences that appeared after stabilographic training and after following the method that I had created. I believe that this thesis could help spread awareness of impaired postural stability with elderly people. It could probably be used for the training of seniors and it could become a therapeutic methodology not just for nurses in the retirement homes but probably for the general public as well.
Changes in selected postural stability tests in hemiparetic patients after botulinum toxin application
ZEMANOVÁ, Lucie
The subject of this bachelor thesis is to compare changes in selected clinical and posturographic tests of postural stability, before and after application of botulinum toxin A to selected lower limb muscles in patients with spastic hemiparesis. The theoretical part deals with the introduction of general information related to posture, such as clinical tests of postural stability, their significance and use, as well as the issue of falls. The next part concerns spastic paresis, its origin, causes, consequences and also clinical scales that evaluate spasticity. The last theoretical part summarize the treatment options of spastic paresis. The practical part describes in detail the kinesiological analyzes of patients and the results of clinical and posturographic tests. Functional Reach Test, Timed Up and Go and Mini BESTest were selected from the clinical trials. Within the posturography, the Weight Bearing Squat test, Modified CTSIB and Limits of Stability were selected. The overall results of this research were not entirely clear, as the individual tests focus on different aspects of postural stability. Some tests were better after botulinum toxin application and some of them before botulinum toxin application. However, impairment of postural stability was in relation to the hemiparetic half of the body. Research has also shown that vision is a key aspect of postural stability in hemiparetic patients. This research could serve as inspiration in the treatment of postural stability not only in hemiparetics, but also in stability disorders in general.
