Procházka, Václav ; Čajka, Radek (advisor)
The goal of this master thesis is to analyse the potential of LNG for the Central European region with the emphasis on the strategic role of LNG imports in strengthening the energy security of the region and its possible role in replacing the traditional fuels in the transport sector of the Visegrad Group countries. The increasing availability of LNG, together with the predictions of its rapidly growing global supply in the following years, offers a window of opportunity for the Central European states. Particularly when it comes to their energy security, as the growing access to LNG supplies translates into a growing competition for the existing pipeline supplies from Russia. Furthermore, the thesis also focuses on the potential of LNG as an alternative fuel in the inland waterway and heavy duty road transportation of the Visegrad Group countries and the steps that these countries take to integrate LNG fuel in their transport sector.
Analysis of the pension system and its comparison between the Czech Republic and other Visegrad Group countries in the period 2004 - 2016
Kissová, Adriana ; Zeman, Martin (advisor) ; Křeček, Štěpán (referee)
Countries of the Visegrad Group implemented a number of parametric and systemic reforms of pension systems between 2004 and 2016. The second pillar of the pension system was abolished in 2016 in the Czech Republic and remaining second pillars were considerably reduced. Not only for these reforms are pension pillars different in these countries. The aim of this thesis is to analyse pension systems of the Visegrad Group countries and to compare the differences between replacement rates by country. The comparison shows that replacement rates are different across selected countries. As the wage increases, the net replacement rate is decreasing for Czech, Slovak and Polish citizens. In the case of Hungary, this claim is not valid. The lowest replacement rates of above-average wages are in the Czech Republic, so it is desirable to support alternative ways of supplementary retirement savings. Based on the findings of the thesis economic and political recommendations are proposed for political elites of these nations.

The analysis of economic relations focuses on two key dimensions: trade relations and direct investment. The government's policy of supporting the investment activities both in Germany and C.E. countries is also taken into account. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first chapter intends to analyze the integration process of the C.E. countries in the '90s and its influence on the dynamic development of the economic cooperation between Germany and Visegrád Group. The second section deals with the theoretical aspects of international trade and foreign direct investment. This part intends to provide comparative criteria that will help in answering...

The topic is limited to 2015 in terms of time. Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, that is to say, were prominent opponents of the refugee relocation plan as one of the proposed and finally adopted solutions to the so-called refugee crisis in the EU. The aim of this thesis is to answer the question whether the states attitudes on sharing the refugee burden undergone some evolution and whether publicly declared reasons for these attitudes correspond to the empirical situation. For this purpose is provided a reconstruction of the most significant milestones of adoption of the relocation mechanism, including the attitudes and publicly declared reasons of the Visegrad states, which are then analyzed in terms of the empirical situation. The outcome of the thesis is that states of the Visegrad Group held integrated negative attitude consistently during 2015 with only one exception - Poland agreement with the proposal submitted to the European Council on 22 September - and most of the reasons given for this negative attitude are really based on the empirical situation, though always only in certain aspects of the...
