Sensory integration approach in paediatrics
Kordíková, Eliška ; Hyttichová, Zdenka (advisor) ; Zounková, Irena (referee)
The thesis describes the approach of sensory integration of Jean Ayres, summarizes a basic neuroanatomy knowledge related to this approach and deals with sensory processing disorder, their diagnosis and therapy. There is a case study in the thesis containing an examination, assessment and the suggestion of therapy according to the approach of sensory integration theory. The sensory processing disorders are functional disorders of perception, filtering and organizing of stimulus coming from sensory systems. On this basis the sensory modulation processing and sensory discrimination disorder in different sensory system occur or sensory - based motor disorder can occur too. Sensory processing disorders may occur simultaneously with another diagnosis, for example the Down syndrom, syndrom ADHD. We create diagnosis from history, clinical observation and tests and from standardized tests. The therapy uses a number of different tools and special equipped rooms to provide adequate sensory stimulation, especially for vestibular, touch and proprioception. The approach of sensory integration is a part of integrated look at an individual and his problems and it is a part of the whole rehabilitation too.
Kazuistika fyzioterapeutické péče o pacienta s plastikou předního zkříženého vazu
Tsaparegas, Ilias Antonios ; Jalovcová, Miroslava (advisor) ; Kozderková, Romana (referee)
Title: Rehabilitation after Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Reconstruction Nazev: Kazuistika fyzioterapeuticke pece o pacienta s plastikou predniho zkrizeneho Author: Ilias Tsaparegas Aim: In this thesis, a therapeutic approach of ACL Reconstruction due to tendon rapture will be described and a complete therapeutic record of a patient after ACL Reconstruction is demonstrated. Methods: The rehabilitation included 6 days of therapy. The main points of the state of the patient were light pain while walking, muscle weakness and incoordination, joint play restrictions and restriction of ROM of joints on the lower extremities. The first and last sessions with the patient included the Kinesiologic evaluation. Therapy and the methods which were used included joint play, strengthening exercises without and with the use of tools (like over-ball, Theraband, various balance boards, Posturomed platform, stationary bicycle, Stairmaster, soft pads), Isometric and Isotonic exercises, Post Isometric Relaxation (PIR), Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Fascilitation (PNF) techniques and Sensorimotor training. Results: After 6 therapeutic units with the patient, she was able to walk with increased confidence and pain free at the knee joint. Mobilization of the restricted joint movements was successful and released the...
Influence of whole body vibration training on postural stability in selected sporting population
Strachotová, Hana ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Zahálka, František (referee)
Title: Influence of whole body vibration training on postural stability in selected sporting population Objectives: The aim of this study is to compare the influence of whole body vibration training on the stability of the human body and assessing the possibility of using this training method to improve postural stability in selected sporting population. Methods: 15 mainly beach volleyball players (athletes) were randomly assigned into two groups. Experimental group (n 8) in addition to their own training practiced twice a week on the Power Plate, while the control group (n 7) to continue the current practice of beach volleyball. The experimental group participated in a total of twelve units during the six-week exercise intervention. We reviewed the standard deviation and average values of COP displacements in the anteroposterior, mediolateral and overall direction of the COP path. For this purpose, we used pressure platform Footscan. Results: The results indicate a clear trend to improve postural stability at the beach volleyball player after a six-week intervention, whole body vibration training. Improvement was most noticeable in tests Flamengo (standing on one leg), in which the total COP path decreased for all probands at the right lower extremity and in six of the eight probands in the left...
Assessing the influence of constitutional hypermobility on postural stability
Zadražilová, Tereza ; Smékal, David (advisor) ; Čakrt, Ondřej (referee)
The thesis "Judging the influence of constitutional hypermobility on postural stability" focuses on the problem of constitutional hypermobility (CH) and the influence of joint instability on stability mechanisms. The aim of the research was to find out whether there is a difference in stability mechanisms with tested subjects with CH and without it. Furthermore, the research focuses on the influence of mobility techniques on postural stability by the means of chosen tests carried out on Balance Master® System platform. The tested sample includes 14 women aged from 20 to 28, 7 women with constitutional hypermobility and 7 women as a control group. 6 tests were chosen for the measurement on Balance Master® platform. 2 static tests: modified Clinical Test of Sensory Interaction on Balance (mCTSIB), Unilateral Stance (US), and 4 dynamic tests: Limits of Stability (LOS), Rhytmic weight shift (RWS), Step Up Over (SUO) a Forward Lunge (FL). We compared the medians of output values of individual tests. It was assumed that subjects with KH would have significantly worse test results than the control group. Furthermore, it was supposed that the mobilization processes cause stability disturbance on the basis of cancellation of compensational , thus protective block in comparison with KS. Somatestezie variability in a group of physiotherapy students
Koudelková, Alena ; Lepšíková, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Čech, Zdeněk (referee)
Dissertation "Variability of Somatesthesis in Students of Physiotherapy " deals with somatosensorical system in its theoretical part. In the practical part, sets of tests - aimed at somatesthesis function testing - are described. These tests are easy to implement and could be objectified. This pilot study was performed on a set of 29 Subjects aged 24 - 30. Selection criteria were set to physiotherapy studies and good health condition. The research ran on FN Motol physiotherapy clinics and lasted from October 2007 until January 2008. Measurements were repeated four times (in random day time), while the interval between examinations were randomly selected 1-12 days. The methodical part closely desribes measurement procedures and performance of each test. The first aim of this dissertation was to create a set of examination tests, concentrated on somatesthesis functions, which could be objectively measured. Further we set a target to find out, if sensomotorical learning effect appears by repeated measurement of same Subject and if quality of somatesthesis functions anyhow changes depending on internal environment status.
