This thesis deals with the influence of the Marshall Plan for Great Britain. The goal is to characterize the contribution of European Recovery Programme for the island state. It focuses on the development of the policy and the economy of Great Britain after the Second World War in 1945 - 1948. It reflects British-American relations during this period. It mentions the impact of the Marshall Plan from a global perspective, both economically and politically. It analyzes the economic assistance provided by Great Britain, individual negotiations about the size of assistance, the impact of the program, interim opinions of British government and directions for future development of London.
Private providers of education in India

This bachelor thesis considers education in India and primarily focuses on private educational institutions. Theoretical part introduces the issue about developing countries and foreign aid trying to eliminate poverty by education and otherwise outlines the quality of public schools and regulation of private schools in India. Following part of this bachelor thesis examines in detail the Indian society in terms of access to education and uses data and information from some Indian states. In the conclusion of this work appear detailed characteristics of private schools in India particularly in terms of their effectiveness and finally, a solution that could help to mitigate some of the difficulties faced by public schools is suggested.

Purpose of this diploma thesis is to analyze foreign aid as a stabile part of nations expenditures of all developed countries since 60's. But at the same time foreign aid not being important enough for developed countries to manage it more effectively. This diploma thesis analyses among others development of different economic approaches on this topic, financial flows of this sort since the beginning and also an analysis of foreign aid as whole as well as some of its parts. I`m also trying to find reasons why developed nations provide foreign aid and also motives for accepting it by developing nations. Also trade liberalisation is described as the only way of solving foreign aid poor effeciency.
The problems of economic development in African countries

This diploma thesis points to the barriers which impede backward African countries in economic development. It sees an imperfect institutional environment of the poor countries as a major issue. It outlines the problems on specific cases of Rwanda, Botswana and Kenya and it also suggests possible solutions for overcoming persisting poverty. The first chapter focuses on explanation of development theories and effectiveness of foreign aid. The next chapter regards economic development from the institutional point of view. Moreover, it presents the theoretical concept of property rights as the main factor of economic prosperity. The last theoretical chapter describes a role of government and its effect and effect of interest groups on the economy of particular country. The economic policy development of concrete African countries is discribed in analytical part of the thesis. In conclusion of the work the particular findings are summed up and furthemore, the certain solutions which should help to overcome big poverty in poor African countries are offered.
The Effectiveness of Foreign Aid - Public or Private Financing? (Case India)

In this bachelor work I study problems of foreign aid, especially views of private sector's utilization for development in the Third World countries. In the first part I will take into account different views of foreign aid (rather critical than positive), the next part is continuing with concrete problem of developing countries -- education. In analytic part of my work I will examine foreign aid in India, its economic situation and progression. By application of theoretic knowledge I will try to know, if the private sector of education plays greater role than public education system in India. At the conclusion I will analyze the role of government and its influence on providing education especially for poor children.
Impact of Foreign Aid on Economic Development of Ukraine

This bachelor work contains appraisal of effect of foreign aid on economic growth of Ukraine. In theoretic part are described views on economic growth, effect of institutions as one of the most important factors of economic growth. At last, importance of foreign aid is summed up also with principles and philosophy of foreign aid. Analytic part aims at case of Ukraine. It describes Ukraine's situation from economic and political point of view. Next it focuses on institutional enviroment, reasons of Ukraine's fall and economic growth. It evaluate the impact of foreign aid on growth. It depicts operation of extralegal sector on land reform and land-sale moratorium and involvement of foreign aid in Ukraine.
