Amenity migration and regional identity in the Prachatice region

This Thesis called "Amenity migration and regional identity in the Prachatice region" looks into comparing the strenght of regional identity of inhabitants and amenity migrants in the field of interest area ORP Prachatice. Amenity migration is quite new term that can be translated as "pleasure migration". This specific type of migration stems from the hum desire to live in areas with high quality environment. This usualy includes the transition of population from urban to countryside environment. For the use of this Thesis the area of interest was chosen area of ORP Prachatice that consist of three executive offices - PÚ Netolice, PÚ Prachatice and PÚ Volary. The whole area of interest offers on a quite narrow territory three different environments. The aim of this Thesis is the comparison of the level of regional identity among inhabitants in relation to the diverse environment and also the comparison of the strenght of regional identity between the group of permanent inhabitants and amenity migrants. The role of Euroregion Silva Nortica within the cross-border co-operation and the formation of regional identity

The thesis examines the impact of euroregion Silva Nortica on cross-border cooperation and regional identity. Silva Nortica as the newest Czech euroregion is located in Czech-Austrian borderland. The situation in the euroregion is analyzed through quantitative and qualitative research to offer a complex view on the issue. In context of institutional framework conditions the questionnaire survey together with guided interviews with representatives of the euroregion was analyzed. The thesis also offers possible ways of future development of the euroregion. The results show a good potential among locals to build a cross-border community. However, on the institutional level there are many problematic factors as constrains in future development of cross-border cooperation in Czech-Austrian borderland. The regional identity of the people and holidaymakers in the borderlands; Case study: Bor in theTachov region

The thesis "Regional Identity of the Residents and Holiday-makers in the Borderlands; Case Study: Bor in the Tachov Region" aims on the assessment of the regional identity of the residents and holiday-makers in the border area of the Czech Republic- Bor region, and then finding of the awareness of the solidarity of the users of the area in which they are living and which they are using for the purpose of recreation. Beside the assessment of the regional identity in the Bor region the thesis aims on comparison of the research outcomes of the chosen area with the overall outcomes of the grant project number 43/03/1491 and finding specifics through the questionnaire survey and guided dialogues, including tabular and graphical representation of the outcomes. Another aim is the assessment of the regional identity based on the promotional materials. The model area of Bor in the Tachov region is an example of the border periphery of the Czech Republic where the forming of regional identity was deeply affected by the World War II and successive settlement. Transformation of Recreational Facilities in Prague

The present thesis studies the transformation of recreational facilities of Prague. It is focused on a model area of villages, Ohrobec and Dolní Břežany, which have been long - term observed by the departement of social geography and regional development of Charles University in Prague. Although this area is a significant recreational zone, since 1990's it passes through a considerable number of changes. In this area the transformation of second home and suburbal activity occurs and changes the present landscape character. In an observed locality it has occured the tranformation of the structure of area users. The aim of the thesis is to find out how these people use this area, how do they identify themselves with the place where they live or relax and, what kind of mutual relationships they have. Due to the character of my topic, I have chosen several methods from qualitative research, the main source of information is questionnaire survey between the inhabitants and vacationers.

Cultural and Historical Potential of Peripheral Regions' Development in Czechia (Case Study Horažďovice, Kašperské Hory and Netolice Microregions)

The thesis focuses on the cultural and historical potential of the development of peripheral regions of Czechia. The case study covers three model areas - regions of municipalities with an authorised municipal office Horažďovice, Kašperské Hory and Netolice. The aim of the thesis is to accomplish a discursive analysis of the concept of the cultural and historical potential, together with related terms, and to consider feasibility of its embodiment into the context of surrounding regions development in Czechia, to identify cultural and historical potential of selected model areas and to propose possibilities of its usage. The methodology lies in the study of literature and in the research of selected areas. The cultural and historical potential is rated from the identifiable elements and their particular importance. The potential is relative to the area, number of inhabitants and the number of parts of the municipality. This Master thesis named Amenity migration and regional identity in region Prachatice follows on the previous Bachrelor's thesis Formy amenitní migrace na Prachaticku. It compares regional identity of permanent population and amenity migrants using exemplar of the Prachatice region. Amenity migration is a young term and can by easy translated like a enjoyment migration. This specific type of movement is motivated effort of people to live in a area with quality environment. Most often its movement from urban places to a rural places. For this thesis was selected area of interest ORP Prachatice, whitch consists of three administrative regions - PÚ Netolice, PÚ Volary a PÚ Prachatice. All area of interest has on a small surface three completely different natural environments. It starts with evennesses with intensive agriculture, next you can see there landscape of mountain foothills a it finished in mountain enironment with highest degree of nature protection. Part of this thesis is also comparison regional identity in reaction of soo much different types of natural environment. An Influence of the Cross-border Cooperation on the Inhabitants' Regional Identity (Case Study Euroregion Šumava)

This thesis examines the influence of the cross-border cooperation on the inhabitant's regional identity in Euroregion Šumava. Although this form of cooperation in the countries of Western Europe's long tradition in the Czech Republic formed and the first Euro-regions until the early 90 years. Such example is the Euroregion Šumava. To what extent are the residents of this Euroregion informed of its activities? It is already possible to speak of so called Euro-regional cross-border identity of the population? If so, it is possible to find the Euroregion its spatial differentiation? There are also present on the territory of Euroregion some barriers, which have a negative impact on the greater integrity? These and other questions seeking answers submitted work. To this end, it was realized the questionnaire, the main results are discussed and compared with the conclusions of other specialized publications. This thesis is focused on the perception of regional identity of inhabitants in administrative district Králíky. The thesis is divided in two parts. In the first theoretical part, literature sources on regional identity and its importance for regional development are discussed. In the second empirical part, studied region is defined, and research methods and techniques are described. In conclusion, the results of the research are presented and explained.

This diploma thesis ?Geographic-ethnographic characteristics of the region Podluží? concentrates on the territorial boundaries of the region Podluží, characteristics of the physical-geographical systems, socio-economic sphere and ethnography of the region. The theoretical part deals with the key terms that are the cornerstones of this thesis. Following practical parts are devoted to the definition of the region Podluží based on a comparison of source maps and questionnaire survey. Geographic and ethnographic characteristics serve as a source of information for didactic transformation, resulting in the production of the billboard. This billboard provides a synthesis of the characteristic features that create the original image of the region Podluží.
