Even though the root causes were different, both cases experienced similarly devastating effects that made them ask for international financial assistance. Thorough analysis of the anti-crisis governmental policies in the context of chosen macroeconomic indicators will then reveal the level of their effectiveness. Final comparative analysis of the key factors between the two countries will not only show the inadequacies in the economic behavior of these two states in the last decades and the current state of the economies, but will also enable to draw some conclusions on the future evolution of these economies as such.
