Spain: territorial differentiation and regional policy

This thesis examines the regional differentiation of Spain and the regional politics in the context of Spanish economic situation within the EU. The first chapter looks at Spain as an EU member, focusing on its profile from the perspective of economic level and growth. Included comparative analysis of the Spanish economy emphasizes the nominal and real convergence with the Eurozone based on the most influential variables. The second chapter deals with the causes and development of the Spanish regional disparity, highlighting various economic sector specializations of distinct regions, impacting employment and productivity. This chapter also touches the topic of social and information inequality. The third and final chapter is dedicated to structural and cohesive policies of Spain during the past program periods as well as the current financial perspective of 2007-2013, focusing on the tools of the EU providing regional aid. Spain within the process of fund redistribution, existing successful results as well as concrete impact on Andalucia's regional economy are also described.
Comparison of the Czech and Spanish presidency of the EU: preparation, course, results

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to compare the performance of the Czech Presidency and the Spanish Presidency. Furthermore, to evaluate the preparations, processes and results of both countries, while taking into account factors that could have affected the performance of this function by these two states. The thesis is divided into four parts; The first is more interpretative and describes the European institutions affecting the performance of the Presidency, the historical development of Presidency and it's general characteristics. The second and third sections comprise of the preparations and processes of the Spanish and Czech Presidency. The Fourth part contains comparisons and analysis where both states have been compared through a general aspect at first, then followed by comparisons in their processes and results. The work includes the résumé in Spanish as well as a Spanish-Czech glossary.
New Europe and New Europeans: The Impacts of Muslim and Asian Immigration on the Societal Security of the Big Western European Countries

Conflicts between majority societies and culturally different immigrants represent one of the key problems that today's Europe has to face. This bachelor thesis tries to analyze the subject from the societal security viewpoint in the context of the big Western European countries -- United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain and Germany. Knowledge from different disciplines is used to represent immigrants' identities and their relations with the host society in each of the countries. The last chapter is then devoted to a comparison of the societal security patterns in Western Europe; also, the main short- and long-term prognoses of the Muslim and Asian immigrations' impacts on societal security are presented and the basic starting points for a more effective integration process are defined.
Current changes in the business environment in selected countries of euro area

This thesis aims to analyze current business environment and its development in three countries of euro area (Greece, Spain and Portugal) during the last five years and reflecting the current financial crisis. The first section analyses the conditions for development and the ways the financial crisis spread to euro area. It also demonstrates its effects on macroeconomic indicators. The next part defines the business environment from the point of view of the World Bank, The Heritage Foundation, IMD and The World Economic Forum. It also reflects the opinion of European Commission on the rate of incorporating the European directives regarding the internal market. The third part analyzes the current business environment and its development according to each definition.
The Status of Ethnic Minorities: the case of Spain

The subject of this thesis is the status of ethnic minorities in Spain. The goal is to determine whether the status of minorities in Spain is effective for this country. This bachelor thesis consists of three parts - the definition of minority group, historical consequences and description of the Spanish constitution. In the first part there is a definition of problems of national minorities. The second part deals with the analysis of historical context to the status of national minorities in Spain. The last part includes the description of the Spanish Constitution.
Impact of cultural standards on managerial skills

The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to characterize the influence and impact of Czech culture on Spanish culture in selected areas with regards to the managerial skills of the Spanish managers working for international companies in the Czech Republic. The idea of this bachelor thesis is to present Czech and Spanish culture from some perspectives and to confront them in praxis in order to show what impacts has and in what range influences Czech culture managerial skills of Spanish managers in the Czech Republic. The goal of this thesis is also to find out and define, in what areas regarding the managerial position the Spanish manager has changed his behavior and managerial style and adapt to the environment and in what areas he kept his own culture. I will define these aspects from Spanish perspective and also from Czech point of view.
The regulation of accounting and business conditions in Spain

This Thesis brings closer the Kingdom of Spain, which offers a wide range of opportunities and high-quality conditions for life and business. It focuses on the potential Czech businessman, who is considering entry into this country. Therefore, it sporadically contains comments on the situation in the Czech Republic. Although only marginally, the Thesis outlines from the beginning also other specifics according to Spain as important phone numbers, opening hours and a brief geographical overview of the Kingdom. Another section is devoted to the business sector in accordance with structure of economic sectors, types of business entities and their establishment. It also briefly represents taxation connected with entrepreneurial activity. The most significant and most important part is oriented on the Spanish accountancy, which is primarily based on Spanish legislation. Means of the Commercial Code and royal decrees defines accounting of larger companies, shortly, accounting of subjects marked as PYMES. Another part of Thesis is devoted to auditing -- inseparable part of book-keeping area. Before the concluding words is located a page containing opinions of people doing business in Spain and a summary of the current situation in the country for entrepreneurs.
The evolution of Spanish Real Estate Market

This work describes the evolution of Spanish Real Estate Market between the years 2000 and 2010. The construction sector contributed significantly on the GDP, it created new jobs and it was even called the engine of whole Spanish economy. Initially, the work focuses on main causes of the market growth. Further, there is an analysis of the evolution of interest rates which partially explains the evolution of mortgage market. Following part concerns construction itself and the growth of the prices on this market. The conclusion describes the formation of the speculative bubble on Spanish Real Estate Market and the situation emerged after its explosion.
Cultural standards of Spain

The thesis deals with the aspects of the Spanish culture. The theoretical part treats, except the spanish culture particularly, main cultures of the world generally and explanation of cultural dimensions by G. Hofstede. The aim of the practical part is to compare the perception of the spanish culture by Czech people (who have spent certain time either working or studying in Spain) and by Spaniards themselves. The practical part contains a comparison of the facts of the hofstede cultural dimensions and the results of a survey carried out by a conducted questionnaire.
