Manclová, Miroslava ; Fišer, Jiří (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Ladislav (advisor)
The theme of the project was to create a new gallery of modern art. The gallery will be used by the residents of all age groups from Brno and its surroundings. The land is located on the territory of Brno-Kraví hora. It is delimited by the street Kraví hora, adjacent park with astronomical observatory and planetarium and the allotments. The plot is in the sloping terrain and is currently located with 21 objects serving business entities. The plot is largely surrounded by the greenery of the gardens and adjacent park. The nearest building is an observatory and planetarium. In the vicinity there is also a sports centre and swimming pool. In its proposal, I therefore created another park in which the objects of gallery are integrated and which continuously builds on an already existing park. The Gallery is divided into three buildings, which are connected by an underground communication object. It is also designe dan object with a café and a lecture hall and object with the studios. In the northern corner of the plot is designed parking place, arrival is secured after the street Kraví hora. In the south-western boundary of the plot is terraced slope adapted for leisure activities. My intention was to design a smaller amounts, which may be easier to integrate into a park environment. Objects have only one floor. Gallery objects have another underground floor, which is to ensure the communication between them. Plans have a simple trapezoid shape, which is expanding away from the center of the square, around which are arranged. Roofs are standard with a different slant. Object with the studios has a different height levels.
Mikulášek Square Brno
Kociánová, Lenka ; Fišer, Jiří (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Ladislav (advisor)
The goal of this project is to design Mikulášek Square in Brno - Starý Lískovec as a place of social activities, cultural events and active relaxation in connection with a park and green vegetation. The square is a place of social contact, place of everyday life and cultural events, public, living and generally a busy place. The park is more restful, green and natural place. The park is a green framework of social interaction and rest in the urban surroundings. However, both have something in common. They are the places made artificially for people, the places of intensive life. Without relevant background they are unusable, they have no sense and they are abandoned. The purpose of new Mikulášek Square in Brno - Starý Lískovec was to design a new place as a transitional zone from the rush of public transport to the green park. The square should be a peaceful pedestrian zone with greenery supplemented by the public park with a water area, a café and an active park with multipurpose areas for games and sport activities such as pétanque field and a field for dogs. It is the comprehensive solution for Mikulášek Square with respect for local residents in surrounding blocks of flats, seniors in home for the elderly and children who have no place for their games. The whole area is fully wheelchair accessible. In this part only the sport centre a passageway are described and solved in details.

Brno - damlake
Švantnerová, Jana ; Žalmanová,, Petra (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor) ; Pěnčík, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with a project for a wharf in Brno-Bystrc on the Brno Dam. The space comprises a pier and single-story buildings, specifically, a restaurant, which is open year-round and a building which provides services for visitors: refreshments, public toilets, ticket sales, and facilities for employees. All elements, including access roads and paved areas, are integrated into a U-shaped area which opens onto the dam lake. A substantial difference in height between the access road and the marina allows visitors to enjoy the scenic view as they use the walkway connecting the roofs of the buildings. The same height difference also allows the staircase to function as seating for viewers of seasonal activities taking place on the square below. The urban planning and architectural design take into account the year-round popularity of the area. Both the outer and inner spaces attempt to comply with the requirements that are placed on this space in the organization of social activities such as viewing fireworks or public appearances. The design is also sensitive to visitors of all ages, tourists, cyclists, passengers, or in the winter season, skaters and skiers.
Methodology for Evaluation of Main Squares of Small Towns for the Needs of Landscape Architecture and Urban Development
Ambrožová, Zuzana
The methodology represents a method for evaluating main squares for the purpose of comparison, problem analysis and identification of their value and phenomena. It provides guidelines for urban, architectural and landscape design applicable in future projects. The methodology includes commented graphic outputs and a form for field survey data that reflect in the text description, graphic representation and evaluation of qualitative traits on a five-point scale. The comprehensive typology of main squares comes with general principles for development, and examples of selected model objects on which the approach was tested. A clear methodology has a potential of becoming a database file as part of information systems and preliminary project preparation in urban planning.

Trundová, Barbora
This master thesis deals with the creation of chosen urban spaces with a specific example showing a model object square in the town Tišnov. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and practical part. The content specifically reviews the theme of urban spaces within the town. The thesis deals first with basic terms, followed by historical development of the town with an input focus on the public spaces, contemporary issues, trends, and reviews in urban space solutions. Finally, the literature critically evaluates the chosen examples of completing central urban spaces of the small cities. The chosen squares in the Czech Republic and abroad were the inspiration for my design for the practical part, there the basis is determined, and the last chapter reviews the approach for the architectural study. The practical part of the master thesis contains a complete analysis, including broader relations of the subject. The problematic drawings and design concept was based on the research and analysis. The area of the model object takes part in central Tišnov, and the architectural study deals with the area complexly in parts. The area is divided into 5 parts for better understanding - 28th October Square, street toward the Square od Peace, Square of Peace, Komensky's Square, and the area near The St. Wenceslav Square. The aim of the study was to create a pleasant, safe, and high quality designed living area for its inhabitants and visitors.
