Nutrition on soccer
Kocourek, Lukáš ; Šteffl, Michal (advisor) ; Kinkorová, Ivana (referee)
Title: Nutrition in soccer Objectives: The main aim of this study was to gather available information about nutrition in soccer. Another goal was to create a daily diet and to describe how to create an individual daily diet for a soccer player. Methods: This bachelor thesis was carried out as a review. For gathering the relevant information connected with the topic, scientific and popular educational literatures were used. Results: A brief overview of the possibilities of nutrition in soccer with a model daily diet and a guide on how to create this diet individually were presented. Conclusion: Currently, there is probably no universal diet plan that would work ideally for all players. However, special care should be taken of the individual approach and, above all; the individual health status should be considered. Keywords: sports nutrition, daily diet, individual approach

Pourová, Veronika ; Vilikus, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Petráková Doležalová, Radka (referee)
The topic of my master thesis is monitoring of carbohydrate intake in sportsmen's diet. In the thesis, intake of carbohydrates as well as other macronutrients is monitored in order to evaluate, if athletes prefer other energy sources to carbohydrates and if their total energy intake is sufficient. If athletes prefer easily digestible carbohydrates or if they follow recommendation for healthy diet and increase their intake of whole foods, legumes, fruits and vegetables can be evaluated by monitoring fiber and sugar intake. All the monitored data are compared with non-athletes in order to see, in which field their diets vary. In the theoretical part, principles of sports nutrition are defined, basics of population recommendations are mentioned and methods of nutritional assessment and energy expenditure estimation are explained. In the practical part, five-day food-diaries of athletes and non-athletes are evaluated by NutriPro Expert software. Five-day physical activity diaries recorded during the same days are evaluated by using the Compendium of Physical Activities. All the studied values (energy intake, energy expenditure, carbohydrate, fat, protein, sugar, fiber and alcohol intake) were compared to recommended values for athletes and non- athletes and further compared among these two groups. The...
Nutritional assessment of extraleague handball players
Laštovička, Petr ; Vilikus, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Matějů, Jarmila (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on nutritional assessment of extraleague handball players. The aim is to describe the importance of nutrition in sport and compare groups of professional athletes with amateurs. The thesis is divided into 2 parts. The theoretical part deals mainly with the importance of individual nutrients, the drinking regime, handball physiology and related energy metabolism. The practical part evaluates the results of the questionnaire and the four-day nutritional intake. The research team consisted of 20 extraleague handball players and 15 unprofessional athletes from the age of 18 to 29. The evaluation of the nutritional intake indicated insufficient energy intake, mainly in the form of carbohydrates. Differences were also found between two groups, when extraleague handball players compensate insufficient intake of carbohydrate by increased protein consumption, but unprofessional athletes have increased fat intake. Excessive intake of proteins and fats of animal origin was detected, which is also due to the fact that 85 % of the extraleague handball players did never consult their nutritional intake with a nutritionist. Key words: sports nutrition, handball, nutritional intake, energy intake, drinking regime

Kaucká, Petra ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Semerád, Miroslav (referee)
Title: Hobby runners' nutrition during and after a long-distance performance Objectives: The main aim of the thesis was to find out hobby runners' nutritional strategies during and after long-distance performance. Then to examine their diet from qualitative and quantitative view of points. By labratory testing find out maximal functional parameters and body composition. Use of mouth rinse of carbohydrate solution during 60 minutes running performance. Methods: There were used biomedical measurements as body composition, bioelectrical impedance, labotory spiroergometric measuring by maximal stress testing. Field trials using sporttesters and mouth rinse of carbohydrate solution during 60 min running performance. Also during the 60 min running performance there was use of Borg's RPE scale to evaluate subjective perceived exertion. Another methods were interview with open questions and online survey. Results: Hobby runners'nutrition during and after long- distance performance is not in agreement with sports nutrition requirements, especially with requirements to maximalize the performance. Nutritional strategies don't meet the conditions to optimalize body regeneration and fullfilling energy substrates. The positive effect of 8% carbohydrate solution mouth rinse on 60 min running performance was...
Nutritional indicators of competitive and profesional cross-country skiers
Wűrzová, Anna ; Vilikus, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Tuka, Vladimír (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on nutrition indicators for competitive and profesional cross-country skiers. The main aim of the thesis is to describe the importance of the sports nutrition for endurance athletes and to compare different diets for two differently capable groups of cross-country skiers. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part comprises information about the physiology of cross-country skiing, in particular the important function of metabolism and morphological characterization of the cross-country skier. Furthermore, it describes specific requirements of the endurance athlete on a diet, individual macronutrients and micronutrients and describes proper diet supplements for endurance sport. The practical part summarizes results received on the basis of evaluation of the questionnaires about the characterization of the training and respondent's four-days-menus. The research data collection involved eight profesional and eight competitive cross-country skiers from the age 20 to 32. It was established that the profesional cross-country skiers have higher training capacity and therefore higher expenditure of energy than competitive cross- country skiers. The sportsmen's menu evaluation referred to the diet differences between both groups. The recommended energy intake...
Ballroom dance as a leisure activity
Ježková, Martina ; Dvořáčková, Hana (advisor) ; Leontovyčová, Jana (referee)
Annotation: This thesis aims to reveal to the general public, what dance is in the eyes of professional dancers, and to recommend ballroom dancing as one of the very good ways to meaningfully use their free time. The aim is to find out how pupils and students under 20 years of age spend their free time and how they perceive dance as a leisure activity. This work is divided into theoretical and empirical part. In the theoretical part, I explain the concept of free time and the importance of meaningful use of it. Further, I detail the history of dance, which shows why people started to dance and what it yields to them. The theoretical part also includes information about the dance sport, institutions providing dance training, sports nutrition, and also the fact that dance can help and heal. The empirical part is devoted to questionnaires measuring how much of their free time children spend on dance activities, and guided interviews with professional dancers who let us peek into their dance world. These dancers will answer the questions: why dancing became their way of life, what positives and negatives it brings, what is so beautiful and liberating about the dance, and also why a place called Blackpool is often mentioned in the dance environment.
Creatine and Carnitine Use in Sport
