Title The efficiency of Chondroitin sulphate, Glucosamine and other supplements of joint nutrition to the articular and musculoskeletal system in the world literature The aim of the work The aim of thesis is to assess the efficacy of glucosamine, chondroitin sulphate, hyaluronic acid and diacerein to the structure of joints with joint disease, especially osteoarthritis, according to world literature. Methodology Bachelor thesis is conceived as review of the world literature on the topic. The main method of the work was compilation meta-analysis based on an analysis of numerous quality publications and world scientific literature focused on the topic of bachelor thesis. Electronic databases EBSCO and PubMed and Internet search engine Google Scholar were used as resources for search. Results It found several high-quality studies concerning the influence of drugs of SYSADOA group on the structure of joints. Generally, drugs of this group may have some influence not only to symptoms accompanying osteoarthritis, but also the structure of joint tissues. However, some studies refute this claim. The influence of carnosine and hydroxymethylbutyrate on sports performance in the world literature.

Title The influence of carnosine and hydroxymethylbutyrate on sport's performance in the world literature The aim of the work The aim of this bachelor thesis is to clarify influence of carnosine and hydroxymethylbutyrate (HMB) on sport's performance in the world literature. Methodology Presented thesis is mainly a literature review of the above topic. The data collection was done by meta-analysis of reliable quantitative and qualitative journals and studies where Carnosine and HMB in sports are concerned. Electronic databases PubMed and EBSCO were the main sources of the research. Results Meta-analysis shows, that β-alanine supplementation influences concentrations of muscle carnosine, but it rather not shows its influence on better sport's performance caused by higher level of muscle carnosine. Hence, it is necessary to conduct a few more studies to clarify influence of carnosine supplementation on sport's performance. Furthermore, the thesis proves that supplementation of HMB together with intensive training program has an efficient impact on the sport performance and that HMB protects muscles damage due to severe training.
Luxury lifestyle newspaper supplements in the Czech republic

The diploma thesis observes the phenomenon of Czech journal attachements of luxury character in particular supplements ZEN, City Life, Esprit and Proč ne?! These are published together with daily press E15, MF Dnes, Lidové Noviny a Hospodářské noviny. In the theoretical part is first outlined the development of lifestyle magazines and classical daily attachments, because examined supplements are kind of combination of both these media products. The next chapter deals with the media content from the political as well as economical communication, which covertly affects media by means of advertising and public relations and thus shape public opinion according to their own interests. In the end the theoretical part focuses also on definition of advertisement and public relations. The goal of the practical part is to research using the semiotic analysis how the ideology of success is presented to readers, which is in general an attribute of political as well as economical elites. Consumption of food supplements for different groups of clients fitness center

This bachelor thesis deals with the consumption of dietary supplements for different groups of fitness center clients. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the basics of nutrition, and is described by energy intake and expenditure, macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins and fats), micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) and drinks. The following chapter describes the basic supplements most commonly used in fitness. The practical part was processed using a questionnaire on social networks and in the fitness center Kentoya, Prague 10. The aim was to explore the most commonly used supplements, assessment of knowledge of the main effects of the supplements and visitors' experience with diets. The results are reported in tables and graphs and the answers on the internet and in the fitness center Kentoya are compared. The results show that almost 79 % of visitors to the fitness center take dietary supplements, the most widely used supplement is a protein drink. Approximately 67 % of visitors were during their life on some kind of diet and unfortunately the most common source of information concerning diet is the internet. Nutritional aspects and body composition in motocross

Title: Nutritional aspects and body composition in motocross Objectives: The goal of this work is monitoring nutritional habits and parameters for the assessment of body composition and somatotype for Czech junior national team in motocross and enduro. Methotds: There was used four day record of consumed food to map out nutritional habits, which was evaluted by software Nutirs. The input data of body composition were obtained by Bioimpendance InBody 230. Following were also measured selected anthropometric parameters. Results: The results of our study indicate quantitative variations in motocross riders nutrition, especially the negative energy balance and the low proportion of carbohydrates in the diet in pre-season and in the day of the race. These can be some way influenced by individual variability. The research somatotype and body composition suggests that in relation to physical abilities are motocross riders and riders Enduro the most versatile talent for sport. Nutritional habits of Czech athletes with focus on nutrition supplements use.

Title: Nutrition habits of Czech athletes with focus on nutrition supplements use. Objectives: The aim of this work is to map the eating habits and nutrition supplements use by athletes in the Czech Republic. Methods: In this work, we have used the method of public inquiry. The inquiry was distributed over many sport centres and facilities around the Czech Republic. 1373 inquiries were opened and 1064 of them returned filled in. The revision of the returned inquiries with sorting out only properly filled in ones, which provided the required information for further analysis, followed subsequently. There were 1027 inquiries from athletes from 75 cities of the Czech Republic used. 752 men and 275 women (age 7 to 54 years) from sports: athletics, basketball, football, handball, judo, swimming, taekwondo, triathlon and volleyball have participated the survey. Results: We found out, that approximately 79 % of Czech athletes do care about their nutrition and keep to the consummation of 4 to 6 meals per day. Semi - occasionally people choose the second dinner as a meal in their regime, only 30 % of respondents abide to this. Creatine and Carnitine Use in Sport

5 Abstrakt Kreatin je z 95 % obsažen v kosterních svalech, kde je z 65 % fosforylován na kreatinfosfát. Denní potřeba 2 g je kryta příjmem z potravy a biosyntézou. Systém kreatin - kreatinfosfát slouží ve svalech pro rychlou regeneraci ATP, pro vyrovnávání pH a podílí se na růstu svalové hmoty. Základní a prokazatelně účinnou formou suplementů je kreatin monohydrát, jiné preparáty nejsou účinnější. Podávání kreatinu je bezpečné, potvrzeným nežádoucím účinkem je pouze nárůst hmotnosti a trávící obtíže. Je prokazatelně efektivní pro zvýšení výkonnosti, zejména při opakované krátkodobé intenzivní zátěži a v silových disciplínách. Nejúčinnějším postupem podávání je využívání tzv. plnící fáze, následované fází udržovací a pauzou, které se v cyklech opakují. Účinnost zvyšuje současné podání sacharidů. Nárůst výkonnosti koreluje s velikostí nárůstu obsahu kreatinu ve svalech, která závisí na velikosti jeho zásob před zahájením suplementace. Karnitin se vyskytuje ve dvou optických formách, ovšem pouze L-forma je metabolicky účinná a bezpečná. Jeho hlavní funkcí je přenos aktivovaných mastných kyselin do matrix mitochondrie, kde probíhá jejich β-oxidace. Denní potřeba karnitinu je z 25 % kryta biosyntézou, zbylých 75 % ...
Comparative analysis of the national newspaper supplements Salon, Kavarna and Orientace

Diploma thesis "Comparison analyses of national newspaper supplements Salon, Kavarna and Orientace" analyses supplements of national, daily released newspapers: Pravo (Salon), Mlada fronta DNES (Kavarna) and Lidove noviny (Orientace). Essential methods used in this work are quantitative analysis, applied to specified moths during years 2006-2008, and chronological analysis of chosen issues during years 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2005. Based on them, various evaluations of supplement main characteristics, specific features and differences were observed. Most important characteristics investigated in the work are: supplement content and graphic conception, placement within the carrying newspaper, structure of published literature forms, themes and sub-themes. There can be also found summary of each supplement history, list of its typical authors and internet version description. Author of this thesis also introduced related overview of Czech literary and cultural magazines (Literarni noviny, Host, Divoke vino, Revolver Revue, Tvar nebo A2) and briefly stated profiles of main national newspapers. To gain supplement readers characteristics, approximate sociological questionnaire was processed among university students.
Healthy Lifestyle as Disease Prevention

The content of the thesis is the research of lifestyle of working citizens of the Czech Republic. The principles of a healthy lifestyle, the most common infectious and non-infectious diseases resulting from non-compliance with these principles are described. Based on the survey results, a new preventive program (for health insurance companies) aimed at regular prevention is proposed.
